We did this room when my brother was visiting from out of town last night. For context he has only done one other. I've done about 10 and my 15 year old probably double that. She is by far the best in our group at these. Our party consisted of 3 adults, an 8yr old and a 15 year old. According to the website the Jailbreak room was the most difficult. While the puzzles were cohesive and well thought out, I will say we would not have escaped with the .4 seconds left had they not given extra clues, so I'm glad we choose a place that doesn't take time off for extra help. When you have younger kids who really like to be a part of the puzzle solving it does take extra time/clues to work those out so they don't feel left out. Visually the rooms were very realistic and you were able to be very immersed in the game. You could tell they put a lot of time and care into making you feel like you were in a real prison. I did have a little trouble seeing a few of the clues in some of the rooms with only one flashlight but had I not forgotten my glasses it may have been easier. We will definitely go back and do one of the other games but I'm really glad we started with this one. It did not disappoint. For all the rooms in Dallas I've done, I probably enjoyed the effects of this one the most. The only thing I will say is if you don't have at least 4 people, this is probably not the right room for you. In the first of the 3 rooms, your party is in separate cells and both sides need to work together to get our of your cell into the rooms where you will be together. With just one person in each side it would be very difficult to look at the clues and share them with your partner in time to make it through the rest of the rooms. Highly recommend! read more

Having been to The Escape Game Austin, I was really excited to try this one out that was much closer to home. Three out of the four games from Austin are at this location (Classified being the odd one out), but they are currently building a new room called Playground that is exclusive to this location. Our group arrived a few minutes early, and they said they were running behind, so we had to wait a little bit past our reservation time, but no big deal. We did the Prison Break room, and I have to say this is by far the best set in an escape room I've ever done. Everything was very well done and very creative. Everything was nice and clean (except where the props were meant to look dirty), and I didn't feel like most escape rooms where I immediately have to wash my hands after touching something. The puzzles and clues for this room were all very well done, and nothing seemed impossible without hints. For an experienced group of four, we were able to escape with ~5 minutes remaining and using all three free hints. I only have two negative things to say about this location. While the staff at the front before the game was very friendly, the one running our game was very quick to get us out of there when it was over. I understand if they were running behind, but this is the first time an escape room hasn't asked to get a picture after the game. The second thing is the noise from the mall. The roof of the location is completely open, so you can hear the mall music and crowds talking from outside the room. It definitely lessened the experience of being in a prison. If the post-game experience and mall noise were taken care of, I would say this is the definition of a perfect escape room. Nevertheless, I will absolutely be back again to play another one. read more

When you get in you don't know how to start. But when you get the ball rolling you have so much fun. The people are nice, this being my first time in a escape room, they give me unlimited hints and it's just really fun. It's an hour but if you have a big group you can finish the room faster than that. They have different music for each room and you get into the mood. My opinion I would be to go again. They have discounts and it's not very high priced. They have merchandise to show you went there, they also give you a special sticker if it your birthday. read more

I went again and it was just as incredible! I've done a couple of escape games now, and, without a doubt, Escape Game Dallas is the best venue for them. The creativity, attention to detail, and friendliness of their staff make it a superb experience. I had my bro, sis-in-law, and their 3 kids (ages 8-3) with me and we decided as a family to do a game. I was a little nervous about the youngsters, but this room was about as family friendly as it gets. Anna, our guide was very helpful and excited for us when we escaped. We've done just about every room here and all of them have been awesome. We out smarted the system on one of the games and the guide was completely baffled by us but it was hilarious and we had a great time. Guides were helpful and not over bearing. Very pleased with my experience here! Christian, our gamemaster, was amazing. I've done a lot of escape rooms--sometimes competitively with friends other times just for fun with family. This time I came with my siblings to enjoy something new. Christian wasn't stingy with giving us free clues and knew that we just wanted to have a good time and let the kids enjoy the pleasure of just escaping a room. Highly recommend. One of the best escape the rooms I have been too, so much that I am going back to complete their last two rooms this week to get all 4 done. The cost is a little more than normal escape the rooms, but the quality outpaces the price by far. Now personally opinion if you have never done rooms before, this may not be the one to start with, I believe you should go here absolutely, but they have some challenging rooms, even for experiences escapists so starting out here might discourage you from continuing. But overall absolute top notch rooms, and a great staff so check it out and complete all 4 to earn the master escape artist shirt (the only way you can earn it is by completing all 4) and even better if you actually win you can buy the i escaped shirt (can only buy if you beat the room) so check em out its a flipping blast! read more

Everything in the room worked, there was no malfunctioning equipment, and all the puzzles had a good flow. I appreciated not only the room but the staff as well. We had such a great time the first time our family played here that our daughter asked for us to all play again to celebrate her 13th birthday. I didn't pay to reserve the room for just the 5 of us because I was sure no one would want to join in on such a large group. I was wrong. When we arrived a pair of friends had signed up to be in the room with us at the same time. Needless to say my daughter was upset, and I scrambled to see about transferring our reservation, or finding another room, but they were all booked up. I'm sure the staff sensed my panic as we wanted to make sure our daughter had a great birthday and they went above and beyond to not only help us reschedule our game and use the credit we had already paid for, but graciously allowed us to reserve the entire room for just our family. We have been to several other escape rooms, but The Escape Game is hands down our favorite and I am eternally grateful for their amazing customer service! read more

My husband and I chose to spend time together for Valentines Day and decided to do another escape room. We chose to go through Gold Rush today with Ashley as our Game Guide. She was very helpful getting us ready for the game. She answered our basic questions without giving us any clues. The first room was tough. The second room was very creative and the final room had multiple items to take care of. Overall, there was an amazing team who put this room together. Innovation and creativity is evident throughout. Everything means something in their rooms. It took us 1 hour, 5.25 minutes to escape. They were nice enough to allow us to escape with a few extra minutes. Advice: you should consider doing this one with someone with whom you have good communication skills. (It required us to work together on codes.) I would also recommend you work with people you know. The rooms are not super huge, so a smaller group would be best. Nathaniel, who works in the front, was very knowedgeable in the escape room world. He gave us some thoughts about working through more rooms, and see which brands we like best. Great production quality! Best in the area. This is NOT some warehouse space with props and puzzles plopped on a table. One room actually feels like a cabin in the woods that leads to a mine. Smoke effects and clever tech are a nice touch. Good mix of puzzles and teamwork tasks. Staff is very good and answered all our questions appropriately. read more

Let me start off by saying that I am from California so, this was my first time at Escape Game Dallas. Not to mention, this was my very first time completing an escape room; I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm not going to lie, I doubted the Playground Escape Game at first, but man was I far from being disappointed. Originally I wanted to complete Prison Break since my older brother--who lives in Dallas--mentioned that such escape room was difficult, yet legit. However, we decided to do Playground with the family. I must say, Playground was more than I expected; beyond speechless. Although we failed to complete the task, Playground was an amazing experience that imprinted high expectations; it's no wonder it is rated the best escape room. I cannot wait to visit Dallas again and complete the other escape rooms. Needless to say, I personally believe that Playground was a 7.5/10 in difficulty, and I have a BS along with an MSW. Perhaps I was overwhelmed and slightly nervous since it was my first time doing an escape room. Regardless, Playground was a bit more difficult than I anticipated. Either way, IT WAS TONS OF FUN! They really need to improve their mobile website. The dates were covered up and we accidentally booked on the wrong date. Then they said they wouldn't allow us to change the date because it was a Groupon and those "sales were final". They eventually did let us change it, but not after being hassled on the chat on their website, by whoever picked up their phone and then their manager. High production quality! Good challenging puzzles. Did 2 rooms today(Gold Rush and The Heist). Plenty to do for groups of 6-8. Probably some of our favorite rooms in Dallas area! The only negative is my husband and I unknowingly crashed a 12 year old boy's birthday party in Gold Rush. We were able to help the boys get out and made sure they had a hand in solving all the puzzles....they were actually really good contributors!! We still had a great time and were able to escape with 15 minutes to spare. It just would have been nice to know that the majority of the group we were joining was under 18. We frequently take our own children with us when we do escape rooms, and they love it. It is an amazing activity for our whole family to enjoy. So I have absolutely no problem with children being in escape rooms. But as we were on a date night, it would've been nice to know before hand. :) read more
