My dad and I ate breakfast here this morning. I've gone a handful of times before but I don't usually go out for breakfast. The brisket omelette was so delicious because it was well-seasoned and generous with the fillings, I actually appreciated how they somewhat over-toasted the hash browns making them really crunchy, because normally I think hash browns are soggy and gross. The toast itself though was a bit over toasted but that's a nitpick. Overall, this place was a great choice, and I'll absolutely go back. read more

A TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT! We ordered to-go two omelets (one veg/one cheese), French toast, and an order of pancakes last month on a slow, quiet Tuesday AM. The omelets were bland and crunchy from bits of eggshell. The hashbrowns were crispy but drenched in oil. They consider 1/2 of a 3x3 biscuit a serving--which were okay, but nothing special. The French toast was the only edible thing. Then we come to the pancakes. Generously sized but overcooked on one side and completely BURNT on the other. No amount of butter or sugar could rescue them. How could they sell this quality of food is beyond us. The only thing that could have made this experience worse was if we chose to eat inside the restaurant. It was so brightly lit with fluorescent lights it was on par with one of those interrogation rooms you see in old movies. read more

The cafe was busy on a Saturday morning. They were fast and efficient and very nice. Ordered number 1 French toast, sausage and eggs. Love the sausage, great flavor, large servings. I recommend this cafe for breakfast. FYI- I'm not a local and was treated like everyone else. read more

Classic breakfast spot. They were busy on a Sunday but worth the wait. The staff is hard working

We came here because we got up early and had to make a flight and wanted a nice big breakfast to start the day. They open extra early, 5 or 6 am I think! Let me just start by saying they served me the best waffle I've had in a while. It was just perfect, I only let my husband have one or two bites. My bacon was not under- or overdone, it was just right. I had a little of my hubby's dish, I believe it was called Old Joe's. Biscuits and Gravy mixed with eggs and sausage. Just wonderful. Even the coffee was better than standard diner offerings. We were also greeted immediately and got to pick our table. We took booth. Can't say enough good things! read more

Cute place. Off 101 in the safeway mall. Small and cozy inside. Service was excellent!! I had the #2...huge (as big as my head) and fluffy pancake with sausage and one egg. I Came to Dunes Cafe while on an Oregon Coast Road Trip, getting started in Florence and then heading North. I chose the dunes Cafe because of the wonderful reviews on both zomato and Yelp, so it only made sense to eat here and live among the locals. When we pulled into the parking lot we saw that there were many people with trailers containing dune buggies, dirt bikes, and Motor Vehicles to go ride the dunes. We knew that we found a good breakfast place because it was busy. But looks can be deceiving. When we walked into Dunes Cafe it was hectic. There were three servers, all the tables were filled, in the servers were running around like this was the hardest job that they have ever worked in service. There had to have only been 10 tables at the most in there among the three servers. The restaurant itself is also a mess, and looks like it needs a good wife down and hasn't been dusted in 20 years. The service was extra slow, and I think I could have went back there cooked it myself and served it much quicker than they can handle doing it. If you have read my reviews before, you know that I am on the hunt to find the best biscuits and gravy here in Oregon, anything that can be resembling to the biscuits and gravy of the South where I come from. This one was Bland and tasteless. The hash browns that we ordered with it we're no better, had to use ketchup to make it taste like something. A half order of biscuits and gravy (that could feed two) cost me only $3.95 and a cup of coffee was an additional buck. Dunes Cafe has that everybody knows your name charm, decent prices, and you can stop by on your way over from Eugene( it's just off 126 as you enter town). Decided to give this place a try while staying the weekend in Florence. The food was just ok and it was pretty overpriced for what it was. The staff was very friendly, but we found it off putting that none of them were wearing a mask. 3 1/2 stars. The food was good, and reasonably priced. But it was clear that if your not a local they couldn't care less if you're there or not. Sat at the diner counter and still had to wait for the servers to stop looking at their phones anytime I needed anything. The country scramble was dope and well priced. The pancake was ok but a little over priced as ala cart. But most of the combo sets were priced well. Went in for lunch and it's nice to know I will never go back. May have been my bad, but when you're in a coastal town and they offer beer battered fish and chips I tend to think it's worth putting on your menu. Fish was frozen, panko crusted, and the densest inedible fish sticks I've ever eaten (I only ate one). The fries were ok, ate all of those. Also the side salad was mostly browned iceburg lettuce. The hash browns are nice and crunchy my wife loves the hash browns. The biscuits and gravy are so tasty. You cannot go wrong eating here. The price for the food is so low for what you get. Awesome food, horrible service! 4 dirty tables that no one cleaned when there was time. When people started coming in they had no choice but to sit at dirty tables! Unacceptable. No team work between waiters, had to go get my own coffee refill when waiter passed up my table because I wasn't "his" table. Went up to register to pay, waiter cashed out another customer then walked away without taking my money. I nearly walked out without paying, but that's not my style.
