4 of us did the Clue room, and I liked how the music playing fits the theme of the room, and how the setup makes references to the rooms in the classic Clue board game. Our group is pretty experienced at escape rooms, so we solved it in 35 minutes with zero hints. However, I would say the Clue room was objectively on the easier side for people with escape room experience. This logically makes sense because if Breakout is partnering with Clue to make this room, they're going to want people to complete it. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just end with this: I liked how the Clue room wasn't a completely linear progression in terms of tasks that needed to be accomplished. Certainly doable in a group of 2, but I'd recommend a group of 4. (And probably no more than 6) read more

We had SO much fun in the runaway train room! There was 4 of us and plenty for everyone to do. It was not too difficult, but creative and good puzzles. I have been to half a dozen escape rooms and this is definitely one of the best. Our game master, Mac, was kind, funny, and helpful throughout the game. There were 8 of us, so it was a bit crowded, but we had a great time. I felt like they really did a great job with the Clue room and we were successful breaking out with 11 minutes to spare, and only used one hint. I've done other breakout rooms, and this is one of my top so far. There were multiple rooms in the Clue challenge, and lots of different puzzles to work through. great story line as well, if you are familiar with the game. We are visiting family, so it was a good family event. Next time we are here, we might try another room. I would highly recommend Breakout Games to anyone considering doing an escape room. We were skeptical at first when we walked into the small 10'x10' room with no indications of a second room. But it was so well packed with varied and themed puzzles, we were very surprised and delightfully challenged. There were a few "easier" ones at the start to lure you into a false sense of security. Location was great because we went to The Boiling Crab that recently opened and it was 2 minutes away from here. Ashton was so sweet and helpful. She was awesome! this was so much fun,, can't wait to go back and try a different room!!! my wife wanted to do something with our kids over the long weekend and had the idea of an escape room. only knowing what I've seen in movies and TV shows I wasn't sure what to expect. when we got there I was kind of skeptical because it seemed like a small place, again...wasn't sure what to expect. we did a challenge called The Kidnapping. you start in a small room all handcuffed to an army cot and have 1 hour to escape...OMG, BEST NIGHT EVER!!! we all worked together to solve the puzzles and if it weren't for that teamwork I don't think we would have succeeded. we did have to ask for one hint when we got stuck at a standstill for 10 minutes but the oldest daughter came through with the answer and we were off to the next piece of the puzzle. bring as many people as you can, some of the puzzles are hard and everyone's brain works differently. it was cool seeing how 4 of us would be stumped but 1 person would progress us...then the next piece of the puzzle someone else would solve. we ended up escaping with just over 5 minutes left, it was a great feeling of acomplishment! one of the best nights ever with the kids and definitely the best night in over a year!!! read more

Waaaah, so happy my sis found this place. We wanted to do a family thing for Thanksgiving and they were open! What i really enjoyed the most was that you could book an entire room and just pay per person without breaking the bank, obvs would be cheaper the more people you have but it was no problem for the three of us. My sis and i surprised my dad into this and he ended up really enjoying it, we were able to solve the puzzles relying on each other and we had some help too whenever we got stuck to basically tell us if we were going on the right path. We ended up finishing around 45 min, but def was panicking cause i didn't think we could finish within the hour for just the three of us LOL. My friends and I found this place last minute looking for something to do on a Saturday night. It was one of the few escape rooms in the area that allowed you to book an appointment with your group alone, which was the biggest selling point in our eyes. So, we looked it up on Yelp, read some reviews, and then ended up booking the "Runaway Train" theme. Our instructor was Josh, super nice, explained everything clearly, and answered all our questions (even all the dumb ones). The theme was really well done, it was hard but also easy enough to figure out since we only had 3 people in our group (fore warning though, we had a "math prodigy" lol). The decor and set up in the room was nice and flowed well together, not cheesy at all like other places I've been to in the past. Not to give anything else away, long story short, we finished the escape room in 49 minutes and ended up only asking for 3 clues from our instructor Josh (who was watching us through cameras set up in the room to make sure we were ok and going in the right direction of the solving the mystery). At the end we got stickers from Josh for "breaking out". We took a picture in front of the Break Out room sign with our time. Hands down one of the best escape rooms I've ever done and would love to try out some of the other themes one day.
