I've heard of this chain through ads that pop up, and i was curious about it. I don't know anyone who has done this as of yet. So, it was my first time. My family decided to go during Thanksgiving week it's a popular activity to do as I saw other groups doing it too. It was fun, but if your child is under 5 years old, I don't think they will understand. There's different AR type of games to play based on age and experience. We did both angry birds for the kids and one adult. Another game for adults called squid games. Squid games were hard to play, but it was fun. You build up a sweat, so wear lighter clothes, and there are no holders for your belongings, so leave it in the car or at home. They do tally up your score and post it up for everyone to see. At the end, you do a short dance with your group that's made into a gif. read more

Ok right now I am bummed. Came after church and noticed there was a few people inside so o we t in and asked if I could make a reservation for later, maybe in a couple hours. The man said sure he just needed to clean a room. Ok, cool. No problem. He cleaned the room then disappeared. I waited 10 mins with no help. No one checked on me or anything so i left. My advice, make a reservation because they are no equipped to deal with walk-ins or a crowd at this point. read more

Purely entertaining and totally fun! We did Bunny 007! So based on the game you choose, you follow instructions and enjoy the game. You wear a visor on your head so the system can detect your moves. You use hand gestures and place/move your body within the game space to accomplish your goals. You may even touch the "buttons" on the walls as images appear. (This will make sense as you play) The cost was reasonable and I can't wait to go back to try some of the other experiences. Cool concept but very expensive. I went with my 6 year old daughter. The room was very small and it did look like they were kind of small for larger groups of around 6ish. We did the paw patrol one. Majority of the time, it is one-player. They switch it up, but good thing it was only 2 of us so we are playing quite often. Only about 2 of the 5 games, we both could play at same time. Not sure if this was bc that's how paw patrol was set up The games kind of glitches a little. The recycling one got frozen a lot and the construction one couldn't read us when we were trying to move to the side walls. Our party was My man, our 12 year old daughter and myself and it was an easy process for us checked in filled out waivers and it was about 10 min wait. We chose an alien aptitude test london 84 and we had a blast learned some of us were better than others in some of the games and our daughter pretty much whooped us in a lot of the courses! The experience was great overall! The front desk/staff were very helpful and kind in providing a guideline as to how the whole process works before even starting your game. The location provides free lockers that have a key to place your belongings in before game time. The game we chose was the Alien aptitude test which had 4 physical/mental mini-games. It was a great choice for our date night. Its soundtrack was 80s themed which was awesome. Each game has a difference in time limit and music so do your research before selecting!!! The last mini-game did not have the best instructions which have been addressed by the team so that is a plus they take their reviews very seriously and are making improvements for their customers I would say 4 people would feel a little crowded per room so the most I'd do per room would be 4 as opposed to the 6 they claim. We got the chance to visit Immersive Gamebox in The colony while on a roadtrip. It was easily one of the most fun experiences!! We played that squid game for the longest time. So. Much. Fun. The first time I went with my husband and kids (ages 5 and 8). We played in a closed door room (some have glass windows) and we had a blast. My husband is a Brit and we did the royals game with the kids and found them all within the hour. The second time my long time friend and I took the kids. We played a 30 minute game in the middle of the afternoon. I didn't like the glass window as much and the music kept playing over the game instructions so we literally couldn't hear. We figured out how to turn down the music on the LAST round which was a bummer. But I love Gamebox overall and we'd go back. I might just mute the music next time (though it really adds to the experience!!). read more

We chose Alien Aptitude Test because it is encouraged if it's your first time play lower level game first and we are glad that we did as it continued to get more challenging as we completed rounds. What a great interactive experience and a great team building exercise that helps with perseverance and strategic thinking. It was challenging to move around in given the space provided. The music was louder then the instructions and we did not know that we could control the music until we we finished the game. All we had to do was touch the wall to our left. Had a good time here with my family. Boys ages 10, 14, 15. This place is a fun idea. You wear a visor that has a sensor mounted on it that detects your movement in your team's gaming room. They project certain games on the wall and there are sensors on the wall that can detect your hand touch. Other games sense your movement. This place is overall fun, please make sure you pick challenging games for the older kids if you have them or they'll get bored quickly. I loved the idea and think there is lots of room for growth here. I'd love this in my home town Cons/feedback: - i suggest cleaning the visors between players or maybe purchasing your own visor -the instructions on certain games tick away your time. This is a solid 3 star experience. I came here with my boyfriend as a party of 2 last week. I highly recommend you bring at least 3 or 4 people, the more folks you bring to this interactive experience, the more fun it is! We chose the psychedelic mansion game and were excited to go through a bunch of illusions...as described online we would be doing training and this "mansion" would trick us into believe what was reality and what wasn't. The games literally had absolutely nothing to do with the theme we chose which was a huge let down. Immersing myself in a theme Is so fun, for instance when you do an escape room. There were only 4 mini games and we literally were there just leveling up those same games over and over. It was repetitive and some of the games were fun but after doing them over and over I couldnt help but lose interest, and even got a little frustrated because the games would get harder and harder as you leveled up. I had so looked forward to this rare date night , however we cut the night short and left our game 20 minutes early (you have a time slot for an hour) because I was tired of the same.gsmes over and over. There is very little replayability to these games and I dont forsee myself coming back. This would have been a 2 star experience if not for the fantastic staff! I think this location will do OK due to the stellar location they secured but I don't forsee then sticking around longer than a couple years if they dont figure out how to rework the experience. Overall not what I expected. I wish them the best of luck but am really scratching my head as to how this has succeeded outside of the united states. Highly recommend trying this place out with your friends, kids, and or significant other! It was so much fun and a lot better then I expected. I got to try 2 experiences so far and my favorite has to be the psychedelic mansion. It has a lot of movement and is high energy so great for kids and young adults. If you want an interactive one but not so much high energy then the ticket to Mars was the other one I tried that was less energy and more trivia type. You need to know a lot of celebrities for some reason and be able to think a bit more. It wasn't as fun as the psychedelic mansion that I tried first but thats just my opinion and I'm sure others would find it more interesting and fun. If you aren't sure about what you would like, I suggest asking a worker about the different experiences and tell them what you want so they can reccomend you a experience fitted for you. It is a bit pricy so I can see how if you choose a experience that doesn't fit your personality, it could feel like a waste/and or boring. The place makes sure to sanitize and keep the rooms super clean for each group which is great and makes you feel safe to be there. The rooms are small so it can feel a bit tight for 6 people (which is the max ) but it is doable and pretty fun. Esp since psychedelic mansion is so high energy, having extra people gives you a bit of a break from jumping and running around in the room. At the end you get to take a cute gif which they send to your email that you put in the waiver you need to sign before playing. It was a bit sad because it cut off 2 of my friends so make sure you squeeze in when doing so. It doesn't take a video of the entire back wall as you would think so if you're standing on the edges you'll get cut off and not be in it. read more

There's not anything special about the exterior / lobby of Electric Gamebox, but once you're ready to play you go into a room with 4 walls that become screens. You wear a motion-censored hat that tracks your movement. There is a small ledge on the wall where you can keep drinks, bags, etc. and they also have lockers where you can store personal items during the game. - Games: They have a variety of 30 min and 1 hour games. Their website provides game recommendations based on your group. You can have up to 6 players in one gamebox, but when I've played we've had 3-4 people. I've played Psychedelic Mansion, Rescuing the Royals, and Ticket to Mars. They're all fun, but on my most recent visit I played Ticket to Mars and I think it was my favorite! It was a good mix of physical and mind games and had a fun premise. - Reservations: It's easy to book your gamebox in advance online. Prices change depending on when you go and the size of your group. On my most recent visit, we had 17 people so we did one reservation and they booked multiple rooms for us. We were able to adjust the reservation without charge up to 24 hours in advance. - Audience: On earlier visits, I've had a fun time with friends in our late 20s, but on this visit our group ranged from 16 to late 60s. When we got there we were instantly greeted and they walked through the entire process with us. signing waivers, locking our stuff up and getting started in the game. We didn't really look this place up before arriving or we would have prepared for a mini workout session! You're given colored visors to place on your head so the game can track your body movement. (Movements like left, right, up, back). The games required us to quickly move in those directions based off of whichever game we played. We did a memory game (touching the touch screen walls), pac-man like game, dodgeball and another one involving moving around the entire room. There was 4 of us so it went very smooth. The 30 minutes FLEWWWW by. We were having so much fun! It was a great beginning game. 30 minutes was great for a first time but definitely will do an hour next time because you just get so excited and into it. Checking in was so easy and smooth. So this is in the grand scape shopping center, so if you know where the movie theater is it's not too far across from it. Parking is super close as well right across from the water fountain. As soon as he walked in we were greeted by two young men, they were really nice, I was actually running late and they called to make sure I was OK and if I needed any directions, what a nice touch! As of now you must have your mask on! You can take your mask off once you actually enter the game room. Keep in mind after you pick which room you would like to be in, you are able to put your items in a locker and you'll be the only one with the key. Definitely a nice touch. We picked the psychedelic mansion, which is a bout 16 task to do in the game room, I believe we finish only 11, they actually do get pretty hard, but we enjoyed it. So first off once you pick the room you want to be in, that will lead you into your game room where you'll be wearing somewhat of a visor, the visor projects onto the screen and that's how you navigate the game room. So it's basically a room and a projector! And the visor is able to project onto the wall and that's how you play! It was so fun, because you do different things where you have to jump or skip, it was mind challenging which we loved. We will definitely be back to try more rooms! read more

This place was a lot more fun than I was expecting it to be based on some of the reviews I've seen. I think it honestly depends on the game you pick to play and I can only review this based on the one we did; which was Psychedelic Mansion, so take what I say with that weight. The staff was super friendly and it was an easy checkin process. They have lockers for you to put your stuff in with a key so you don't have to worry about what to do with all your loose items while playing. You are then taken into your room and given the overview of your game and the rule behind it. Our game was set up with 4 different mini games that progressively got harder with each level. We enjoyed all of them but the spelling one, called Word, started to get redundant with the same words popping up after awhile so wasn't as challenging after awhile. The other one we really enjoyed was "Action" basically where you have to dodge boxes to collect jewels. After level 4 you are basically doing a full workout so was fun and challenging. Overall I enjoyed my visit and will be coming back to do it again soon! read more
