EATery + Mammoth Brewing = AWESOME!!! Been here many times while visiting Mammoth Lakes during all seasons of the year. The food here is great, and it is great to be able to order the different beers Mammoth Brewing has to offer. The beers are terrific; super wide selection of their regular offerings plus a changing lineup of seasonal beers. My favorite is the Epic IPA. Location is terrific and the (improved) outdoor setting is perfect, great views, dog friendly, COVID safe. The menu is normally a lot more dynamic, but with COVID there is a somewhat limited menu that does not change as much as "normal". We stopped here over a weekend while we were skiing and snow adventuring and the food was awesome. They don't have a huge menu but they have some great options from little appetizers like fries and tots, to salads and a hefty burger. We got the flatbread, chop chop chicken salad, Caesar salad and tried their fries - all of which were amazing. The service was also quite quick and considering the place was very busy that was a pleasant surprise. I LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I loved it so much we ate dinner here two nights in a row - and both nights were delicious! Note: Mammoth Brewing and the Eatery share the same space. If you found one, you found them both. Here's how it's done: 1. Grab a beer at Mammoth Brewing 2. Find seating, then... 3. Stand in line and order food The food comes out quickly - the longest wait is the line to place the order. There is plenty of seating on three floors. Upstairs is most popular with another bar, TVs, booths and shared picnic tables. The main level has bar seating near windows and a few, large tables. And downstairs has plenty of seating but I found it claustrophobic and dated. The food was fantastic! On the first night, my boyfriend had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with cheddar and fried pickles. I had the crispy polenta with burrata, arugula and fried thyme. It was amazing! We also indulged on the bread fries, served with a thick cheese sauce. So good! On our second visit, we tried the homemade tater tots (also great, but the bread fries were better), fennel sausage, mushroom and fontina flatbread pizza and shrimp po' boy. The flatbread was wonderful, with plenty of cheese but not greasy. The po' boy had a great flavor but they have to use smaller shrimp. One the first bite, a huge shrimp went flying to the floor because they are just too big to bite with bread and other sandwich fillings. Beer is great, food service is GARBAGE. Let's be clear - we paid for a steak sandwich, falafel sandwich and kid's hot dog and never received them. We have been sitting here for over and hour and still haven't received our food. We ordered 2 items from the bar menu only to have to wait in another separate 45 min line to order a kid's hot dog. Of course, they are so pretentious the kid's menu isn't posted so you have to 'ask'. The food and beer businesses are separate and the food system is stupid. When we asked about our order, the bartenders tried to get an update but the restaurant folks were complete assholes to them. This after other people after us got they'd orders, ate and left. I felt so bad and asked to cancel but was told we had to go back in the 45 min line to cancel. After another 20 mins we asked to take our food to go, then were told our initial order wasn't placed and that it's common that some orders get 'lost' because of the internet. So, no, no food. Are you serious?! We are now at 1 hour and 20 mins, still counting. No apology, but they were sure to charge our credit card with 20% tip. As far as I'm concerned, the EATery has the best food in Mammoth, certainly among the places I've been to. It's located in the Mammoth Brewery, so you can grab a local brew or two to enjoy with your food (the beer's good too). You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to a table you find yourself. On Friday night in October, it's lively but there's plenty of places to sit. Sort of a family friendly joint for a brewery, as you might expect at a ski resort. Everything we ordered was great. Hoppy Tater Tots were zingy and crispy, the Banh Mi was on point, and the Irish Caesar Salad was uniquely done and big on flavor with nice chunks of bacon. The star of the show turned out to be the Shrimp and Grits. I know, I was a bit skittish about shrimp so far from their home down in the ocean. But do not hesitate, it was huge and quite tasty, not really done traditionally but very satisfying with one of their beers. And, all of the above (excluding alcohol) for about fifty bucks, easily filling up two hungry folks on the road all day. Highly recommended. read more

After a long day of hiking, a burger and beer flight from the EATery is sure to satisfy those hunger pangs. It's a large burger, so definitely come hungry. They also have an interesting array of beers, from different IPAs to stouts to sours. You order at a counter, and then take your number to the table. We had a large group of 7 (came in around 7ish on a Sunday in October with no wait), so we also shared a bunch of appetizers. We got the cheesy hash browns, the waffle fries, and beer pretzels. The cheesy hash browns were the winner for me, followed by the waffle fries because of the aioli that came with it. The beer pretzels were less like pretzels and more of breadsticks. Mountain dining usually tends to be bland and overpriced, so I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. read more

Mammoth is not a town known for great restaurants, but the Eatery is changing that. Located inside of Mammoth Brewing Company, the food was great. It is very casual, and you can order your beer or beer flight if you are tasting, then order your food and head upstairs where there is plenty of seating. They will deliver your food to your table. We found the food to be excellent, the service top notch and you can't ask for more. It is a little pricey, but it is to be expected in a tourist town. Mr. Bee had the Shrimp and Grits. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a lovely Creole butter with bacon. They sat atop smoked cheddar grits that were really creamy and had a ton of flavor. I opted for the Black Current and Goat Cheese Flatbread. It is a large portion and easily shareable for a nice appetizer. The flatbread was covered in Black Current and Balsamic Syrup, with Goat and Gruyere Cheese, Cipollini Onions and a garlic coulis. The entire flatbread is topped with Baby Greens. I definitely recommend dining at The Eatery. I can imagine it gets really crowded during tourist season. The parking lot is good sized, the views of the mountains are beautiful and if you are staying at The Villages or The Westin, it is an easy walk. read more

What's not to like? :) BACKGROUND This past August a group of us who've been camping together for over 12 years decided to head down south from June Lake to eat lunch. SPLIT OPERATIONS The EATery is attached to the Mammoth Brewing Company and is inside the Brewery itself. They're separate operations so you have to order/buy from one and then the other. PRO TIP: If you're with someone and want to be efficient, decide what you want from both stores and split up to order at the same time. FOOD Excellent. As everyone has written, the waffle fries are outstanding. As we had a big group, we all sorta shared each other's food esp. the waffle fries. Quantity wise, The Eatery doesn't fool around. You get what you pay for here and quality wise too. The wife and I split the "Damn Good Burger" and true to it's name, it was. The selling point for us was the Bacon Jam, which we have come to love thanks to the 310 Eatery in Albany, CA. Everything about the burger was outstanding from the bun (though I despise brioche buns) to the meat to everything in between. A solid 5/5. We bought a Carne Asada waffle fries plate to share. And everyone at the table did share and there was still some left. I mean yes, others did get the same thing but even so, there were still a lot of fries left. The meat was even tender, which alot of places don't get right and often times the meat is tough and chewy. ATMOSPHERE The patio area is huge and on gravel dirt, so walk gently as to not stir up the dirt. Most of the benches are covered, which is always nice. There's a little section of the patio which is carved out for playing corn hole (someone really needs to change the name of that game). They do have inside seating I think, but we opted to choose to sit outside because there was over 12 of us plus 3 dogs. RETURN VISIT? Emphatically yes! We stopped by this restaurant on the way to Mammoth. I got the Philly steak sandwich, slaw, and the churro fries. I split all of the food with another person and we were both full so the portion sizes were pretty decent. Out of all the food we ordered, I liked the churro fries the best. They were very soft and warm and came with two sauces: a raspberry and a chocolate. The meat in the phillycheese steak was very soft and tender and they definitely didn't skimp on the meat which I really appreciate. The slaw was okay but wish it wasn't as dry as it was. I liked how the restaurant was self seating so we got to choose to sit next to a very big window that had a beautiful view of the snow covered mountains. Some new restaurants have popped up since I last came to Mammoth, and the EATery is one of them. Once you step inside, you are welcomed by a warm, cabin-y, cozy feel. There were many people hanging out, it was loud, and spacious. The line to order upfront took 45 minutes, but the food is so worth it. Their menu is mostly comprised of comfort/bar food, those nice, big, warm meals you crave after a day on the slopes. House Made Tots: you only get 8 pieces for $7, and they had a weird after taste. Wouldn't recommend these. The ketchup was spicy, but the onion sauce was good. Pulled Pork Sandwich: 11/10. A buttery bun, tender, flavorful pork, tasty aioli, and refreshing cole slaw. This dish was perfect all around. Crispy Chicken and Griddle Cakes: We thought they would be more like pancakes, but it was a corn breadish sort of thing; it was yummy, nonetheless. I didn't get to try the chicken, but my dad enjoyed the plate. Polenta and Burrata Salad: This was the healthiest option on the menu. The salad also came with mushrooms and balsamic vinaigrette. If I told you that everything I just described could be found in one place high atop the Sierras, would you believe me? Before you answer, open your eyes and keep reading! So a few weeks ago, my friends and I spent a couple days exploring the depths and peaks of the Sierra Nevada. During our first night, we wanted to grab a really decent sit-down meal that was more than just fast food or diner food. Thanks to Yelp we came across the EATery, a new casual "eatery" in the lively town of Mammoth Lakes. The really interesting thing we quickly learned about EATery was that it operated inside a beer garden by the name of Mammoth Brewing Co. Basically, EATery provided dining options for people who wanted more than just alcohol. In terms of the menu, there really weren't that many options. EATery kept it real small by only offering probably ~20 different dishes. Fortunately, some choices were vegetarian so that's a plus for all y'all healthy nuts. Prices for this place were also fairly affordable. One could argue that $14 for a salad or even $2 to add an egg to your order might sound expensive. But after you've had a chance to try their food I guarantee that you'd change your mind. I ended up staying clean and got the Polenta and Burrata Salad with an egg and a glass of their lemonade. Here's what I thought of the whole EGGperience: -- LARGE PORTIONS, GOURMET FOOD -- SO GOOD! Coming in, I had decent expectations about the quality of the food at EATery. I mean, reviews looked great and all but I didn't expect it to be as worthwhile as it turned out to be. Polenta and Burrata Salad (10/10): I usually avoid ordering salads at restaurants from fear that they'll end up being overpriced and lackluster, but not this time. I was definitely glad to have ordered the Polenta and Burrata Salad because DAMN...hella delicious. The cheese added a nice touch, the crispy polenta provided some warmth to the salad, the greens were very fresh, and I loved the giant pieces of mushroom! Plus it all came together with a tangy truffle sauce that wasn't overwhelming at all! My favorite part had to be that $2 egg. It was MASSIVE, cooked perfectly, and drizzling with yolk. Lemonade (10/10): If you decide to come here you HAVE to get their lemonade. For $3, I got a HUGE glass filled with sweet and sour goodness. Not gonna lie, it was enough for two people. -- DAZZLING ATMOSPHERE -- As I've described above, EATery had an atmosphere you'd come to expect in a log cabin. It's very open, there's wood everywhere, and setting just felt so welcoming. I definitely loved that there were TVs everywhere playing sports! Great place for a casual meal. -- DARN GOOD SERVICE -- One of the best parts about EATery wasn't the food, but actually the service. Specifically, I LOVED our cashier. He was very friendly and courteous, spending almost 5-10 minutes talking to us about where we should go around the area. I would probably come back just for him! EATery was located at the heart of Mammoth Lakes, right along Main Street. Getting here was really easy for us since it's a straight, 4 mile drive from U.S. Highway 395. Furthermore, parking was a breeze since the lot's pretty big! If you have trouble finding this place, just remember that it's right inside the brewery! Overall, I would definitely recommend The EATery to anyone who is traveling to or around the Sierra Nevada region. Food: Roasted Peach and Goat Cheese Sourdough Flatbread Rating 7/10 Crust was solid but I think that everything would've benefited from a bit more thought- cheeses (as other reviewers noted) were inconsistently melted- but hey, mammoth folks might not be obsessed with melty cheese- so the flatbread should be put in the oven with just the cheese and onions, to get a consistency of browning and melting, hit it with the goat cheese and peaches halfway but the peaches should already be roasted peaches, not peaches being roasted on the pizza. That one thing makes the execution of the flatbread a bit soggy, and they overdid the goat cheese a bit. Not too mad because I love goat cheese but still, just throwing these suggestions out there to the chefs. It was still tasty. Arugula would've been better than whatever thry currently have on top of it. I hope to try a fig? Or someone in the reviews said black currant? I'll be back. Churro Fries Rating 9/10 Love. Only thing is they skimp on the sugar in the dough and the dusting to encourage your use of the sauces for obvious reasons. A powdered sugar option might solve this for me.
