I love a good local spot and will drive out of the way to support one. After hours on the road I happened upon The Eatery hiding a few miles off the interstate in Fillmore. This local spot sits on a corner lot and is connected to a small market. With a super cute vibe inside I knew walking in we'd love it. Seating is limited and we were lucky to get a table. You can order at the counter to go as well. Service was very friendly. The menu has so many good options including a good looking salad bar. I settled on the French dip and fries, my son chicken tenders and my husband the club sandwich. It was cold so I also ordered a coffee. Everything came out so quick. My French dip was phenomenal. The aus ju was hot and added more flavor. The sandwich itself was so full of flavor, meat tender and juicy. Fries were good, but wish they'd had more seasoning. My husband loved the sandwich. He said adding the pickles made it even better. Most clubs we order at home don't come with pickles. Service was great, we talked with the woman who was not only helping in the restaurant, but running the market as well . She let us know they were short handed. The only reason I gave them a star is because they were very nice and attentive, BUT how can you not know the food is just awful and I mean awful. Who on earth gave you more than a star.??? Cold, old greasy fries, a salad with cheap dressing, a salad that didn't come with anything mentioned on n the description, literally poured the salad out of the bad. A 17.00 French dip that literally had barely any meat and nothing else on the plate, where was the horseradish?, the generic ketchup and behind the cooks station was a complete disorganized disaster. We showed up early, just after 9 AM, a couple out-of-towners passing through after spending the night at a local RV park and looking for coffee and grub before hitting the road. We didn't realize this isn't really a breakfast joint, it's more like a lunch spot with some brunch options. The staff was so friendly though, they literally said "we're not quite open but we hate to turn you away," and the cook asked us what we'd like, off the menu, and said he'd make it for us. We ordered some scrambled eggs with biscuits and the seasoning was good. They also brewed some fresh coffee for us, which was pretty basic/standard, but we really appreciated how they accommodated and took care of us. Stopped here during a work trip on 9/15, after a long and tiring day their mushroom swiss burger was not only well affordable but reviving for the soul. Phillip who cooked our food was very nice and made sure everyone was tasting well and had even been thoughtful enough to include a little extra for one of my friends who is vegan and only wanted hash browns. Not too mention Scott was a very attentive and kind soul, made sure drinks were always full and seemed to have great knowledge of the menu and amazing energy. I hope to eat here soon again and enjoy the atmosphere and see what new things they might add! read more

We went to lunch at the Eatery today in our hometown of Fillmore, Utah. I was so impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere! It was wonderful to have a great meal and a great selection of food and not even have to leave town. I would definitely recommend this place. This is the perfect half way stop for my friends and relatives on their way from SLC to St. George or Mesquite, NV. The decor is so over the top! The Pub is darling too! Trying to support a local establishment while in the middle of a 5 hour drive, my family stopped here for lunch on a Sunday at 1. At 2:10 we finally had our food. I don't recommend coming here unless you like paying a premium price for what can best be described as disappointing fast food while waiting an eternity for it. They were not busy. There was a six top that got their food before us and a two top and that was it to say we were disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. We mentioned it to the server and she said that sometimes a restaurants busy but doesn't look busy because of to go orders, which, felt like lame reason. She also said they have a tiny grill. We were so pleased to find this little treasure of an eating place in Fillmore, Utah! The salad plate we ordered was delicious...strawberries, blueberries, lettuce, avocado, red onion, feta cheese, grilled chicken, and a lovely blackberry vinaigrette to top it all off. Way way overpriced for what you get and slow service. After sitting there for 15 minutes and asking for water when I ordered & then asking again, I noticed the drinks were right behind our table. We had a bison burger with their special sauce, and a turkey & bacon sandwich, and both came with ample fries/ spirals (both yummy in different ways) and fry sauce.
