Heater is only thing in the room. Fan on it has less power than the hair dryer in the room. Passed out in my room and had to buy a fan.

Such a beautiful and historic hotel! Needs to be a museum, it's aging to much to be a 365 hotel. No AC, No fan, parking is mainly across the street and has homeless people looking inside cars and garbages. I went to Walmart 5 minutes away and had to buy a microwave and fan to stay alive. I can't wait until the new Hilton in Eureka is built - the older hotels should be marked as 50% camping and adventure because they have no amenities in your actual rooms. The rose cafe and bar are barely open with only 1-2 people who frequent the bar at night that I've seen. The ONLY reason to stay here like I did was to check out and embrace the historic look of this hotel. Walt Disney to the Rockefeller stayed here - clearly because of its Victorian old house feel. Way better than the eagle inn since it's bigger and not crowded with night life on the first floor who keep you up. But instead you get the opposite feeling - a dead empty hotel. I don't believe in ghosts, but this would be the place in eureka to tell those stories. Parking - If you have handicapped there is a tiny lot in the back corner of the hotel otherwise they ask you to park in their lot across the street. It's locked midnight - 6AM so you have to call the hotel for in and out privilege like a child because only 1 person runs the customer service and 1 person cleans the rooms. Cleaning Service - You can tell when a hotel is older because cleaning service has their kids running in the hallways. It's a small town and I'm sure they pay minimum wage so I can't be mad at that at all.

Lucky for us it was a cooler day but there's absolutely no air-conditioning in this hotel. It is beautiful and reminiscent of the twenties to 50s five past presidents have stayed here and a lot of prominent people. The floors are creaky which is to be expected, but the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom is very clean.

Here to visit family and selected this hotel on the National Historic registry. It's right downtown so conveniently located for getting around to local stores and restaurants. Very light breakfast is included in this Wyndham property.

To be honest, after reading other reviews I was terrified to stay here. I booked myself a room for one night on my way up north hoping for a comfortable yet brief stay. I arrived at 11 pm and was greeted by a kind lady at the front desk. The lobby was beautiful, historic, and definitely clean. It was dark out and I was exhausted so she didn't mind that I was too tired to go back outside and put the parking pass on my dashboard. This was a kind favor. My room was clean, cute, and I slept very well. The bathroom was clean and everything worked well. I haven't yet tried the breakfast but honestly, I'll just grab a coffee anyway. Happy with my stay!

This hotel is an amazing museum of Eureka history! Plan on walking around looking at the displays - the famous that have stayed here are pictured, the old phone booths are still there, as well as the phone exchange desk. (If that's the right label for it.) The Christmas decorations are epic, with a huge tree, a perfect backdrop for pictures. Having said all this, the reek of the cheap air fresheners (which are plugged in everywhere) is so bad I will never be able to stay here again. I tried to sit on the couch in front of the spectacular Christmas tree this morning but eventually had to leave because of the headache I got from the smell. I asked at the front desk if they could be unplugged and after much deliberation she unplugged the one closest to me. As for everything else? I went to Walmart to buy a coffee pot because the coffee in the room and downstairs is awful. There is a free breakfast with Cheerios, bananas, Costco muffins, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Staff is friendly and the room was clean. There is a pool, which oddly is not pictured on the website. Plenty of historical bits and pieces in display cases to look at.

I liked the hotel. It was cool seeing all of the history. They need to to better with breakfast. The room has everything you need though.

It is dark inside and smells "old". Our room was nicely decorated in old Victorian. It was overlooking the corner of 2nd & C right over the Irish pub. Everything was clean and nice inside. Bathroom was small but well stocked with supplies. The issue is more with the area. We took a walk after we arrived through the marina and old town area and concluded that we didn't feel terribly safe. We decided to stay in after dark. There were plenty of homeless and very "sketchy" people walking around talking loudly to themselves, etc. Know the rooms have no air conditioning so the hosts opened a couple of windows facing C street, which we left open all night, hoping that street wouldn't be terribly noisy. Fortunately, the Irish pub below us closes around 9:00, and the Mexican restaurant across the street was the same. By 9:30 or so the street was very quiet with only the occasional car and lone, loud motorcycle around midnight. Also there is no TV in the room, so bring your own entertainment! The WiFi didn't work either. We couldn't find the WiFi the hosts provided on check in. Overall, this area of town is trying to revive and the hosts are trying to bring back this hotel. Just be aware!

All of the chairs in the dining room sink so low, you can just rest your chin on the table and shovel it in. What I found most problematic with this hotel is the lip service to ADA accommodations. There are no grab bars in the bathroom, not even soap dishes you could cling too if you slipped on the very slippery tub floor. The lighting and the switches to the lighting are incredible dim in the room making impossible to see with black on black backgrounds. For low visibility people, the randomly placed 'mood' lighting keeps people like me in the dark. Finally, for people with physical disabilities, getting one's luggage on a cart, then to an elevator, then into a room with extremely heavy doors that swing back so quickly, an injury is almost guaranteed. Unfortunately, I experienced all of this at Holiday Inn express in Eureka. I mentioned some of my difficulties to the registration desk, staff, and as nice as they were, they didn't care... they say they'll remodel next year, but if they really cared about providing accommodations for Americans with disabilities, they make the changes now.

It is an older motel, but it's in a great location, close to anywhere in town, and very close to old town Eureka. For what I got for the price, I was very happy. You check in via a remote screen in the lobby, it's still very efficient, and the people on the other end of the screen are very friendly and helpful. As I mentioned, it was an older room, and there were a few chips and Nicks here and there, but that was just cosmetic. There is a desk to eat or work on, plugs to charge my gear, a TV with a good picture, the bathroom was spotless, it had a shower instead of a tub. The shower did not have a grab bar or a shower mat, so you do need to be careful. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a very good nights sleep. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream video. The room also had a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pot. What was especially nice was, I had to leave the hotel after only two nights, because I needed to stay with a sick family member at home. I called Chase who called the hotel, and the hotel agreed to let me cancel after two nights, and they refunded the remaining two nights back to my account. They were very understanding.
