It's nice to see it and experience it once. We went there for their Christmas special event, "Glow" and I'm not sure if they have the same issues all the time or this issues were related to their Christmas special: Parking is a disaster. I was driving around for a while to be allowed to go to one of the parking areas and it seems the traffic was not planned or controlled properly. Then the parking was all icy which is a safety hazard knowing a lot of young and older people walk there. Then we got inside and although it was nice, it wasn't worth the money and energy. I personally didn't feel Christmas spirit and originality. Everything about the setup was very mechanical without soul. Like a robot maybe! I think something like "candy cane lane" is a lot better experience and it gives a feeling that your in a Christmas painting. I will go back there for the market itself after holidays. One could enjoy oneself here, if one: 1) lived in St. Albert; 2) had lots of money to burn, and 3) had low expectations of this Centre acting as the greenhouse it replaced. Beautiful space, but better suited for elderly mall-walkers and special events. Truth be told, there are few actual plants, particularly annuals, on offer. They seem to focus more on specialized seasonal plants, like poinsettias and Norfolk pine at Christmas, and decorative items like pumpkins, terrariums, and tropical plants. I came in mid-September for fall bedding plants and was shocked to find there were almost no plants, a few potted mums with tightly closed buds, and that was it. Not even a marigold in the whole place! What perennials they had left were leggy, there were a few scraggly trees and some sad looking pansies. Quite a pathetic showing, shocking that Home Depot and Canadian Tire have better selection! All this greenhouse space, and hardly any plants. I was pretty choked that I had driven all the way to St. Albert and left without a single bedding plant, what a waste of my gas and my time. The Enjoy Centre is actually a wannabe high-end shopping mall, out in a middle of nowhere industrial park. One of the reasons I chose to come out was to hit Evoolution, but I can do that closer to home. There's a spa onsite, an overpriced kitchen store, an overpriced health and wellness shop, and a specialty grocery store akin to Loblaws City Centre market or any Planet Organic. I'm not sure why anyone would come to the Enjoy Centre for such services, and indeed anytime I've visited, these stores are all but empty. The cafeteria is also overpriced and very average. Honestly I'd only come back here for the special events and would maybe do some gift shopping. But I'll never make the drive from Edmonton again just to peruse expensive items I can purchase elsewhere, or to buy plants, if there were any to buy!! read more

I remember the days of Hole's Garden centre. This place is nothing like it. The quality of plants significantly dropped, the sense of welcome disappeared. It's extremely boring I must say. The facility potential is enormous, but instead of feeling like you are in a beautiful garden, it feels like you're walking through the warehouse. This place is dying, a lot of shops closing doors. it's quite unfortunate. It needs a major revamp. read more

The Enjoy centre to me used to be a one stop shop for a variety of fresh healthy food, a place for a lovely lunch and a spot to just spend some money. Over the years the Enjoy centre has lost the deli it once had and some other grocery space that turned into office space from what it looks. While the upper floor has also lost some neat tenants it used to have, it does have the Makers keep which is a great option for gifts of just a neat place to find something unique for yourself. The spa on the main floor is beautiful and they have great yoga classes at Wellness within. There is also a little play area on the main floor with things for the kiddos. So while it still has things to do, it just feels to me like it lost some of it's magic. Altogether, I still will go occasionally just to check in and see what has changed but it does not have the same draw it once had. read more

The Enjoy Centre is the new Hole's located in St. Albert. I think they are still calling their "Greenhouse/Nursery" Hole's but have named the entire place The Enjoy Centre as they will be housing an art gallery, spa, and bistro. It's now open to the public but parts of the centre are still under construction (such as the spa). The Enjoy Centre is a nursery combined with a bistro and capaccino bar with plenty of space to sit and lounge while overlooking the outdoors through 3 stories of glass windows. The inside nursery is beautiful and has the most interesting display of hanging baskets I have ever seen back in the Annual section. They hanging baskets are on a motorized pulley that wheels them slowly across - back and forth - zig zagging - kind of like a conveyer belt so that you get to see all the available baskets. The greenhouses where they grow and nurture the plants are off limits to the public but you can view them from the area where you are shopping and it really is quite breathtaking. The quality of plants at the Enjoy Centre is high - as is the price. Of the 5 nurseries I have visited this spring/summer, the Enjoy Centre has prices amongst the highest but the quality is also amongst the highest I have seen. They have beautiful starter plants for vegetables - an amazing assortment of tomatoes! Outside they have 4-5 levels of terraces that you can manuever your shopping cart through for perrennials, trees, shrubs, etc. They have lovely nick knacks galore for your garden - actually this is where I spent most of my $200 on my last trip there! Beautiful sculptures, animals, old-rusted style hooks to hang on your sheds, vegetable markers, sun catchers, birdhouses, I could just go on and on and on... I did notice that they are having a special this Sunday for father's day - Noon - 4PM - A beer, bratwurst, and a biggie tomato plant for only $10! I think I may have to swing by for this - a great deal for the biggie tomato plant itself! There are also drawings and giveaways... This is a review for the Glow Winter Festival that is currently being held until mid-December. They have beautiful displays worthy of pics with family, loved ones or just selfies. The only bad thing is that some will have a bit of a lineup to get your turn. The other thing which can be frustrating is the crowd, if you're trying to get a decent pic of something without people getting in the way. Can almost make a game of it. I went on a weeknight and it was very busy, so I can't imagine what it will be like on the weekends. There are a few things to keep the kids entertained, like a playground and stepping stone lights or the most popular was running through a bunch of hanging lights. They also have Santa there too. They also have concessions inside, outside food and drinks not allowed. The prices I saw were typical of fair ground prices. $2 for bottle water, $4.50 for small popcorn, $6.50 for mini donuts etc.. Also be warned, the lineup to get in the parking lot was long and took awhile. But we went at 6. I would suggest going around 730 or after, as I left at 8 and there was no lineup of cars any more. You only need like 2 hours at most I think. It goes 4-10. And nice it's all indoor so weather doesn't play a factor. Buy your tix online as it is a bit cheaper. It was cool to check out once, and I'm glad didn't go on a weekend since was pretty busy this night already. read more

I was excited to support my friend Cynthia McLaren who had her art displayed at the Night of Artists Art Show, which was held here. Having never been here before, I found it a bit confusing which entrance to use and once inside it would have been nice to see a sandwich board to tell you where to go. It's a neat idea to have as many stores as it does all under 1 roof. It was pretty quiet when I was there, so I'm not sure how busy it is normally. The selection in Amaranth Whole Foods Market and Sandyview Farms is quite impressive! Amaranth also has a vitamin and supplements store within their store. There was a wide variety of options for both stores... it was worth walking up and down the aisles to see all the different items they carry. If you wanted to come for a spa treatment, there is Wellness Within Health Center and Spa... and then you can grab your groceries before you head home. Upstairs, was Evoolution Olive Oils, Vinegars & Tasting Bar... it was awesome to try before you buy... and not only that, they also have written suggestion cards to help with pairings and ideas! The staff is super friendly too :) Hillaby's Tools for Cooks is a neat little store with again, a wide variety of unique items to choose from. I have to say... the service was the slowest ever at the Glass house Bistro & Cafe!! It was also super expensive for 2 drinks... I'd bring my own next time to save the aggravation. If you've got a green thumb, there was a nice selection of plants and gardening stuff as well. I attended the Art Show in the Moonflower Room, which is a pretty sweet venue. The glass let's in a tonne of light and the ceilings are high so it's very spacious and bright. It would be a great spot for those looking for a venue with the outside feel in our 6 months of winter... while being inside. I was curious what the room rental rate was and asked at the information desk where they gave me a card to the person who books it as they didn't know. Overall it's a neat concept, but just a bit pricey for some of the stuff they have to offer. read more

Inspite of it being on the expensive side, it is a very nice place to spend some time in winter. There is a health food store, a wild earth bakery, a greenhouse, a decore store, a women's clothing store, a wine store and a cafe. The cafe is bright and airy and has amazing views! The new Enjoy Centre is far more than just the reincarnation of Hole's Greenhouse. It is intended to be a hub for people and businesses interested in reducing their carbon footprint, locally produced items, and sustainable living. When you first enter, you are in the midst of the greenhouse, with lots of plants, gardening supplies, and books lining the shelves. Prairie Bistro is one one side, featuring locally-produced ingredients in items like sandiwches, soups, and baked goods. At the other end is a gallery paying tribute to the history of the Hole family is at the other end. A high-end home and cooking supply store is in the centre. Downstairs is a market with a deli and bakery. The products are largely local, organic, gluten-free, or some combination thereof. There is also a spa and an event centre that is available for bookings for things like large dinners and parties. The look and layout of the Enjoy Centre is very natural and earthy, and the staff members I dealt with were very friendly. It's beautiful, without a doubt. Just be prepared for some sticker shock - sustainable living does not come cheaply, at least not in this case. Definitely worth a visit if you are in St. Albert. read more

I have heard great things about the Enjoy Centre for years and FINALLY got to check it out in 2018 after attending Christmas Glow. The little coffee shop is fantastic. They make your order lightning fast and the latte's we got were amazing. They also have an Evoolution location here which was a nice surprise. The ladies working there really seem to know their products and offer good customer service. A bit of a sad vibe going on the day we visited though as well as it looked like a little kitchen accessory store was going out of business. Regardless of what part of the building your looking in things do seem to be a bit on the pricey side and in this economy I could see how people might be struggling to make a go of it there. I also have to agree with other reviewers who commented on the parking issues and lack of signage. The lot was quite icy the day we came which was a great source of anxiety for me as I have issues walking due to a health problem. I was not expecting it to be in the condition it was in for how busy the holiday event was. Also we could not figure out which door lead to what area of the building as there was just nothing outside for signage so we picked a door and just kind of wandered around till we found what we were looking for. If your not going to post signs at least have people walking the sales floor to help people out and get them pointed the right way. For those without their own transportation I also noticed public transportation seems a bit limited in this part of St. Albert. Still I would definitely give it another shot during garden season as I love plants and flowers just to see if the experience differs/improves in warmer weather when it would likely be busier. read more

Literally, The Enjoy Centre is my happy place. We just love it as a place to spend the afternoon as there's so much to see, do and eat. You can easily wander around for over an hour, checking out the great stores within like Hillaby's, Evoolution, the bakery, the market, the liquor store, the spa and of course, the greenhouse and garden area (and more!). It's the perfect place to find gifts for everyone on your list as there are a ton of unique items at every price point. Pop in and grab a latte and enjoy time in front of the funky wall or enjoy some locally sourced food and incredible eats (my favourite meal to eat here is brunch) at the Glasshouse Bistro & Cafe. Every time we've gone, the staff have been incredible. The selection of food and products in The Enjoy Centre makes you want to stay longer and it really turns into a great place to spend time with friends. Bonus, there's tons of free parking as well. They also have multiple spaces for events and they run them like rockstars. The Hubba Hubby and I had the opportunity to get married in front of that funky wall, plus take photos throughout the Centre. Having the opportunity to work with Julianna was so wonderful and we loved being able to source our wine from the on site liquor store, as well as all the food from The Enjoy Centre for our evening appetizer and wine wedding was perfect! I would definitely recommend hosting your event here too - it then makes your visits to your happy place even more special! read more

I held my wedding ceremony in the Park Room in the Enjoy Centre. I loved the look of the room and when I went to check it out (after looking at many, many venue options), I was greeted by one of their many courteous and helpful staff, who then continued to be amazing throughout my planning process. When I came for rehearsal, there was miscommunication about timing, and one of the staff members ended up having to stay much later than she had anticipated, but she didn't complain, she remained professional and helpful. The day of my wedding was even better. The enjoy centre offers many indoor locations for beautiful photos if you are afraid of what kind of weather may come your way, and also offers many fun & unique things for your guests to do & look at while waiting for wedding events to start. There is a ton of parking and it's right at the edge of St Albert coming in from Edmonton. My one and only complaint is the crazy price (for a ceremony spot alone). So The Enjoy Centre is not at all what I thought it would be like. I'm not a gardener. My green thumb has resulted in me killing a bamboo plant and a cactus, so I really was like, why would I want to go to a garden centre? But people had said The Enjoy Centre was, well to put it, enjoyable. Plus there was a LitFest event I was volunteering was being held there so I thought I would go in a bit earlier and see just how enjoyable The Enjoy Centre was. Yes, turns out The Enjoy Centre isn't just a bunch of greenhouses. Yes it has a gardening section (a huge gardening section), but there are also other parts of this gigantic store. Like how downstairs is this huge organic (I think?) market with a large section of Sandyview farm meats. There is apparently a liquor store (which was at the back and I didn't visit). There is Evoolution, a store specializing in olive oil and vinegar store - and they have little sample cups and pieces of bread so you can try before you buy. I know there was an event space, which was being used for some sort of Youth Festival that was going on. And I saw there were signs for a Yoga studio, but I didn't exactly see where it was. When I needed help finding out where the LitFest event was being held the lady on staff I asked for directions was very helpful. I spent quite a bit of time at The Glasshouse Bistro, since that's where the LitFest event was being held. It's a big open cafe, and I was a bit confused at how to order (seemed like cafeteria style, but I didn't know what side to stand on since the lineup wrapped around two sides - might be a good idea if they had an "order here sign"). They did, however have lots of lemon water available, and the cafe itself was bright and airy, with lots of tables and chairs to sit down at. There is also free wifi (for an hour). The Enjoy Centre is like a mall/a giant store/marketplace all in one. It's very open and bright, and while I'm sure it gets busy it didn't feel super crowded when I was there on a Saturday afternoon. If I lived in St. Albert or close enough to it I would probably be a regular visitor. It's right on the edge of St. Albert and it's pretty straightforward to get to from The Henday. If you haven't been to The Enjoy Centre it's worth a stop. read more

This past holiday season was the first year that the enjoy centre held their venue called "glow" that features indoor Christmas lights, shows and little train rides for totes. You can even purchase holiday drinks with liquor while your children wonder around and explore the festivities close by. This is a great place to be when you want tonchecknout lights walk around without your big coat and freeze outside. They even have a coat check by donation. If you ever get bored, you can even go downstairs and shop for groceries or check out their garden section. read more

I went to the Enjoy center to attend Glow Edmonton on a Friday December 1st. They had great crowd control and despite very far parking they had a very efficient shuttle service. We didn't wait long to and from our drop off locations. Glow was a great way to kick off the Christmas spirit and the best part was that it was indoors so you don't have to freeze while taking photos. They had a scavenger hunt for children and adults to complete. This is the perfect place for Christmas pictures with your loved ones and you can even take pictures with Santa. There was a makers keep market to shop from as well as a booth filled with random Christmas Knick knacks. My one and only purchase came from Holes greenhouse, a little whoville tree all done up for $30! Go enjoy the Christmas spirit with gorgeous lights! read more

Just checked out the Enjoy Centre for the first time to see Glow as well as eat at The Glasshouse Bistro. The food was awesome! I had this beat salad that was almost too pretty to eat and my husband had a burger with these amazing fries! I also had a hot chocolate and him a latté. Everything tasted really good. I thought the prices on especially the drinks were a little high but it all tasted good! The greenhouse portion was pretty. Lots of plants out, even in winter. The Glow event was super cool to see. It was pricey but when you see it (I can't imagine what their power bill is!!!), you can see the reasoning for the price. The Christmas store was alright. I thought there were more vendors than there was. So much of the stuff was for kids and babies! If you're looking for a date night, fun for the kids, or some awesome photo opportunities, I would definitely recommend checking it out! read more

This used to be a great place to walk around for hours. But it has slowly been losing its appeal. First - the closure of the deli area downstairs. I understand that it probably didn't have enough business to justify staying open, but it is a real shame. They had a great selection and was a main reason for me to come here. Amanrath is still open, but who knows for how long. Lots of gluten free and organic items for sale here, but I wonder how many people know about it. Prices seem reasonable, but I don't have much to compare it to, so I don't know for sure. I love that I can find things here that I can't find anywhere else - like Coconut La Croix carbonated water. If you've never been inside, you wouldn't know which entrance is best for your needs. There should be better signage. The parking lot up top is often crowded because people don't know about the additional parking and entrances down the hill. The shops are cute but expensive. Good for browsing, but not so much for actual shopping. The plant selection seems to get smaller and smaller, and I don't see much here that you can't get elsewhere. read more

WEDDING VENUE REVIEW DO NOT BELIEVE THE ENDORSEMENT IN BLUSH MAGAZINE. It was based on previous management and ownership and no longer applies. The venue itself is beautiful and unique, however the owners and management are a nightmare to work with. They will promise you all kinds of things before you book with them, and then will turn around 3 days before your wedding and threaten to cancel the event unless you pay an additional 80% for things that were supposed to be included in the original agreement. This includes items like staging, podiums, water glasses, sufficient tables, rafter speakers, cloth barriers... even access to certain amenities for your other vendors/caterers... the list goes on. The executive manager/head chef in particular should be avoided at all costs. He was extremely disrespectful to myself and my parents, and refused to honor promises and assurances that his previous event coordinators had made, suggesting instead that they had done so without the current managements approval. He lacks integrity and decency, and brings up these issues days before your event, when he knows that it is too late to arrange for these items yourself. This is the dirtiest kind of business and should not be trusted with your wedding or special event. We went through seven different event coordinators between the day we signed the contract and our wedding day. Each of these individuals were either fired or quit due to disagreements with senior management. And after having directly dealt with the executive management, it is not surprising. On our wedding day itself, the staff were exceedingly rude to our guests, stole bottles of vodka and craft beer, refused to provide water glasses to my grandparents and family, and tried to shut down the party early. They refused to return boxes for the cake and favors, and were exceedingly aggressive with our other vendors who were trying to clean up. Do Not Book With the ENJOY CENTER. And if you have already booked, cancel it. Your wedding day will be stressful enough, without having to worry about whether they will try to cancel your event or over charge you. And if you think this is an isolated event, please note, that we have encountered 3 other individuals with similar experiences. The enjoy center has been deleting unfavorable reviews and flooding their web pages with adds and positive messages. read more

Beautiful space. We attended an event here recently and I was quite impressed by the lighting, the many options of spaces to host events and activities, and the numerous stores and shops to frequent. While at first I found the organization of the space a bit confusing, we quickly found our event venue and the space was well-lit, large and had a good stage with good sight lines. Staff were very helpful for this special event and the washrooms are well labeled and quite accessible for this special event. If I lived in St. Albert, I'm sure I'd visit more often for events and activities. The greenhouse aspect is great also though we weren't here for that purpose. read more

Visit the place on a weekend and grab a beautiful brunch at the Glasshouse Bistro, a cup of delicious Iconoclast coffee from the cafe, some decorative plants from Holes, and a wheel of Sylvan Star gouda from the Amaranth Whole Foods Market. There's plenty to see and do at the centre for those who love to eat and shop local! The centre also hosts some great events, such as the Sturgeon Valley Wine and Food Festival, and produces some great programs and workshops for budding gardeners, sommeliers, and much more. This past weekend, I was up in Edmonton visiting some friends. One of them suggested we go check out the Enjoy Centre. As I'm an avid gardener and plant lover, she didn't have to ask twice. I was also excited to see this place since it is the dream child of Lois Hole, and if you know anything about her, this place would be fantastic. After a fairly lengthy drive, we arrived at the Enjoy Centre. It's quite an architectual creation. It has tons of windows because it is mainly a greenhouse. As we walked up the front, we were greeted by a lady who gave us a map. Down the stairs and in we go. First off, we come to a natural/organics store, I believe it's Amaranth. The one side is food, the other is more pharmacy. Off to the side is a spa and wellness retreat. Nice. We continue further to the moving sidewalk thing that takes us upstairs. That's where all the plants and flowers are. There didn't seem to be a real structure to the layout of things. You kinda just wandered down one side and then back up the other side. You would find bougainvillea, some other plants that I think will not survive our climate, coleus, some annuals, ornamental pepper plants, tomatoes, peppers, then up the other side you have some perennials, herbs, geraniums, pots, and all the other cute garden decorations. Down the middle you'll find lots of other neat things like watering cans, tie-backs, hand tools, and a zillion other things you might need for your garden. Off on each side of the building are these HUGE areas that are filled with plants and flowers. But the thing is you can't go back there. Yes you heard me right. You can look at all the pretty flowers but you can't get at them. You have to make due with whatever they put out. That is very very disappointing not to mention annoying as heck. They do have this really cool automatic chain thing rigged up that all the hanging baskets are on. It slowly moves the plants along so you may actually get to see more of what they have hiding back in the greenhouse areas. I did see an employee back there pulling out some huge fuschias to give to some customers. So perhaps if you see something you like, you may be able to get it. Otherwise, you might have to stand around waiting for the plants to slowly come by on the automatic moving apparatus. The prices of the plants were actually not bad. I got a tomato plant for $3. My friend bought a nice ornamental pepper plant (which was really popular) for $10, a lemon scented geranium for $6 and some herbs for $4. I figure that they are grown organically and probably good quality if Lois Hole's name is attached. Once outside, there is a fairly large area that trees, shrubs and larger plants are sold. We didn't go in but it looked pretty popular. Overall, I was pleased with the Enjoy Centre but not totally blown away like I had hoped. It's a hell of a drive and there are many places in town that you can get most everything I saw here at the same or lower price. In my opinion, it's a bit over rated. read more

Oooo, I just love the Enjoy Centre!! I have been out to by flowers and plants in the greenhouse/nursery. I have dropped in to grab lunch at the Glass House restaurant. Sipped wine in the wine bar area. Bought amazing cheese and meats in the deli department of the grocery store. Poked my head into the yoga studio & spa. And my favourite part; shopped the decor/home stores! I especially enjoy how at Halloween or Christmas, etc. they have so many lovely decorations and gifts.... I want it all! Recently I was in for the Sturgeon Valley Food and Wine Festival. I have to say, having an event in the huge glass ceiling events centre is just fabulous. It was airy and light. Warm and inviting. Being an avid gardener, I'd been wanting to visit The Enjoy Centre for the longest time, but I don't get to St. Albert very often, so it took a concerted effort to make my first visit. I recently won passes for the Sturgeon Valley Food and Wine Festival, so Allan G. and I visited for the first time. What a great place! I fully intend on coming back when I have more time to browse, and am husband-less. It's more of an Electric Laini-land kind of place. The festival was in the large open event space, but we also browsed in the kitchenwares store and took a quick run through the grocery market downstairs. Imagine a sort of Planet Organic, with all sorts of exotic products. I'd love to go stock up on interesting cheeses, chocolates, and goodies when I have more time. But I fully expect the prices to be astronomical, simply because of the products themselves and the environment in which they're being bought. Didn't make it to any of the eateries this time, simply because of our destination, but they could definitely use a few more vendors. I was still hungry afterward! Should have gone earlier and stopped in for a snack. :) And I definitely need to come back during the summer when the greenhouses are bursting at the seams. With us hoping to buy a house next year, I'll need plenty of plants to pretty up the garden! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this venue - I went out for a girl's night for the Glow Winter Festival, and I'd have to say they could not have picked a better venue for the event. The free parking was great, but the free shuttle to and from the parking lot was even better - would have been a very long, cold walk without it. I found it easy to navigate around the building as well and thoroughly enjoyed the event altogether. read more

The new Enjoy Centre is alright..it is technically a really nice place..looks great and there is lots to see and do....but it has certainly lost alot of the original atmosphere that Hole's always had. Which is a real shame.. This one is kind of tough because I don't even think I've seen or experienced all of it yet. The cafe is expensive and the staff don't seem too well informed about the ingredients of the food. I don't even try to eat there after having asked once. I went with my sister and mom for Mother's Day and ordered a drip coffee in my travel mug and they filled it three-quarters full. I asked them to top it up because I drink it black and that seemed to be quite the request. I got a bit of a glare over it. The coffee wasn't even that good. My sister and mom ordered specialty coffees and food and seemed rather pleased. The natural food store is kind of a mixed bag. Some things are pretty expensive compared to the same product I have purchased in other places. Other things are not bad. Of course, as always, it's important to read the labels as things aren't as healthy as they appear. Just because they're "natural" or "organic" doesn't mean you don't still have to consider the whole ingredient list. But that's always a given for me. The line-up was long but they do get people through reasonably quickly. What I really LIKE about it is that it still has the old Hole's Greenhouse vibe to it which I think Lois Hole would have really appreciated. I was fortunate enough to have met her several times and she was a wonderful woman and a gardening pro. There are a lot of innovative gardening implements like wall planters and such. There are some unique crafty items for the home and yard. A lot of it reminds me of suburbia. There are a number of little niche shops within that I can't remember enough to name off. I know there's one for kitchenware - like pots and pans and that sort of thing. They have a spa - apparently my sister and mom will be having massages there. I was turned off by the makeup they sell in the spa because it has tea tree oil in it which I'm quite allergic to. I love looking at the old pictures on the wall of Lois and her family on the farm. It reminds me of what a kind, giving person she was throughout her lifetime. She genuinely cared about people and smiled at everyone. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when I visited the Enjoy Centre this past week but I was very impressed. Impressed that something like this is in St. Albert as well as with the overall ambiance in such a huge place. I was a bit confused, at first, as to where Hole's left off and other stores started but it didn't matter....I wandered around aimlessly enjoying how I felt...relaxed, happy and filled with wonder. I perused and touched and bought...it is quite the experience. Very home-oriented so don't expect to find clothing, although there is a jewellery store that was intriguing. I love it and want to bring my husband back to experience it together....i can't wait! read more

I'll be blunt - I don't have previous experience with Hole's Garden Centre but I liked what I experienced. The Enjoy Centre looks beautiful, and it offers fantastic views. Boasting a spa, health food store, cafe and nursery, there's definitely quite a bit to do here. These elements all seemed to blend together rather well into one atmosphere - for examples, just because you were in the spa didn't mean you felt like you were in a different business. However, it does not feel like a close-knit nursery. It just doesn't. Partially because a great deal of the nursery is outside, and perhaps partially because they have too much room to work with. I'm used to the nursery's I visit being cramped and full of product. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that Enjoy Centre had less plants than I was expecting, considering it's size. If you can get past that, you'll find a lot here to entertain you. read more

I'm new-ish to Edmonton. When I first heard of Lois Hole Provinicial Park, I thought it was named after an actual physical hole, not a person. I never visited the original Hole's and the garden is more of Sarah's deal rather than my thing. So essentially, I have absolutely no connection to the old Hole's that a number of reviews refer to. Because of this, my review of the Enjoy Centre is a review of the building itself - which may have the most pleasant interior of any building in the Edmonton region. Sure, the cafe may be a bit expensive, and the Hole's Garden Centre may not live up to the old location, but the building is full of light. And the Amaranth Whole Foods Market in the basement actually offers decent prices on its food, at least compared to Planet Organic and Blush Lane. The liquor store also offers free wine tastes. Though when I went, I tasted a wine I wanted to purchase, and they happened to be out of stock. But it can be your happy place in the winter time or any other time you want to spend inside. read more

One of my favourite things to do in life is take a personal day here. I'll put on some comfy shoes, turn my phone off and just have a leisurely afternoon to myself. I will start my time there with a massage booked at the in-house spa, Wellness Within. There's no better way to ensure that you're really really relaxed during a personal day than by starting it with a massage. The spa space is lovely and they also offer yoga classes if you're into that. After my massage I will head upstairs where I will start the second part of my Enjoy Experience with a killer iced vanilla bean latte from the cafe, seriously one of the best iced lattes around. I currently live in a condo so I live out my gardening dreams as I wander through the greenhouse where the air is thick and heady with pollen and sunshine. After I've had enough of that I will spend another hour trying out all of the patio furniture on display before taking my sweet time wandering through Hillaby's, the kitchen goods store (I usually want everything in there, so if you ever have to buy me a gift I recommend you start there). And now that they've opened up an Evoolution outpost here I can sample and try out some new oils before I head back downstairs. Downstairs I'll wander the butcher and deli before heading across to the organic grocery store. After I've hit every aisle I can grab a crusty loaf of bread to eat with the olive oil I purchased upstairs and start making my way out the door, back to the real world where I have to turn my phone back on and people can reach me once again. If I'm feeling like I really deserve a treat I'll pick up some flowers for myself on the way out the door, because let's not forget why this place exists in the first place--flowers. read more

The Enjoy Center is a home/gardening mecca of sorts, they have the same square footage as some malls. I like that they have diversified since opening and now include a delicatessen (Sun Valley Farms), a scratch bakery, Whole Foods Grocer (Amaranth Foods), Spa, Yoga Studio, Liquor Store (Liquid Harvest), kitchen ware store, Restaurant and a Bistro. They also rent out some of the space for events like craft shows and of course the massive green house section they are famous for. Their prices at the bistro and the restaurant are to high for the service and the quality of the product ($9.00 for a Panini that makes hot pockets look gourmet and it took 30 mins to get). The staff are inexperienced and it comes through in their service. I have been asked to move seats because I was eating my bistro food in the restaurant area even though there was no one in the restaurant which is pretty ridiculous. It was not like I climbed over a fence to get there.(The chairs looked more comfortable so I wandered over) I haven't used the spa or the yoga studio but the décor of the front looks very relaxing and the staff are fairly pleasant. The kitchen ware store is like downloading the food network's celebrity chef's Christmas catalogue which is great except for the celebrity price tag. I did however find a few items I wanted that Call the Kettle Black was out of within my price range so that was a bonus. Their liquor store, Liquid Harvest is a great little spot they often have samples for you to try. The last time I was in they were offering whiskey which made my boyfriends day. He got to try stuff that he would never buy a whole bottle of and the staff really knew their stuff! Their price point is also very reasonable, I would compare it to Sherbrooke pricing. I have purchased a few loaves of bread from the bakery and all of them were great. My favorite, although I can't remember the name was the Texas toast loaf with sunflower seeds. I also get the chocolate croissants when I go because a) they are AMAZING and b) they are amazing! Good enough not to share, nuff said! Sun Valley Foods is a solid delicatessen with a great variety of sausage, cheese and both fresh and frozen meat. Along the back wall they have a shelf of sauces, chutneys, pickled products and a few other items that you expect to find in a deli. I love their knackwurst as well as elk smokies. Their nitrate free product range is also growing and includes bacon which is great as I know people with sensitivities. On the weekends they often have hot and cold samples of their sausages and a if you are lucky they offer cheese too. But by far the main reason I visit the Enjoy Center is for Amaranth Foods. It is a wholefoods / organic grocery store that gives Planet Organic a run for their money in terms of selection but often beats on price. They carry pretty much everything that you could want in the genre and also have a health and beauty section that is separately manned so you don't have to ask the lady stocking mangos which facial cleansers are vegan. The staff (Amaranth not the rest of the Enjoy Center) have to be some of the happiest and most pleasant people I have ever dealt with in retail. I spent almost 20 minutes speaking to two ladies about their favorite hummus recipes and they even took me to their favorite products to use if I needed to substitute. I pretty much do all of my grocery shopping here even though it is more expensive than the mega chains organic section. I like to support local and if I can help keep happy people employed in retail while doing it, I consider it a service to humanity! read more

Things have grown downhill fast . No more deli ,needles in the bathroom and plugged toilets .Too many empty spaces ,very rude cashier . What a let down . I used to love coming out here for the day .Clean up the place I won't be back for a long time . read more

I LOVE this place. It has the most zen environment, filled with plants and sunlight. It's wonderful. Honestly, you will feel so relaxed strolling through this place or sitting and enjoying a snack. The ambiance is fantastic. It would be a great place to take a date and browse through. The grocery store is cool. It's filled with a mixture of foods - local, organic, non-mainstream brands. For a little space, it offers a vast amount of selection for reasonable prices. The greenhouse was beautiful. Filled with rows and rows of different plants, gardening accessories, and knick knacks. Plus there are plenty of cute little houseplants in ready to purchase plants! read more

I got to experience Glow at The Enjoy Centre. There was definitely a lot of lights to walk around and look at. Most people were on their phones snapping photos. The venue is perfect for bolstering your social media accounts with pictures, but as for a date to walk around hand in hand it falls short. $29 a person is quite pricey for a 20 minute walk through. read more

One of my favourite places to go to just write. They have a great Cafe / bistro. Good and beverages are good. Bit pricey but a lot of it is green/sustainable food so I don't mind paying that little extra. The service was a bit slow when we arrived but friendly. The atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. Despite it being in the middle of no where it seems - the ability to feel outside even in the depth of our cold winters is golden. The place has a bakery, fantastic market/grocer, green house, indoor plants too!, and a liquor store. Definitely recommend to check them out! read more

Corporations are much like people. They can easily lose their way in life when they decide to "re-invent" themselves. If you don't think this is true, I invite you to visit the Enjoy Centre and compare it with your happy memories of the former Hole's Greenhouses. My own happy memory of the old Holes included the smells, the enthusiastic customers and the overflowing abundance of top quality plants. It was easy to find a cart for purchases and the parking was convenient to the entrance. As soon as you entered the old Hole's, you knew right away that these were people who were good at what they did and they knew their business. The Enjoy Centre is located as far from the old location as it could move and still be in St. Albert, as if it was distancing itself from everything it once was. It's in an industrial area on Riel Drive. It's easy to end up in the wrong parking lot because the address isn't in my year-old GPS. Once in the correct parking lot, there's a sign that directs you to the entrance, down a wide, curved stairway. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THAT SIGN! It just leads to the restaurant, an organic food market and other high-priced things I didn't come to buy. Just to the left of that misleading bit of data are two doors, one labeled "Exit" and the other "Business Entrance" I suggest that you enter by the Exit because that's the only way to get a cart to carry out all your purchases. There's a third entrance called "Events" but I assume you need to be a lucky soul with an invitation to get in that one. If you're an obedient soul and decide to enter by the entrance, it's a long walk past all that overpriced food, drink and bric-a-brac to the good stuff in the nursery. I know that Allan Kellogg gave the Enjoy Centre a good review in the Journal recently but he only ate there and even he had to admit that it was expensive eating. As for us, my wife ate there once and wouldn't go back. When I trek all the way to a remote area of St. Albert, it's because I have limited time to get my plants for my garden. I have enough organic food and overrated restaurants in Edmonton, thank you very much. The nursery is a miserable remnant of what Hole's once was. It's difficult to find the specific plants you want. They seem to have rearranged everything from the previous year so past knowledge won't help. There's something called a "concièrge", which for me conjures up that cranky old man/woman who guards the entrances of Parisian apartments and makes the lives of visitors absolutely miserable. This particular concièrge was disguised as an empty kiosk, so they weren't any help to find what I wanted. Fortunately the staff do know the layout but they spend all their time answering questions. Half of what I wanted was out of stock and I ended up making two trips to get everything. Yes, the nursery is also expensive but I concede that what they have is of good quality. Overall, the Enjoy Centre has forgotten that it was the nursery that made them great. I find the change of name and format especially disheartening when the Hole Family has such a revered name in the Edmonton Area. By adding unrelated businesses to their portfolio, they haven't concentrated on their core competencies. It makes for a frustrating visit or visits in my case. So this venue aesthetically is quite beautiful. It truly is an elegant setting for a any large party or event (my sister's wedding in our case) as the flower, trees, and high ceilings make it quite stunning. The kryptonite of this beautiful venue, unfortunately, are the staff and management that conduct business here. Having been involved in planning numerous weddings and business events in the past. I have never met a more unprofessional group of managers and employees. Our relationship with the Enjoy Center began approximately 1 year prior to the wedding date where we began negotiating our contract. At first discussions were quite professional and to be expected from a large business as this. Over the course of this year, the centre had changed event coordinators 7 times. That should have been the first tip off of worries to come. 3 days prior to the date, their most recent coordinator attempted re-negotiate our contract culminating in an increase in overall cost on the level of many thousands of dollars. Despite our negotiations with past coordinators, they would not honor what the previous event coordinators had agreed upon. They even threatened to cancel the entire wedding if we did not agree to their demands! At this point we had to seek legal consultation from a corporate lawyer such that we knew what steps to take. Thankfully we had documented the details of each meeting prior to confirm what had been said and agreed upon. After a lot of "hard ball" back and forth we came to a compromise so as to not risk the chance they would cancel the wedding. That was just a flavor of the heart ache we experienced from the management. At the wedding, the servers were rude to our guests and the bar was understaffed. Bartenders refused to shut down the bar at certain times during the night and ended up delaying the events of the wedding. I physically had to stand behind the bar to stop them from serving after asking them 4 times to close the bar such that people would return to their seats and the bride and groom would enter. Beyond this I strongly suspect they stole much of the alcohol. Much of the craft beers that we had purchased had not been drunk by any guests. When I asked them to show me any empty craft beer bottles or boxes, they refused. When we brought this up with the Event Coordinator and Owner, they claimed we didn't purchase enough alcohol. They claimed that we ran out of beer and the guests were upset because we no longer had beer to offer. The strange thing was that the bartenders did turn over some beer back to us, the generic molson canadian. So we hadn't actually ran out as they claimed, and yet the expensive drinks had all gone missing. For any who would like their wedding at this venue.... I would strongly urge you to re-consider. It will only plague you with heart ache. If however you truly feel the venue is worth it (because it is stunning) I would recommend bringing your own bartenders, or making them keep a tally of the empty bottles to ensure that things are not stolen. I would also recommend recording conversations with the event coordinators such that you have clear documentation to hold the center liable on their agreements. Also be sure to discuss every detail you can (whether there will be water served, whether there will be glasses for said water, whether there will be ice for the water, whether servers will serve water or only the bar, etc) as they will attempt to price hike you later and claim that these were services not included in the previous contract. First, let me say that they have a fabulous selection of plants. You are guaranteed to find whatever it is that you need here. And I recommend getting everything you need in one trip, as this is not the type of place you will be keen on navigating on a regular basis (more on that later). It would be wise to set aside an entire afternoon, as there is much to look at, and you wouldn't want to feel rushed. I was skeptical, as the prices are more than what you would pay at a place like, say, Superstore. However, after seeing how my plants are flourishing in my garden in comparison to the cheaper plants, I would say it's worth it - especially if you are investing in some bushes and/or trees. However navigating the centre is not "Enjoy"-able. Their staff is very friendly and helpful, though, and always pointed me in the right direction. It's utterly confusing and, if you need shrubs, bushes or trees, I would recommend getting them first. Why? Well, that particular section involves nagivating down multiple, circular, sloping levels, at which point you have to push your heavy cart all the way up again (not fun if you have bags of soil weighing you down). Anyway, I'm luke warm on The Enjoy Centre. I love the concept, and I think it's a great addition to St. Albert however, being from Edmonton, I'm not sure I would ever make the trip there more frequently than once a year to get the important garden stuff. read more
