We did the zombie escape room it was 6 of us and I like the idea of having a live performer in the room with us all but it was not very well executed. For example the zombie guy wasn't very realistic looking and the main guy that tells you the rules is in the room with us during the whole thing which makes it awkward. I've been to a lot of escape rooms and this one could have been a lot better with the puzzles and locks are everywhere and they just didn't make much sense to me it was all just scattered also the puzzles and riddles didn't go with the theme at all. 'The zombie' and the other other guy who was in there did help us escape! I wish it was better put together that's all. read more

Our group of friends participated in the zombie escape room and successfully escaped. This was a challenging but fun room. The staff members were super awesome (Hunter and Eric). The zombie in the room is tied up on a chain and every 5 min the chain gets longer. It was perfect for Halloween coming up and our group all had so much fun! read more

Wow, who would have thought that people would actually volunteer to get trapped in a room with a zombie! Well I guess if you have puzzles, riddles, and clues to do inside with your friends, I can see the allure. You've got friends right? Select your best 11. (You get up to 12) And choose wisely! Go online and reserve a Private Party time slot and pay $28/each. Show up to a random lot of warehouses and find the bloody "107". Find your host. Talk to your host. He'll give you the rules and breakdown. Select a neat name and team name. Go into another room to wait for your time to go into THE room. Host will bring you to the door. Time starts as soon as you get inside. START LOOKING FOR CLUES!! AND TRY TO FIND THAT KEY!! It's pretty easy and one of the most unconventional ideas of fun you can have with friends at any age. The most compelling aspect is that you discover the type of person you are and the type of role you play in your group. Are you the smart one? Can you solve riddles? Are you not afraid to get near a zombie? Are you fast enough to escape a zombie? All these questions and more are answered. And you really discover how you communicate with others. That's the most important part that you will learn is needed to escape. Unfortuantely, my friends and I failed. But it was still a great experience. I'd definitely return for more. Even though you can have 12 people, I went with 6 other people and I found it very difficult to maneuver in that room. It's also a little hard to escape a zombie in a room with lots of people. I personally think that seven people is just enough and no more than that. Shout out to Bigby our Host who was patient and tried to help us through the room. I really wanted to like this more than I did. I love zombies; I love problem-solving games; I love, ergo, zombie-problem-solving games, in principal, anyway. But there really oughtta be a lower cap for the number of participants. The setup is is that you have one hour to negotiate, like a low-budget Saw sequel, your way through a series of puzzles (lock boxes, riddles, etc.) in order to escape a room--lest you all be killed by a zombie, one whose travel radius increases one foot every five minutes, until it has access to the entire space. You then run out of time, meaning that, of course, everyone has been eaten. More than anything, the device is meant to disrupt your puzzle-solving skills by making you focus on something immediate. Thus, you think inefficiently, burn your time running from the zombie, and fail to escape. That is, of course, unless you communicate well, establish priorities, send a few people to take one for the team by distracting the zombie, and generally think strategically and as a unit. But given the size of the room, that means that there are are serious spatial constraints that have to be navigated. So too many people (there were nearly a dozen in our group, including a shrieking bachelorette party) means that it's unlikely that anyone will be able to coordinate the clues or, for that matter, avoid tripping over one another once the zombie's range starts increasing. And tripping over other people isn't fun or challenging; it's chaotic and annoying. So, I can see this as a corporate team-building exercise (its primary use, apparently). People who already know one another and know one another's communication habits might find this both enjoyable and useful. But a dozen strangers in about 120 square feet? It brings down an otherwise cool concept. This should really be limited to about six people. read more

This is fun! And very scary. It's different from the other popular room escape adventures because of the zombie; its presence defined the entire story and dramatically heightened the creepiness of the experience. The creepiness starts at the beginning. When you just arrive at the Room Escape Adventures place, it basically looks like an abandoned warehouse with blood on the door. You go in, and the waiting room is also extremely creepy (blood, photographs, and incoherent scribbles everywhere). When they finally usher you toward the room where you will be trapped, you can hear the zombie trying to break out of his cabinet thing. THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP. It was scary. And then they actually put you in the room and actually LOCK THE DOOR. Click. And the thumping gets louder. THUMP THUMP THUMP. At that point, I actually wanted to escape for real, but my friends would not let me. Our group consisted entirely of adults, all attorneys and engineers, so for some inexplicable reason, we thought we might beat the odds and actually escape. (The success rate, we were told, is around 30%). NOPE. One of us died and the rest of us languished in the room until it was too late (i.e., time was called). It was awesome and a great team-building exercise. But also immensely scary and stressful at the same time. One thing I really appreciated was that some of the clues were so close to the zombie that you actually had to work together to lure him in another direction while some brave soul ran in and deciphered the clues. It was a nice touch. The only caveat I have is that this room could be a little dangerous. Near the end of our time, we were all running around a table, being chased by a mad zombie dripping with blood. One of my friends hurt his knee (from slamming it into the desk) and I could easily see someone tripping or getting pushed. I cannot imagine what this would look like if there were kids in the room. Room Escape Adventures might want to consider setting an age limit for these. I would suggest wearing comfortable shoes, because you will end up trying to run away from the zombie while screaming incoherent hints to your friends in a desperate attempt to decipher puzzles codes. I did this in high-heels and felt like I failed to meet my true zombie-thwarting potential. Also, if you are a girl with long hair and you try to take a photo with the zombie afterwards, he WILL get fake blood in your hair and it will be hard to wash out. Afterwards we went out for drinks because we were all so stressed out from the experience. But I'm glad we did it. read more

Awesome group activity! Here's the premise... You're locked in a room with a group of people (up to 12, I think), and you have 1 hour to find clues and solve puzzles/riddles to escape the room or die at the hands of a bloodthirsty zombie. The zombie is chained to the wall, and if it touches you, you're dead. Every 5 minutes the chain is let out another foot, so by the end of the hour it can reach all corners of the room. You really have to work together as a team to have a fighting chance. We had a great time, but could have used more people. There were only 7 in our group because another party that had signed up were no-shows. Our last surviving teammate was finishing the last clue when the timer went off. If you're looking for something fun and different to try with a group of family or friends, I'd definitely recommend this! read more

I love zombies. So when my friend got a group together to do an escape room WITH A ZOMBIE in it, I was literally the first to get a ticket. I'm not going to spoil anything about the room. Just know that yes, the zombie is in there with you, and yes, it definitely will go after you, but no, it will not hurt you. It's also brightly lit, so no one is going to sneak up on you and scare you. I was part of a group of 10 people who all knew each other, so it was fun. I could see how doing this with strangers would be less enjoyable/effective, because the room is pretty small and once that zombie gains nearly free reign of the place, you WILL end up grabbing someone or jostling someone whether you want to or not. You need to be clear headed and sharp to do this. This is NOT an activity you want to have a few drinks before, trust me. Save the drinking to celebrate your escape after you're done. We had a good time for my husband birthday celebration in the Escape Zombie room. We will definitely be back but maybe not to do the zombie room again. We were too districted by the zombie to solve the clues. The Zombie would release a link every 5min and we focus so hard on him getting loose we lose concentration, I guess that was the objective.The actors stayed in character and was really good. We are planning on going back for the 80's theme and axe throwing. Only advice I would give management is to fix the issue with the reservation system online it took forever to get the reservation confirmed. But overall a good experience. read more

When planning your visit, I highly recommend merging your group with another one as the more people you have, the better! While in normal escape rooms, working with strangers can be a little awkward, let me say that during that hour, I have never felt closer to complete strangers. I kept getting so focused on the puzzles that I would forget the zombie and they would pop up and scare me. I clung to the nearest stranger for dear life and we both screamed bloody murder. The zombie actor does an amazing job of staying in character and being a weird, nano virus, scientific accident type zombie. They move fast! We had the max number of people in our group and yet most of us "died". Only two people escaped. The puzzle wasn't super hard but having a zombie makes things much more difficult. My group of friends and I had a really good time here! Our team had a hard time at first trying to figure everything out, but knowing that there is a zombie waiting to attack us helped us work better under pressure. Rachel was a really great and helpful host and Star was a hilarious and fun zombie. We have done another escape room, but we really liked the fact that they did an evaluation at the end where they gave us the roles we played in the team. The results were accurate! This is very well done and so much fun. The clues were challenging, but not impossible. Unfortunately, we didn't finish- but that's more to do with the chaos in our group and inability to work together. This would be a fantastic team-building exercise for a work team. The employees (1 checked us in and oversaw the room and was played the zombie) both did a great job. The zombie does a good job of pacing things, so that he's not picking people off too quickly, but you never feel safe, either. The room was well thought-through. Unlike others, I didn't feel it was too small - if it were much bigger, then it would have been too easy to stay away from the zombie. The smallness gave it a more "trapped" feeling. I also really liked that even if you "died," you can help your team. You can't search for clues or unlock anything or move anything, but you can help solve riddles and crack codes. Our "dead" people were just as helpful as the ones in the game. After saying how much I loved this, I'm going to devote the rest of this review to a PSA to any parents out there, who are thinking "hey - this sounds like fun. I wonder if I should bring my young kids along." No. No. No no no no no no no no no. NO. Part of our group consisted of a family: 4 adults and 3 young kids (I'm guestimating 4, 5, and 7). Parents - this is really not ok. Your fellow guests are paying good money to be here - please don't do this to them. I like kids and all, but these were too young and they got in the way and detracted from our ability to solve the puzzle. Their shrieking contributed to a heightened sense of chaos and caused the people in their group to look after them, instead of helping the team. I really believe that if the kids hadn't been there, we would have solved the puzzles and escaped. But more importantly, it was dangerous. I came very close to tripping over a small child multiple times. I could have easily hurt myself or one of them, as they always seemed to be underfoot when I was running from a zombie. This is a small space where large adults are running around and bumping into each other - it's not the place for a small child that barely clears their knees to be mixed in...much less 3 small children. I really do think that it's irresponsible for the company to allow children that young to participate. They weren't old enough to help with the puzzles and are just a danger to themselves and others. Children under the age of 10 shouldn't be allowed to play this game, unless A. it's a private party or B. it's a special "family" version that's geared for young kids and advertised as such. Parents, if you're tempted: Just Say No. If the kids aren't old enough to crack codes and solve riddles, then there's no point for them to be there. At $30/ticket (including fees), you can easily find a babysitter for an hour. read more

What is this? It's a group experience where you are trapped in a room and to get out, you must solve a series of puzzles and riddles to get out. You have one hour. This particular company has a zombie motif. There's a zombie in the room. Every 5 minutes, a buzzer goes off and the chain that holds Dr. Oxy extends one foot, allowing him more distance to roam around. If Dr. Oxy touches you, you are no longer able to help physically though you can still talk and coach your compatriots. We arrived on time, actually early and we had to wait outside for the door to open. The sign on the door said, "The door will open 15-20 minutes before your scheduled time." It didn't open until under 10 minutes and we stood out in the 100 degree heat until it did. I don't recall how late we started, but our scheduled time was 2:30 and we didn't get out of there until about 4:15. We had scheduled a group of 9 friends as a private party and when we arrived, there were two other people that we didn't know. They said they had booked online and they system had allowed them to book "Billy's Private Party." At that point, they called the customer service number listed and no one picked up. So they just showed up thinking they might be able to join our group or reschedule. They were able to reschedule but the scheduling software wasn't smart enough to keep them from booking a private party. The props are just run of the mill items, things that you might find at a toy store. One of them specifically has a note written on it that says, "please be gentle with me." I would expect them to be a little more robust and industrial since they're seeing use every time someone enters the room. One of the locks in the room wasn't reset so the drawer was open, I pointed it out to the omniscient and he didn't really seem to care. At the end, when we were trying to use the code to escape the room, the omniscient had to go over there to try the code to see if the item was working. I think I counted him using the code three times before it worked for him and then he said, "yeah, it works." Well, a 25% success rate doesn't seem that great. The good news is when we put in the code after he said it worked, it did open and we did escape.! Huzzah! I would have expected some kind of debriefing where we would have been told anything we missed. One of the clues we had to brute force the clue instead of solving it and it would have been nice to have known what that was. Our group was talking about it afterwards and the staff rushed us off to make room for the next group. Our "Omniscient" (it's the name they give to the staff worker in the room) did not seem particularly enthused to be there. Dr. Oxy was awesome. He made sure that he folded up the chain with him so we wouldn't hurt ourselves. He made sure that he wore knee pads, he chained himself up and he put some water in his closet before he turned. He was quite the forward thinker. This is definitely something worth trying out. Escape rooms are opening all over the nation. Check them out. A great team building experience for friends, co-workers or just strangers. read more

I was skeptical about booking this as a date night, because it just seemed weird. Having done it, every time I've described it to someone, they laugh like I'm slightly nuts. No. It really is fun. I'm not a fan of sci-fi or horror by a long shot, but Room Escape Adventures is a good time. It's a mental challenge where you're locked in a room and solve riddles to escape. You likely don't know your teammates, but you band together very quickly to achieve a common goal. As an added element, there's a zombie in the room. It's part of the story line. He / she is chained to the wall, and the chain grows a foot longer every 5 minutes. If the zombie touches you, you "die" and have to stand in the corner while your team carries on. It's fundamentally a test of how you work with your team, heightened by the physicality of running and shouting and laughing. I found we bonded with strangers really fast because of the time constraint and zombie. Ten minutes in, people I'd never met were physically "rescuing" me. The puzzles aren't easy. The guides ("omniscients") walk the line well, prompting you when you need it and standing back when you don't. They make sure you get your full hour's worth. I would emphasize that this isn't scary. There's a fun adrenaline factor, but you're not afraid. The zombie is not terrifying (to adults) and is meant as a distraction, not the main "show". You're not going for movie-like special effects. To maximize the experience, just embrace it, enjoy it for what it is, and go all in. It's fun if you want to have fun. I did. Also, you must go for dinner / drinks with your team after! Ride out the adrenaline, talk about who was strongest at what, laugh about it. read more

When we arrived and I saw the sign, I was so shocked, that sounded so fun! The group is 12 people total, you can bring friends and make the reservation together or they will match you up with strangers. You go into a room that has a zombie in chains, every 10 minutes the chains become longer and longer so you have to solve the puzzles hidden in the room in order to escape the zombie. If the zombie touches you, you are out. Apparently the success rate is only 16%, crazy huh? So if you are thinking about it, gather your smartest friends and have fun! I planned a private zombie escape adventure for my birthday. When emailing the company, I usually got a response the next day. A date and time was reserved for my birthday and they provided us with a group discount code. I was told that I needed 8 people signed up (12 total are allowed) in order to keep it a private event. However, only 7 tickets were purchased (6 people came, one couldn't make it) but the time I had reserved did not appear to be opened back up to the public. I enjoyed that it was just my friends, and to be honest, more than 6 people in the room would have been too many in my opinion. This is in a warehouse suite seemingly in the middle of nowhere. My boyfriend said it looked like the kind of place you'd go for a drug deal. That being said, the 107 (suite number) in blood on the side of the building let us know we were in the right place. We showed up exactly 15 minutes early as instructed. One of the warnings when you purchase a ticket is that if you are late and the room is already locked, you do not get in! The sign on the front door says it will be opened 15 minutes before show time, but it was still locked at that time. We waited for about 10 minutes, then knocked on the door because one in our group needed to use the restroom. We heard a "Just a minute" and the door was opened maybe 5-10 minutes later. Our host/facilitator "Lethal Injection" apologized and explained that she was putting the room back together after the last group. She asked us to put on a nametag, sign the waiver and use the restroom before she told us about the rules. They only have one restroom, so it took a while waiting for each person to use it. She advised we go then because more than one person has peed themselves while in the room with the zombie! Lethal Injection had a great attitude and was obviously very happy to be there. She had lots of stories and hints for how our experience would go. She went over the rules, which did seem to go on a little long, but finally we were ready to go. Just outside the room, she told us a little more about the clues we were looking for, but looking back, that did not give me an idea of what I was really looking for. I won't give any spoilers about the room. The host does go in with you to make sure everyone stays safe and plays by the rules. She also removed items that we'd already figured out so they did not get in our way. We noticed many of the items were taped together and pretty beat up and there were holes in the walls. I understand some groups are probably rough with things, but some clues needed to be replaced. I can't imagine fitting 12 people in what was a pretty small room, 6 was plenty and we still ran into each other often. The host did give subtle hints if we needed a little help progressing, and told us about half way through that we were right on track with other groups. Also, she did say we played "extreme mode" (not sure if she was kidding) but there was a lot more running than I anticipated. Also, if you're scared at haunted houses, probably not the best adventure for you. Our zombie was funny and really played the role well. He didn't "eat" anyone right away and made sure we had fun as well. I am pretty intelligent, but I found some of the clues to be difficult. I'm not sure how anyone under 16 would have any chance of figuring them out. I think it would be much harder with a group of strangers too. We got very close to solving them all at the end but did not escape in time and were all eaten by the zombie. Apparently the escape rate is only 25%.. my advice would be to make it slightly less complicated so more people have a chance of being successful! After time was up, the host explained to us all the clues we hadn't figured out or what we needed to do differently. Once we figured everything out together, we found the key and let ourselves out of the room. I'm sure this was possible because there were no groups scheduled after us. Then we took group photos with funny signs and with the zombie, when we asked. The time we were supposed to start was 8:30, and we only had an hour to escape, but we did not end up leaving until at least 10:15 or so! Both employees that were there seemed to love their jobs and talked to us about it for a while afterward. To sum up, everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. I think it would behoove the company to change the room/clues up more regularly, because then you could have repeat customers. This is amazing and so much fun. The room is pretty small, though. It probably would be better with less than 12 people. Please, please, PLEASE, if you're bringing small children, BOOK ALL 12 SPOTS. We wound up having a lot of trouble maneuvering around tiny children cowering behind us (and sometimes blocking clues). Kids are fine, but since we really wanted to see if we could solve the puzzle, that detracted from our experience. Also, it's not helpful to screw around and try to scare the other players. I'm taking off one star, because there should be a minimum age unless it's a private party. It was super fun, but way too chaotic with all the screaming. I don't really know how to start this. Basically, you are trapped in a room with a zombie, just like the title says, with up to 11 other people. You solve puzzles and riddles to find the next clue or key or code to build up to unlocking the door. Every 5 minutes a buzzer sounds and the zombie gets an extra foot on his chain. If you get touched by the zombie you have to sit in the corner and can talk but can't perform any of the actions needed. It's all about teamwork and keeping track of the clues you uncover. There are two employees that oversee your hour in the room and make sure things go smoothly. It's in a sketchy part of town and they don't have a sign above the door, just a poster in a window. The groups are limited to 12 people, but the six I was with were almost too many cooks in the kitchen. All of this may sound odd or like it wouldn't be fun, but the challenge was stimulating and the thrill of trying to stay away from the zombie kept us on our toes! Overall, we had a great time. I went there once with a group of my friends. None of us had a good time for the amount of money spent. Our zombie decided that she didn't need to act the part. The zombie actress was nice, but none of us were happy when she acted upset that we weren't solving clues as quickly as she wanted. She started talking to us 20 minutes into the game. That took away a lot of the fun. No one wanted our zombie to talk to us and tell us where a clue was located. Paraphrasing, but our instructor told us it was impossible to survive without a pen and paper. The zombie said she provided us with those two things but they were no where to be found. 5 stars all day. First time EVER at an escape room place as I have been wanting to go ages. This set the bar high! We did the escape the zombies edition and it was so much fun. Not only was it challenging, but it was so interactive and fun. Mainly due to ERIC and TORY being amazing hosts who know how to make you laugh and have fun. If I am honest, I had little to zero expectations it would be worth while, but they made it completely worth it. After reading the first review about how small the room is and the description from their website, I was a bit skeptical about how scary or challenging this event can be. I was blown out of my mind. I played with 6 other people total and I'd say the room was big enough for that many and maybe one more. If it was 12, for sure people are going to be knocked out/"eaten" by the zombie due to lack of space. Basically, you're locked in a room with a zombie roaming around (he can move in all directions, only limited by length of his chain). You're searching through all things trying to find combination codes to unlock more clues to ultimately unlock the combo code to the key to the room. My heart was racing the whole time as we realized the clues are not very straight-forward. If you're going to play, bring your creative juices with you because you're going to need it to decipher the clues. Zombie was very realistic. Especially knowing there's only a 20% "survival" rate, with the clock ticking, and the zombie getting closer and closer, this game definitely will keep you on your toes. Trapped in a Room with a Zombie is exactly what its name describes. And so much more! Our party of 6 joined 3 other participants in this unique experience. We were locked in a room for an hour, and the room was filled with clues and locks that we had to open to be able to unlock the room. Along the way, an Oscar-worthy zombie enters the room and attempts to "eat" the participants. This adds an element of adrenaline. Not only are you racing against the clock, but you have to keep your eye on a lunging zombie. I loved this! I was the one running and shrieking and having a great time. It is Escape room meets haunted house! Now, the clues were not simple, and it took a while to figure some of them out. But, there is a moderator/guide in the room to gently guide the group if anyone gets stuck. If the zombie does tag you, you have to stand in a corner of the room. The only bummer of this experience is if you have to sit out for a long period of time. It is not quite as fun from the side-lines, though you still help solve the puzzles from this space. **Also, there are bathrooms in the facility! While we were waiting outside the room, we were informed by someone working at the haunted house next door that we would have to go to the nearby RaceTrac to use the bathroom, and we did! It was an inconvenient and unnecessary trip.** read more

I don't wanna give away too much, but this is a fun thing to do with friends or as a teambuilding event. And it's definitely something new to do if you are looking to shake up your weekend plans a bit. We reserved the entire show for our group but you can also just sign up and make some new friends if it's too annoying to try and nail down a date that works for 12 people. I thought it'd be super easy because I play that dumb game on my phone but you will be challenged. Dallas has something like a 26% pass rate--we failed but were pretty close. The host did say that many of the people who do make it out figure the final clues within the last two minutes, so don't give up! Be organized and communicate with your team and have fun! What a great idea. Such a Fun experience. I had the awesome opportunity to experience this as a team building event. The location seemed sketchy, in a warehouse district down town. The entrance was on the back side of the building and the windows were cornered with black trash bags. There were two workers, one provided the explanation and rules and the second was our zombie and he was sporting some very well done make up. They make sure and tell you that a team of doctors couldn't make it out but a group of Girl Scouts did. Messing with your head. The actual space is a small room with desks, tables and cabinets. It's a maze of riddles and clues solve one and it leads you to the next. All the while the zombie starts off chained in the corner, about every 5-7 minutes the chain is released an the zombie can get closer and closer to you. If the zombie touches you then your "dead" and must go sit in the corner. You can still participate verbally to help out. The riddles and puzzles were a little difficult and challenging but they will tell you the key is communication. So if you're wondering if my group made it out. I will have to leave you guessing. This is extremely fun and definitely makes you think out side the box. Afterward the zombie posed for pictures with us. I definitely recommend this experience. read more

I am so excited to leave this review. Me, and my family from out of town had a blast trying to escape from the Zombie. Even my 7 year old was rocking out the clues. You have to experience this very unique, fun, mystery solving adventure that will keep you on your toes!!!! LOVED IT!!!!! read more

When we first purchased tickets we were a little nervous about this being worth the money, but when we drove up to check the place out on a Saturday afternoon the atmosphere of an industrial park location in itself set the mood. It seemed deserted as if there was a real Zombie Apocalypse. This event had our entire family working together to save our lives. We were worried if it would be too scary for our 7 year old but he took on the leader roll instantly when we were trapped. He did not want to be eaten. I totally recommend giving this a try. It was an awesome experience and something totally out of the norm. I would give this more stars if I could. read more
