I'll give the good first. The view of the river was spectacular! The food tasted good (although cold by the time I ate it) and the portion sizes were nice and big. Now what was horrible, was our server's attitude. ""Lindsay" was busy, and that was to be expected. Since it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, we didn't mind a little wait while sitting outside (see pic). My first choice was the ""spud". But was told they had already sold out. So I ordered a 12' cheese pizza. To my surprise , my pizza came within 10 minutes but unfortunately, about 15 minutes before my two friends' meals came out. I did not want to eat in front of them out of respect About 10 minutes in, I waived Lindsay over and asked if she had an update on their food. She said it should be coming out soon and that I should just eat mine already. I told her that out of respect I didn't want to eat yet. She said (very snarky) ""well that's your choice!" as she was walking away. Finally, their meals arrived, they messed up my friends burger (she ordered it with no bun and got a bun). She took it back, returned it with no bun as ordered. She did not apologize. Now some of you may think I'm overreacting, but the tension and behavior was not acceptable in my opinion. She probably was overwhelmed or was having a bad day, but in the service industry, customer service is huge for returning customers. I'm willing to go back, because even cold my pizza was good, and my friends did love theirs too, but it will be awhile. read more

First off, the view is amazing! When sitting on the deck you look out over the Columbia River and various islands. Saw so many osprey! . We went here on a Thursday, late afternoon. The service was slow and the food so-so. If the view wasn't so amazing, probably would have given them two stars. This place has so much potential! I hope they can up their food quality. But, If you are looking for a place to have a drink, enjoy the view, and with pups in tow (allowed on the deck), I'd recommend this place. read more

While exploring through Oregon. We decided to stop by St Helen for a quick break. And it turns out that this town is more than just a small town. It's definitely more bigger than I expected. We came across to this roof top restaurant called the Farm. We were just going to stop in and check it out but instead. We decided to grab a drink and some food! You can take the elevator to the restaurant or walk up the stairs. I always prefer the stairs. It's a good workout! We sat outside and order some drinks and foods! The view from the roof is amazing! You can see the whole half of the town. Turkey sandwich, Oklahoma Cow Burger, and a Taco Spud! NGL, everything was bomb! Well, my burger was just a little cold. But it was still delicious! Big portion too! Service was great and seems to be local. Only thing I wish they have was fries! But chip is fine too! Overall, I would go back there again. It's definitely worth it!!! read more

Food is always great, but I would love fries as an option with the burgers. I love the chili and the pretzel is seriously crazy big. In fact most portions are pretty large, so we always leave with leftovers. I do wish the cuban was a bit more traditional, but the flavor is alway there on this place, so it's still great! I want to preface this review by saving I came on a busy Saturday during the peak of Halloweentown celebration in October and seems like this business is relatively new to this location? Also when we went they had technical difficulties with their handheld ordering system so it was a little chaotic but they were trying their best to serve the customers. I want to extend some grace in my review. However, the layout of the restaurant is very odd and caused a lot of congestion trying to get around the small partitioned space. Although their rooftop deck is very nice and has a good view of water and activities below. First you either take the elevator or the stairs to the 4th floor. There is a check-in kiosk right there at the top of the stairs but right in between the kitchen and the drink dispenser station, and also where you pay the bill? I'm not sure if this is the norm or if it was because they were having technical issues. You can sit wherever - a selection of high top tables and picnic style tables with glass tabletops. There is a tiny kitchen you can see into where they prepare some dishes but it does seem like most of the food comes from downstairs or perhaps an outdoor grill? Things such as baked potatoes, pizza, grilled burger, etc. The flow of the space really didn't make sense and I wish it was more open. The food prices are extremely reasonable for the portions you get. $13 for a big sandwich/wrap + chips is a pretty good given the prime location of this restaurant. My husband got the chicken Cesar wrap which used smoked chicken and didn't really taste like your classic chicken Cesar, and I got the Cubano sandwich expecting it to be panini pressed but it wasn't. It did have a good amount of meat in it and was tasty. We for a while cheese pizza and it came out piping hot. Our toddler enjoyed the pizza and the crust was nice and garlicky. Service felt chaotic with multiple different people checking on you and having to flag down whoever is passing by. But again I want to be more understanding given the unexpected issues they were having. I am hoping once they figure out some of the kinks and get more streamlined in this space it will be worth going back to next time we are in St. Helens area. read more

Many people say this, but in this case it is true: I never write reviews. In fact, I re-downloaded Yelp just to submit this review. When you are called The Farm, and you have brisket as an option for meat on nachos in Oregon, the mind envisions a pile of slow smoked meat nuggets with Tillamook cheese and vibrant tomatoes and lettuce. What we received was a few fat nuggets cloaked in bbq sauce atop a slathering of spicy plasti-cheese and iceberg lettuce. And we were unsure if it was actual Velveeta, or generic spray cheese. Point is: if we had been at a junior high baseball game, we would have expected what we got and would have thought it was pretty great for $5.99. But for an actual restaurant that has a full menu, adult beverages, and a bangin' view of the Columbia, and for a $25 price tag, this was a very confusing appetizer. Not angry. We went for lunch today. They have a very nice view over the river, with garage doors that open and let the breeze through. I thought the brisket was just ok - a bit tough/overcooked as much of it was somewhat hard to chew. The coleslaw needed some spices and salt. It needs a bit of work at the entrance - there are mops and brooms, etc. as you come off the elevator. And the waitress that said "hon" every second word was off-putting to me. The service was not good. They left the avocado off my sandwich, we waited so long for refills I just caught someone bringing food to someone. No one came to check in or anything. No one came to bring the check. We got up dumped our own plates, got our own to go box. I'm assuming the owner was there, this woman was heard being quite "direct" to several I'm assuming employees in front of everyone. Not an appropriate time to do that! Finally we got someone to check us out to leave. She was also just talking bad about the other server while doing this! The food was good but will not be a place we go often. read more

I came for the rooftop veggies, but I stayed for the SMOKED MEATS. Listen--when you're an animal best known for chewing wet wood, discovering perfectly smoked meat is a life-altering moment. Rich, smoky, layered flavors that linger longer than the scent of fresh pine on my whiskers. I briefly considered slapping my tail in approval, but that felt redundant. This farm on the roof is clearly run by culinary geniuses (or very ambitious squirrels). The smoked meats are So good I almost forgot my entire beaver identity and started asking about rubs and smoking times. Five stars. Indoor seating is smaller, but they do great fitting a lot into that space during the winter months. SUPER excited to sit on the deck and sip a margarita or beer this summer while the sun is shining and watching the river traffic !! It's going to be THE SPOT to be alllll spring and summer long!!! They DO take reservations and encourage you to ALWAYS make them if you plan to visit The Farm on the Roof with a group of 5+.
