So five stars for the help they gave a stranger this morning. Staying at a great AirBnB that uses a digital code for the lock. Go on my morning walk - realize that my battery is really low on the cell phone...memorize the combo...but turn one number upside down. LOCKED OUT! Walkabout looking for someplace or someone. Find the Kozy Korner open and fortunately I had my wallet with me. So I ordered a quick omelet and hashbrowns, and asked for no toast, and an ice tea. Then asked if by chance anyone had a charger that might work on my phone. Sure enough one of the folks working the kitchen did. Good meal - nice folks. This is your blue plate special kinda place and they do a large breakfast plate. BUT - they helped out and I was so very, very grateful. THANKS FOLKS! YOU ARE AWESOME IN MY BOOK! read more

We sat in a windowless room with old chipped folding tables. For what they are selling, the prices are INSANE. $17 Club sandwich, really? Cheaper and vastly better food is available in the area. Even dive bars like Pour House offer a better value, or get a premium burger at Crooked Creek for less than this place. read more

This a great greasy spoon dinner. It's not fancy but it's delicious. Best Chicken Fried Steak I've eaten and you'd better get grilled onions on your hash browns. If you like orange juice its literally fresh squeezed. The coffee isn't fancy but it too is great. Service is fast friendly and served up with a bit of friendly sass. I was in St. Helens and needed sustenance. There was some sort of Halloween festival happening near my first pick for food,so dining companion and I landed here. It looks non descript both inside and out. Small town 1970s. What they serve is solid diner food. Omelets and pancakes and the like. Very straightforward and homey. Low carb....whaaat? Not today. Although they had a chicken and cottage cheese plate if you must do that. No waffles past noon. Sigh. It was 12:15. I will (mostly) spare you my rant about omelets ( why is the filling never loose on the inside any more?) and report that my Denver omelet breakfast was pretty good. Crispy hashbrowns. Desperately needs an update inside and out. We like coming to this restaurant with Grandpa. He likes it because of the history and a lot of the staff knows him and are polite and warm and all that but thats about the only reason we come in. There are minimal options that aren't fried, greasy or are vegetarian friendly. I agree with other commenters about the prices- too high for what you get. The quality and price do not match. I'll just say it-the food is bad. That being said it is likely we will keep taking grandpa here as he wishes for our weekly get together but I think we'll all just stick to pie and coffee, we've learned our lesson about trying an actual food on the menu. read more

Terrible customer service, maybe I'm just unlucky, I always get the same lady. Slow, inattentive, and just plain rude. I ordered for pickup over the phone and when I got there, my food was ready but I didn't receive it for almost ten minutes. The lady up front just told me to wait when I came in, then chatted with someone at a table for a few minutes, forgot about my order and walked away, and when I finally reminded her a few minutes later, finally gave me my lukewarm food. In all honesty I am not quite sure where some of these reviews are coming from. Maybe it's just me, but apparently I am not picking very good breakfast spots. This one is close to my town and since, we don't have many options I thought we should give it a shot. 1. Bloody Mary - yikes, run far away from this one. 2. Food - out of can or package and tasteless. 3. Service - someone actual works there, because we saw her when she took order and served food. 4. Atmosphere - old and dirty looking We left most are food on plate, drinks full, paid bill and left. Sad, because we can use a good breakfast place around us. I will stick to the Village Inn from here on out if we are eating in town. read more

My goto place for a good dinner. I mostly sit in the bar, less crowded but not necessarily quieter. The bartender is friendly, the food is served fast and always solid. I tried the NY steak (flame-grilled) for the first time and it was good. I'm not normally a steak eater, but it was great cold the next morning, if that tells you anything. My fav meal is their club sandwich. There's one cook there that does it perfectly. Yum Breakfasts are good, anytime, as well. I have never waited so long to receive my breakfast. From the time we ordered, till we got our food was over 45min. 4 tables that came in at least 20min after us got their food before us. There was only two of us, and I ordered an omelette. My better half ordered the steak & eggs, "medium". His steak came out "well done". My English muffin didn't have any butter on it, but his did & they didn't bring any butter out on the side or have it available on the table. The hash browns on both of our plates were undercooked, and there were flies swarming our table & those around us. I won't be back here again, and would not recommend this place to family or friends. I really regret only giving three stars and feeling that I'm being generous. We were there for dinner on a Friday evening and excited to be trying out a place we had seen but not yet visited. We love a good diner and had driven from Scappoose for the sole purpose of eating at Kozy Korner. The good: loved the eclectic music playing. I felt like we had stepped back to 1973. Staff was very friendly. Servers were attentive and service was superb. No complaints there. My husband ordered the French dip with Swiss and grilled onions with a cup of clam chowder. The chowder was excellent. Not as thick as some but still hearty. The seasonings were bright and unexpected yet a positive. The sandwich was exactly as ordered. Nothing to brag about but definitely good. I ordered the meal by which I always judge any diner on my first visit: country fried steak, eggs, hash browns and a biscuit. The country fried steak was ok but not great. The gravy was from a mix using water. The eggs were exactly as ordered and fresh. The hash browns were superb. The biscuit should not have been served. At one point that morning it may have been ok. This Ellie Mae Clampett left over had been sitting out and was dryer than a 6 day old thanksgiving turkey that was already dry when it came out of the oven fresh. Sigh. We both ordered coffee. After one sip I looked around and confirmed we seemed to be the only ones drinking it. Tasted like it had been sitting on a burner since early afternoon. I ordered a refill to see if they dared serve the dregs from the same pot and I was right. They did. To their credit, we did not complain or send anything back. We did not give them opportunity to change our first impression. Our belief is restaurants should always put their best foot forward and believe that every meal served is the stake of their reputation. Managers, back-house staff and frontline staff should always make this their practice in any business. Will I visit again? Only by default if we are in the area and nothing else is open. If I could leave a 0 star review I would. We came here today for the Halloweentwon celebration, checked in and waited for our name to be called. The lady took our name and we waited outside. She then had us wait 40 minutes when she said the wait time was 20 and straight out lied to us saying she called out our name 5 times outside. So we went back in to get back in line and as we were walking out the manager came out angrily and said, "we're closed, we weren't prepared for this many people" and shut off the open sign. At 5pm on a Saturday. I'm pretty sure this is the worst customer service I've ever had. And I didn't even get served!! read more

Went here for brunch with one of my friends on a Sunday afternoon.... I ran out of water about 10 times & had to flag our waitress over EVERY SINGLE TIME. Wouldn't you think since I was drinking so much water to just bring a pitcher over? We both got chicken fried steak & eggs. I was happy because they let me get fries instead of hash browns (I HATE hashbrowns) but our CFS's were only OK. The sourdough toast we had was absolutely delicious though -- obviously they're not skimping on that. Wouldn't be back for the the CFS at least but the prices are cheap enough that I'd give it another shot. read more

We have eaten breakfast there many times and always enjoyed it. We can have our breakfast whenever we want which is nice too. I like my veggie omelet very well done and the cook always does it that way as requested. They also have fresh OJ which is squeezed while you wait and it is heavenly. The wait staff and the cooks are all super nice and efficient. There is a bar that is somehow connected to this coffee shop, but we have never been in it. read more

While the wife and I absolutely love the morning servers(they are a staple) we happened to be in while the guy that is a 'manger'/helps out while busy was working. Things had slowed down and he was talking with a customer and they're topic turned to LGBT and hate while there happened to be a young lesbian couple sitting not far from him. We noticed them both get uncomfortable, one looked over at him without saying anything he told her she could leave. They sat quietly, finished they're food and paid. Great family diner, with a very comfortable bar/lounge where you can eat any meal of the day. Try the Chicken strips and fries--the best!
