Nice place, fantastic service and food. We tend to go here for lunch every so often because the food has been delicious. I've tried a number of the Tots, the wings, the grilled cheese, gyros and the salads and they have all been delicious and the proportions are ridiculously massive. Today, tried something new, the Buffalo chicken wrap with the garlic Buffalo sauce on it & a small cup on the side because... well.. I like it spicy! the food came out quick, the tots were hot and crispy, the wraps were delicious. I really think if you haven't been here, give it a try. You are supporting local, the folks are nice and again. The food choices and flavors are fantastic. read more

My family and I made an unexpected but delightful stop at The Famous Restaurant today. My son and husband got the Greek Burger and my son was quoted as saying "this is the best burger I've ever had in my life". My husband loved it as well. I got the Coney Style Fries and they were BY far the best chili cheese fries I've ever consumed in my life. My daughter got the grilled boneless salad and she too Loved it! The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff incredibly friendly and attentive. I don't have a single complaint, Other than the desserts are listed on the back page with the "Fit" menu, which seems a little unfair lol I was told it's because their desserts have no calories haha! Great place and can't wait to go back and try something else! read more

What a fun place! I had the fish & chips. Best coating on the flakey fish. Chips were good too but I will go back for that fish. Service was great & friendly. read more

The Pottsville Coney Style tots are worth the trip alone. Everything I've eaten there has exceeded expectations.

The atmosphere could use a boost. Service is not friendly, almost like we got in the way to order at bar. The attitude of bartender was like she just left a funeral. We ordered the bone in wings. Some of them were burnt and had little flavors. Not a place I would go back too. read more

Fast service, with some of the best burgers! Very fresh meat reminds me of In and Out.

I would have loved to give a 5 star based on the food we would have! But...the culture of every person from the gal who sat us who had the personality of a rock to our waitress who acted like it was a big deal to get us napkins and a box to go was bad. We were surprised. Then when we noted that the price on the menu for what we ordered was $3.50 less than what we were to our waitress she walked away and said nothing. Next a person comes to the table and acts like we should not have said anything about the price difference and suggested they would check the menus. He was not nice, did not adjust our bill and did not introduce himself. Hmmmmmm Please teach customer service skills to your people. The food is great but we should not have to walk away with a bad taste in our mouth due to bad customer service. read more

Great food, great people. Love the local restaurant feel. Portions are plentiful and not terribly expensive.

Appropriately priced for the quality and serving size. Good service and ambiance. Appetizers and entrees were out promptly read more

Nice locally owned restaurant. Sat at the bar and had wings. Service was good. Wings were good. Beer was cold. Although I didnt have tonight I sometimes come here for their beef hot shot which is an excellent home cooked meal when I want a break from the typical bar food. read more

The avocado fries appetizer is definitely worth going. The menu is vast with lots of nice options. I got the boneless wings, which were good, but because I am a wimp, I found even the mild sauce too spicy. I'm only giving three stars because the service was poor. The hostess was cold and uncommunicative. She ldid not give a good impression for a first time visit. The waitress was friendly, but scarce. She actually left after serving us, which was no big deal, but getting our check took a lot of time. Once we had it, nobody came back to get our payment so I took it to the bar. read more

This is in a nice spacious building. I like the set up and the bar seats are super comfortable! Service at the bar was great. The bartender was very nice and attentive. They have an OK draught list. A lot of cheap lagers, like bud light and PBR types. Then they have Yuengling Black and Tan (which I don't see often) and some other craft brews. I really like that they have glassware for all of their draught beers. Makes it easier on the servers imo, and it's a nice touch. We ordered the avocado egg rolls. They were bangin. But I love egg rolls and all of the ingredients they used so I knew it would be good. They were perfectly crispy also! I got a small Greek salad for my main course. It comes atop some potato salad which is unique. I liked it a lot. Very fresh ingredients. My boyfriend got the Left Coast Chicken sandwich and fries. He said it was all good. The fries are a home cut type and were nice and crispy. Not too greasy. Overall, we had a good experience here and look forward to trying some more of their food! read more

I have been here numerous times and it has been fabulous until today. They had an off day. We couldn't eat our nachos. It took close to 20 minutes for them to arrive at the table with our first round of drinks. You could tell they have been sitting in the window for a while. Cheese was burnt and chicken was dried out. Dinner was ok margaritas were delicious and our waiter was a young funny attentive gentleman with lots of jokes. Sorry can't remember his name. It's just disappointing but it was our date night but sometimes restaurants have an off day read more

I really enjoyed the pot roast and disco fries. If I lived closer we'd be regulars! The potato soup was thick and delicious, you can even eat it with a fork. For 75 cents extra they top it with bacon and cheese... then it's baked to warm the cheese. Great choice all around! read more

-Ooey gooey grilled cheese, onion rings (top) -Famous fries (middle) -Shepards pie, onion rings (bottom) Grilled cheese tasted sweet. Onions rings lacked flavor. Famous fries were ok. Shepards pie tasted like vegetables soup and mash potatoes under the "soup" were dry and tasted like instant potatoes. We did order Avocado fries (not pictured) and they were amazing. I have only eaten here once. I probably wont come back. I got the shepards pie. It was very salty. I didnt finish it at the restaurant due too to much salt. I took the rest home. The presentation was just awlful. It looked looked like dog food in a bowl. I was not pleased at all. read more

Fried this, fried that, and fried fried things. It starts with a grouchy hostess who mumbles "follow me", lays the menu's on the table and walks off. I couldn't tell if she was talking to us, she was obviously thrilled to be there. I had the all american burger and tots "animal style". Apparently that means served cold, with cold cheese and slimy onions. Completely terrible. The burger was shadowed by the oversize bun in an effort to make it look huge. The two patties barely equal one at a better restaurant. I think Frisch's might be better. It was overall very cheap food, cheap ingredients, and beyond ordinary. When I left, I went home and let some of my famous farts. read more

Hubby & I stopped by here for a late lunch/early supper. Hubby got a Pepsi ($2.49) while I opted for water with lemon. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu & gave us some good suggestions. Hubby had the fish & chips (haddock, fresh cut fries, coleslaw & homemade tartar sauce) ($13). I ordered fish tacos (3 flour tortillas stuffed with Cajun grilled haddock, coleslaw & cilantro lime cream sauce with homemade salsa & sour cream on the side) ($10.50). I paid $1.50 for a small side of guacamole. My hubby loved the fish & chips and ate every bite. The fish tacos were average. I didn't care for the salsa & the guacamole had way too much cumin which overwhelmed the taste of avocado. I would eat here again to try other items on the menu. read more

Overall great first visit! The menu has lots of veggie and light options along with good ol' hamburgers and meat sandwiches and entrees. Portions were also good. In fact everyone in our party was totally satisfied with their meals. Here's what I tried and highly recommend: avocado rolls (avocado, black beans and cherry tomatoes deep fried in egg roll wrappers, so filling!), avocado fries (creamy and crunchy!), sweet potato fries (tip: if you order them to go with your hamburger, share them with someone else - it's a lot), gyro burger (just what it sounds like), and buffalo chicken dip. Service was great. We originally wanted to sit outside but ended up inside. They have a "hands free" menu you use a qr code to find (but also have paper copies on hand if you need them). Beer selection seemed about average. Can't wait to go back again! read more

My family was traveling through on our way back to Michigan. I ordered the chicken and waffles; my god they were the best waffles I have ever had. Even had to fight my family off of them. Great service! I had the fish sandwich. The fish was perfectly breaded and was flaky and tender. Best fish (haddock) I've had in quite a while. My wife had the taco salad with chili. It would have been better if they were just combined instead served separately. We will be back! read more

I have always had excellent food there. There is a nice variety of dishes. The service is always good.

I've been to the famous restaurant numerous times now, and it's about time to brag about how good they are. The atmosphere is nice and cozy on the inside, and they have a nice outdoor seating area as well. I've gotten a few things off their menu and have never been disappointed. You WILL NOT LEAVE HUNGRY. You get plenty with everything you order. As generic as it sounds, their double all American burger is one of the best burgers I've had in town. But I also recommend their avocado fries, super tasty. Oh and they got some serious beer selection too, but I haven't ordered enough of that to really talk about it. Strongly recommend. read more

I'm not sure what they are famous for...the woman who sat us didn't know. Maybe they are famous for their greasy fish and chips (with good but small coke slaw and tasty fries). Or maybe they are famous for their Greek salad, with tired, soft tomatoes. In any case, the beer list was quite extensive, and the waitstaff was friendly. read more

It was a nice enough place. Not too crowded when we were there. The French Onion soup is really good. The hamburger is not worth $13 in my humble opinion. For that price, fries should come with it and not be another $3.50. The server was nice. I can check the box next to "tried" and move on. read more

Great food and service. Abby was very friendly and professional. I strongly recommend

The food was very good. I had the chili burger. Messy, but excellent. The chili was very good on its own.

Great appetizers and excellent food! Loved everything we ordered! Will definitely be back.

There were so many menu choices that there is some thing for everyone. The food was great and the service was excellent.
