Workers came over to look at fence, explained to me what needed to be done, and "the boss" would call me with price. Well, "The Boss" who is FRED "The Fence Doctor" NEVER called. I texted "FRED" on August 10, 18, 24, 29, and September 6 with no replies, emailed him twice, and left several voice messages that all went unanswered. I seen mostly positive feedback on yelp and another website and made my decision to call, The Fence Doctor based on these reviews. Now I have to question these reviews and if any of them are legitimate. On the other side of this, the next contractor I brought in couldn't believe what I was told had to be replaced, how, and the fact it was a "all day job" to replace a post and fix a gate. He's repairing the gate next week at a estimated cost of $200, by only removing an attachment to the outside wall, re-applying a smaller board, and replacing the fence latch. Otherwise I am sure the "All Day" job probably would have been in the thousands of dollars. read more

Can't say enough about these guys. I can't speak for the few negative comments I see here but I got a callback from Fred who had someone check out the gate and provide a fair estimate in 24 hours. (Lower than others I'd been quoted) Essentially the hinges of my front gate needed to be rehung and some requested modifications to the gate needed to be made. The crew returned to do the work promptly despite the 10 degree weather, worked hard and paid great attention to details. After the team left, I did note one small concern, and contacted Fred about it. Within the hour they were back to fix the issue and now the gate is better than new! The Fence Doctors have earned my business and I look forward to working with them in the future to get the rest of the fence in good shape. read more

I wanted this to work out, but after I had my initial phone convo- which was really informative, and sounded like everything we needed for our front residential fence, and after they FINALLY came by for an estimate (after many requests for this) I have never ever heard from them again to schedule time to come do the work. A $2,500 job must not be important enough for them. I am now looking elsewhere to get a fence put in the front of my house before the really warm weather starts up for security purposes. read more

They sandblasted and painted our cast iron newel posts and bent railings that we wanted at specific angles to work with the posts. Fred, gave us a very detailed estimate so we knew exactly what they were going to do and what to expect. The association agreed his prices were very fair and he was not pushy about trying to up-sell us and was very honest in telling us what we needed to get done which we also really appreciated. Fred runs a very good service. I had an antique (victorian) gate, and the original rusty hinges finally gave out. Not a very big job so I expected to have a problem getting anyone willing to work on it. I called and emailed Fred some photos, and he gave me a rough estimate over the phone after seeing the problem. Four days later one of his crews showed up to repair the gate, welding on new hinges and replacing the rusted bolts with a new rod. After they were finished, the gate worked better than ever. They even made the gate theft-resistant. Very fair price for a crew of two who brought a truckload of equipment. Fence Doctors Inc know what they are doing. Definitely recommend them. read more

The security gate for our condo building fell off its hinges after years of use. Fence Doctors came out quickly and moved the fence and gate to a better location for added security. They installed additional fencing and completed the job in just a few days from quote to finished product. I don't even know how to describe in words the shape our wrought iron front gate was in when we came home one Friday evening. Someone had managed to force it open the wrong way, then extend the plating on its attaching hinges in a way that prevented it from swinging back in the correct direction. There were only about 6 inches of room between the fence and post, so no one could get in or out. We left a message with Fred Gebbia (he provides his cell number) at 7pm and received a call back within 30 minutes. He told us he'd call in the morning and send someone over; we received a call at 6am on Saturday saying he was sending someone. The repairman arrived within the hour, not only fixed but refurbished and jerk-proofed (put sturdy metal stopping plates on) the latch to protect against future damage, and painted it, all within an hour. Also included was a replacement of our alarm/buzzer system at cost of the device only. We paid him directly with a check and that was it. Super efficient, quality work, at essentially a moment's notice. Highly recommended. read more
