Cannibal's Den + costumes
Arah L.

This will be the most immersive experience you'll have! Unlike any other escape rooms and I've done 50+ all over the country. Owner is kind and amazing. I love that you can wear costumes to really immerse yourself into the story! I've done both Malediction and Cannibal's Den. These rooms are so well built and you really feel like you're in it. Also, you can sometimes greet the dog working here. He likes to join your pictures if you ask :) He'll sit and smile with you!

Prison Break team had a wonderful time. Jonah was amazing and the live acting was on point. I appreciate all the decorations and I truly felt immersed in this experience. Thank you for the great memories!

This was our first time at an escape room. My husband and I took our 7 & 3 year old. We did the spell breakers escape room. It was so fun! My kiddos loved the entire experience. Detailed room decor, interactive puppets, spells, magic, and more! If you're looking for something fun to do with the family then this is it. Running around the room looking for clues was a chaotic adventure. (Don't worry about getting stuck on any riddles, you'll receive help when needed.) Overall a great experience and hope they come out with more kid friendly versions in the future. The kiddos won't stop talking about it!

This location is the newest addition from their Los Angeles locations. Quest room always delivers in immersion, puzzles, and overall amazing adventures. This escape room (malediction) was their dark humor version of the original game spell breakers. Such an amazing game highly immersive and funny character interactions. Staff were so friendly and Jonah the owner of this location was awesome. Thank you quest room!!!

And Malediction, it's a unique game similar to a fantasy video game where you have to find something.

We got a gift card a year ago for Christmas and I realized the email said it expires in 12 months,…read morewhich would be this coming week, so we got out there. The staff member I spoke with said they actually don't expire, but I'm glad we went anyway. We chose the Gift Holiday escape room and booked online two days before. Our game master Andy did a great job catering to our family of four's needs--our kids are 8 and almost 12, so he asked if we were looking to beat the high score or if we wanted hints if he saw we were stuck. I let him know we wanted to try to solve it ourselves, but we wanted to beat the room. He provided a great amount of help but always at the right times. We solved the room with five minutes to spare which felt great. We don't have beat it without his help, and it would've negatively impacted our experience. I appreciated the option where more competitive people would need or want fewer hints. He had great enthusiasm and a pleasant attitude. There are many escape room options, but he made this location our favorite and first choice going forward.

I played the Lost Ruins room with some friends, and we made it out with under two minutes to spare…read more We chose the unlimited hints options I think (or whatever was the most) and used around 5-7 in total. You get a bonus hint if you can solve the riddle at the front, which was fun. This room had a lot fewer high tech audio visual effects than some escape rooms I've done more recently. It was a lot of more classic puzzles, nothing insanely cognitively complexed. There were some frustrations, like getting pieces in exactly the right order but one fairly symmetrical piece was just upside down/ not locking properly with magnets. That's the kind of thing it would be helpful if the game master could comment on when they see us get the order right and lose 10 extra minutes... they did give us some time back because the piece was a little glitchy. We had multiple binders to use as reference for many clues, and one of them was really out of order, which also confused the flow a little as we were trying to flip to the same pages as each other. We found some of the puzzles a little far fetched to figure out without a hint to get started. All in all, though, this was a very fun way to spend an hour with friends and earns a solid 4/5 on escape rooms for me! I appreciated it wasn't too scary (I hate the ones with super loud jump scares and things / people popping out at you!). Recommend! We were a group of four which I think is about the right number for this sort of thing.

My husband brought me here for a birthday surprise, so it was just the 2 of us and there were 3…read moredifferent rooms for the minimum of 2 people. We did the Secret Vault which had a 35% passing rate. It was challenging and fun and even though we didn't escape, they did allow us 15 extra minutes with 3 more clues and we got out in 7 minutes. It was only 1 room, but it was so well thought out and some stuff that was super crazy hard, that I would have never thought of. I liked how clean everything was and well kept. I've been through some escape rooms out of the country and so I thought that this room was comparable in the level of difficulty for some parts, but for sure the puzzles were done very well. I've told a lot of my friends about this place, so I can't wait to go back with them. There's no red herrings, and the game master did very well with guiding us during the clues and was very thorough with the rules. Can't wait to go back.

Update: the owner completely missed the point about the laminated cards. Clues should be creative…read moreand your company took a very stale, almost lazy approach to clue display. You already have numerous different rules and a required liability form, so I don't see a problem with a screwdriver, something you can find in your house. TLDR: I have done 15+ rooms and this place ranks the worst I've ever done. Being OGs to the escape room scene, opening in 2014, Escape Expert should have a proven formula down. At least that is what I bet on. Oh, how wrong I was. Boasting the "largest" escape room in Texas is true. Just trying to find the bathroom in this place is hard. HOWEVER, it really is just a pitiful excuse to be expensive. Their "third generation escape room" is just a fancy phrase to say an escape room with no manual locks. I hated their escape room, Holding Cell. Their orientation room takes away from the experience. I didn't pay $30 to sit and get lectured like children for 10 minutes on about 15 different rules I could be liable for if I break. When you enter an escape room, you should feel transported into a movie or another dimension. Their room had no atmosphere. It felt like a room disguised as a cell, instead of being a cell. It just felt fake. Where was the toilet or sink the prisoner was suppose to use? Why the hell was there a blackboard on the wall? The blackboard should be a clue. The room just felt clunky. It didn't have a flow and the progression clues were poorly displayed. Progression should feel rewarding. Here, it just felt trivial and insulting. (We got the puzzle! What did we get? Oh, just a laminated card). The clues were written on LAMINATED CARDS. Like come on, be more creative. Have a scewdrive as a reward and something. On the backs, they had the location of the clues for the staff to reset the room. It was a poor attempt at an technologically advanced escape room. This is a prime example of quality over quantity. Save your money and take it to the Perfect Escape, The Escape Game, or even Red Door! Anywhere but here.
