Great little spot in downtown Wallingford for lunch! They have a pretty large menu of specialty sandwiches and you can also create your own. I tried the #10 (forgot the name) which had grilled chicken, arugula, goat cheese and mandarin oranges on ciabatta bread with a side of broccoli cheddar soup. Both were delicious and fresh! I also wanted to try their fresh apple cider but they were out by the time we arrived. We'll definitely be coming back here the next time we're in the area. read more

This place is nothing shy of amazing! The food is so fresh and flavorful. I had the tuna (the fisherman). It had corn in it which was a wonderful twist. Stumbled in, and LOVED IT! Excellent Coffee, way too many sandwich choices- almost too many. They offered GF bread, and it was very good. Had a chicken pesto sandwich and I ate every last crumb. Good sandwich shop - they use high quality ingredients like Boars Head meats and bring in fresh baked breads and doughnuts from NYC every morning. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches however it falls short of 5 stars for a few reasons: they leave the door open so the place is filled with flies. From the fresh bread to the delicious meat any sandwich never disappoints! My favorite one is the Douglas. Turkey, spinach, the best cranberry relish EVER, and spinach. It comes with cheese but I can't eat that so they accommodate my food allergy. I get it on cibatta or a wrap grilled. Heaven between two pieces of bread really! The service is fast and so friendly! Stopped in after going to Gouveia Vineyards with some friends. We literally walked in 10 minutes before closing and the owners were amazing/so nice/did not look like they hated us even though I'm sure they did and let us sit inside even though they were technically closing. Say yes to the Bronut. Chicken, bacon, and melted cheddar on a grilled glazed donut with powdered sugar sprinkled overtop. They gave me a knife and fork because it's a little sticky but I just shoved it in my face with my hands and couldn't stop. I'm often weary of ordering grilled chicken at a sandwich joint because the chicken tends to be dry and void of flavor. This chicken was juicy and tender and delicious. The Eatery is maybe my favorite deli, like, ever. I've tried a bunch of different wraps off their regular menu now, along with several of the daily specials, and everything is consistently phenomenal. My go-to is the #10 aka the Savannah Chicken, and that honey-bacon dressing is out of this damn world. They open at 9am now and offer breakfast wraps till noon and I can't wait to get there in time to try one!! Went to Fran's bakery up the street (delicious poppy horns btw...) and decided to find somewhere local to eat. Yelp never steers me wrong-needless to say it came through again with flying colors!!! The Eatery was delicious! I got Mesa Verde on ciabatta and my wife got grilled cheese on ciabatta with America, Swiss, pepper jack.... to die for. Leah was wonderful and more than willing to explain the many available options. The food here is fantastic. They just recently started serving breakfast based on their regular sandwich lineup and it is superb. This is definitely the best breakfast wrap around. I've tried the #3am (Based on the Matador, including roasts beef, roast peppers and chipotle horseradish), #7am (avocado, pico, delicioso) and the BCB, buffalo chicken (egg) bacon. All amazing. You won't find your typical sandwiches like,steak and cheese,chicken parm,meatball grinders,unless it comes up on the specials board and then it will be a true special. Such a cute little place! The menu has tons of options. I got the 2 AM sandwich. It had ham, three scrambled eggs, spinach, vermont cheddar cheese, and apple mustard slaw. It was delicious!!! I normally pass by this place in favor of other well-known eateries in downtown Wallingford. A coworker talked a couple of us into going there for the first time today. When we first walked in, the place seemed very quaint. It doesn't have a ton of seating, but we lucked out with the one larger table being open. Overall, it was a nice atmosphere. The woman who took our order was very pleasant and helpful. The menu is quite expansive with probably a dozen specialty sandwiches, a handful of different salads, quinoa bowls, breakfast options and plenty more. It was actually overwhelming at first. I ordered a #3 which was a roast beef with chipotle Gouda, roasted reds, and horseradish sauce. Choice of breads included ciabatta, multi-grain, or wrap (there may have been more, again I was overcome by choices). I went for the multi-grain It came with a choice of sides, and I opted for the lemon pasta salad. The food came out promptly, and included a pickle. Always a plus. All in with a drink was about $12. It was well worth it for the quality. I will definitely be trying this place again. read more

When we first moved to Wallingford nearly two years ago, we had a meal or two at the eatery. Life got in the way and we haven't been back until today. We know the owners through a mutual charitable organization and they are incredibly friendly. And...can't you always feelgood about supporting a local business that gives back? Today, I had the PB&J with bacon special and a side of sweet potato salad. The potatoes were sweet and roast-y with corn and peppers. The sandwich was toasted and gooey and delicious.
