We typically stay somewhere near Spring City, so we get breakfast at Das Cafe. We arrived at 9 AM and while they had several customers, it wasn't as busy as we were afraid of. This was actually my third visit, and it continues to deliver. Unfortunately, they weren't seating outside this time (the outdoor dining area is a gem when they do), but the food was delicious. I ordered a Mormon Mocha, which was really good and my kids loved it too. It actually tasted more like cocoa than a coffee substitute. The Big Max was solid, but I definitely preferred my wife's German Sausage Breakfast, especially with that buttery crispy rye bread. She swapped me her brats for my ham, which worked out great. If you prefer ham over German sausage, it's worth asking if they'll accommodate that for the sandwich. One heads-up for parents: we asked if the animal pancakes were comparable in taste and portion to a short stack, since the cost would have been about the same for two kids. We were told they were, but my mom ordered the short stack and you definitely get more pancake, and we all agreed the texture was noticeably better. Stick with the short stack. And if you haven't tried the signature carrot cake, it's decadent enough for the whole table to enjoy a few bites. Prost!

The only negative, well, maybe two, was that they were out of the cucumber salad and the dill gravy has a horseradish kick that was not mentioned in the menu. Other than that, everything was amazing. DO NOT FORGET TO ORDER THE CARROT CAKE, thank me later.

That's exactly what happened here when my partner and I walked in to get lunch. I chuckled a little and remembered what it used to be like when I lived in a small town. The two young ladies that were running the place were friendly; especially with the regulars-one was standing next to a table chatting for several minutes while we were waiting for our ticket. There was a large group on the outside patio and we noticed that they were getting their order two plates at a time-every five or so minutes. I assume the restaurant doesn't have a large enough grill for more than a couple burgers at once? Unfortunately, our order was placed after theirs so we had to wait even longer. The food was really good once we received it. We both devoured our burgers and fries. Knowing that the wait time might be a bit, I'll keep that in mind if I'm driving through town in the future.

Red clover cafe was like a lighthouse in the dark as the road leading up to here was quite dark but the lights outside were like beacons of light drawing a moth. The burgers here were great and it was about a 45 min drive past Torrey to get here. The server was really nice and this seems like a small family run business. Definitely would recommend on the drive from Capitol reef down to Bryce Canyon city. We tried 2 different burgers: 1) 5/5 - Twisted mushroom burger (wagyu patty, bacon, American cheese, mushrooms, and we subbed the bleu cheese aioli for the bbq aioli). 2) 5/5 - Utah Slammer ( Wagyu patty, pastrami, and grilled onions) Both burgers were very juicy and tasted great. My wife preferred the twisted mushroom and I preferred the Utah slammer (it's a mountain of meat). Onion rings were okay and the sweet potato fries were nicely crisped. Definitely worth stopping by!
