Fairly busy place, but this is a resort (Wintergreen) far from civilization so selection is limited. Food was good, service was okay. The Shrimp Special was a very good deal. I had the Fondue Cheese Burger. Not bad, but it was a little messy. The others in the group all had the Strawberry Salad. Also order the French Fries, very tasty.

I was driving from Lynchburg back to our Gettysburg address and found the Edge using an internet search for restaurants. After what seemed like an eternity of my Tundra climbing a mountain, my GPS described that I had arrived. The signage wasn't particularly clear, but after climbing a flight of stairs and seeing ski lifts, I noted the designation for The Edge. I didn't see many cars down below even though the internet said it was open late, but I was relieved to find them open. I was cheerfully greeted and permitted to choose my own (window) seat where I perched myself pronto. I ordered the 4 bean chili which was served in a jiffy and which was scrumptious (I'd not eaten since breakfast and was here at 4pm on a Saturday. The price was a bit hefty, but I don't mind paying for quality. Dessert wasn't an option as I had another 4 hours before getting home. The restaurant is spacious and quiet, and the music was from the 70s which is up my alley. Botton line: high quality in a great location atop a mountain!

So first of all, shout out to our amazing waitress! Both times we came in! We loved her! On top of everything, super sweet, and we couldn't rave about her more! Give that girl a raise! She's even in our pic below! Second, the food was good! Good good! We always do apps, especially when traveling, and we had a few of them. The nachos. The tots. The cheese curds (do the onion gravy with them!). The drinks were on point! We even ordered the nachos and curds our second time in. The rest of the staff was great too! Our last night in a bunch of the staff members were having dinner together, for what looked like some of them leaving for the season to go back home, and I had the pleasure of snapping a few group shots for them. Some we recognized from the resort, others it was our first time seeing, but they were all friendly with great personalities. Overall, give this place a shot! You won't be disappointed!

Due to Yelp reviews, we didn't expect to be blown away. Google reviews however, paint a completely different picture. Interesting... We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter with a smiling face. She was super nice! Service was very speedy as well! The issue was the food smh. It's really not that hard to make fries, wings and chili. We literally thought we played it safe by just ordering simple items. We asked for the wings to be fried extra crispy but yet they came out well UNDERCOOKED. Idk if she got the order wrong or what but the fries came out OVERCOOKED. The fries were basically potato chips. Chili was basic, no flavor. I added a bunch of Tabasco sauce to try to dress it up. Pickleballer drink was listed as a popular item but I was underwhelmed. It's just pickle juice mixed with alcohol. Well it's safe to say that it was a one and done for us... But this type of establishment will thrive simply because of its location. They have no incentive to improve...It couldn't thrive as a stand alone restaurant.

This is one of my favorite places in the mountain. I love their kids options. The salads are tasty and generous. The fries are excellent! I even found the article to be attentive and accurate. I'm not sure why they are higher rated. Don't think twice. Just go.

This place is attached to the Wintergreen Ski Resort. It's very much... okay. Didn't have high expectations since this place is getting 99% of its customers out of convenience, and it settled right in with what I was expecting The pros: staff was great and fast. The beer was flowing great. If you're coming here just for drinks, it's a good time. The windows also give a good view of the slopes. The cons: the food. I ordered the salmon, which was cooked well, but very small. Had to borrow some fries from a friend even though I paid $25 for my plate. I counted 3 cauliflower pieces in the liquid under my salmon. Not something I'd recommend for its price. My fiancé got the burger, as did the rest of the party. Those looked pretty standard, so play it safe here.

I came here with the homies enjoying a lovely thanksgiving break. Staying up at wintergreen for the night is the perfect way to end this lovely break. This restaurant has amazing vibes with very kind and friendly waiters with great service. I believe this is one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had .

When I come to Wintergreen during ski season, you can't get into The Edge, but summer is a different story. We're lucky that we have friends who own property in the area and they frequently invite us up for the weekend. We usually go up to Wintergreen during ski season but decided to go hiking in the area. After our morning hike, we decided lunch was in order and debated driving down the mountain, but decided to just eat at The Edge. I was game since I hadn't eaten here before. Wintergreen is in the middle of a refurbishment, and I think it's going to be awesome when it's finished. I hope The Edge is on the list. Right now, it's pretty tired. The menu has some appetizers, sandwiches, a few salads, burgers...you get it. The menu is in line with an Applebee's, although they do dress things up a bit, like adding kimchi to a-turkey burger. For my meal, I ordered a Bloody Mary and a kimchi burger with a side salad. The Bloody Mary was just okay, but it did have interesting garnishes. I ate the burger patty without the bun and quickly figured out they use preformed frozen patties (I think the same as their fast food place). It was just okay. The side salad was good and big enough for 2 people to share. I had requested the salad instead of fries, but our server just added the salad to our order. It was fine...I gave the fries to my daughter. I don't know if I'd eat here again. I might have drinks and an appetizer, but I didn't really care for the food.

Good food selection for casual place and great beer selection. We've been there several times over the years and enjoy it.

And then returned for a delicious brunch on Sunday morning before heading home. The wine selection was not what my husband or I would like to drink with a nice dinner, but when we asked our waiter if there was a more extensive list she was able to check the back and came out with a delicious wine (Caymus) that we both love and were so glad they had on hand. The pricing for the bottle was also excellent, not an extravagant up charge. Julia was our waitress both evenings and she was absolutely fabulous, excellent taste in meal choices and so attentive. With covid having made some of the dining options at Wintergreen close it was so nice to have this location available for a nicer meal. Our first night we enjoyed the chefs special broccoli/cheese soup, Pear & Goat Salad, chefs special of Duck, and the Classic New York Style Cheesecake. All were FABULOUS. The second evening we enjoyed the Soup De Jour, Pear & Goat Salad, baby gem Caesar, Sea scallops, and the Creme Brûlée. All our food was absolutely delicious and cooked exactly to what we ordered. 10/10 would recommend this place and we will most definitely return on our next trip to wintergreen.

The inside reminds me of a Chili's or Ruby Tuesday, but a bit darker. I think it's a nice atmosphere, appropriate for date night, a group, a family, etc. Our server (who has worked here for 3 years) was friendly and efficient. To start, we ordered a bowl of yesterday's soup special (She crab) and a small order of boiled shrimp. The soup was excellent, creamy, and with small pieces of crab throughout. The shrimp (six in the small order) were prepared well and came with a tangy cocktail sauce. The server brought over a loaf of their complimentary bread, which is actually three breads together in a single loaf. The bread was good (I preferred the dark loaf part) and came with a peach butter. We were told that the butters change periodically. The butter had pieces of peach in it (!) and we enjoyed the novelty. Our server mentioned that they also have a pistachio butter and maple butter. Yum. I ordered a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. The salad itself was good - fresh, with crisp lettuce, tomato, cucumber, apple, almond pieces, etc. Then there was the dressing. Although I mixed the salad dressing in the cup before tasting it, when I did taste it, it was almost all oil with no discernible vinegar or other flavor. I kept stirring and tasting and nothing. So I abandoned the dressing. For entrees, my partner ordered the charbroiled salmon in herb butter with a side of broccoli. The salmon was prepared well and very tasty. I ordered the mahi-mahi, with the sun-dried tomato butter sauce on the side. The mahi-mahi was well prepared and tasty on its own. Honestly, I tasted the sun-dried tomato butter sauce and it was essentially whipped butter. I didn't think it added anything to the entree so I didn't use it. The potato came with butter and sour cream on the side. The potato was very good. Although we were full and not planning on dessert, the server came over with small cups of peppermint ice cream, calling it a "palate cleanser." It was very good and a nice touch. Other than the salad dressing and the sauce for the fish, it was an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere with good service. When we were leaving at around 7:00 pm, the line was out the door.

But the beer had other ideas. As expected, it was excellent--cold, confident, and clearly in no mood to be rushed. Everything was clean and orderly. The burger arrived and did not disappoint. Honest, well-made, the sort of meal that reminds you why you ordered it in the first place. My wife's brisket sandwich, meanwhile, was everything brisket ought to be--tender, rich, and just indulgent enough to feel like a reward rather than a mistake. Fries came alongside, hot and crisp, doing their job without complaint or ceremony. And then, on the way out--as these things tend to happen--we stopped at the bar. That's where we met Vance. What followed was less a quick cocktail and more a conversation with drinks attached. The cocktails were excellent, but the company made them memorable. Vance makes a great adult beverage. All in all, Devil's Backbone isn't just a place to eat and drink. It's a place where a simple plan quietly turns into a better evening than you expected.

The space itself gives you a family bar feeling. Looks like it would be a great locals spot. They had enough tables for any size groups and it was very clean. The pork rinds, FRIEND, those were probably the highlight of my meal. The sizzle and pop, the crunch, flavor...I'm drooling just thinking about them again. I don't think I can ever have them from a bag again. 5/5 Main Coarse we ordered the mac-n-skilled with pulled pork, the kids chicken taco with tots, brisket stuff shells, and brisket Philly cheesesteak with a side of hush puppies. Mac-n-skillet, the meat was a tad bit dry but had a good amount of cheese. Creamy. Only downside was the pork. 3.5/5. The Brisket Philly was cheesy, meat was good, great flavor just a bit too greasy. Hush puppies were good, nothing stood out in particular. 4/5. The kids chicken taco and tots were ok. Not enough cheese and the tortilla was hard, tots were just right. 3.5/5. The brisket stuffed shells were unique, loved the flavor just a bit too much cheese to meat ratio for me personally. The brisket was cooked perfectly.
