I have been a patron for 20 yrs. This is the first time I have hated the food. I always get the corned beef Reuben, however today I think the cook was on vacation. It was not cooked long enough as it was tough, the muscle fibers were still in tact so with each bite it was like chewing a piece of leather. I ate very little of it. Worst experience ever. The "owners kid" had an issue with someone in my party. He was disgusting with his behavior. I was trying to diffuse the situation and he was intoxicated and not hearing anything. He was cursing at me and being extremely aggressive. I will never go there again. Not good business read more

She is very attentive, thorough, personable and works hard to satisfy the needs of all the customers. Went for a mid day Guiness and bar was mostly full at the time despite no sports on. The TV setup is not good if your at the bar. Well I took a chance on the food since bar guy said everything made in house. The rueben was very, very good with the crumbly corn beef, sourkraut and cheese. The fries were oily and understood, which is strange because the guy next to me had a side of crisp, hot fries. But beer and main course excellent. Mostly regulars as expected here. read more

I'd been craving good fish and chips and the Dubliner did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly cooked, not at all greasy and plentiful. Fries and coleslaw were also good. Service was friendly, quick and very helpful. The atmosphere is definitely Irish pub feel. I will return next time I'm in Phoenix. read more

the bartender with red hair is beyond rude and not personable at all. His mother owns the bar so he thinks he can just be rude to customers. He wears a hat and rolls his eyes under the brim and will never make eye contact with you. If you ask for a drink when the place is dead on a Saturday, he acts like you are asking him to come and mop your floors at his house. This place used to be great 4 years ago but ever since the new owner took over it has gone downhill. The food quality has gone down and the cooks are always in a bad mood. Came in on the nite they had acoustic Grateful Dead music and place was rather crowded but was able to grab a spot right by the band, music was great food was surprisingly very good and the drinks where cold and just right, table service was a little slow but really not a problem. I honestly feel like the Dubliner might be the most inviting bar in the valley. The staff, the food and live events are what make the bar great. The owner is one of the nicest people I've ever met and has helped me out in my life immensely. They are also a very diverse restaurant which is why someone might have been confused earlier but they are not JUST an Irish pub they are a pub that welcomes everyone and like to showcase music acts, have diffent types of food on the menu, and just a neighborhood bar that welcomes any patrons to have an absolute blast. My wife and I have visited this location 4 times. The first trip I ordered the corn beef and cabbage. The corn beef was so under cooked I had to send it back and ordered a medium burger which was cooked well done instead. Not happy with the result but consumed the burger anyway. We decided to give Dubliner another try and our second and third trips were okay. Our fourth trip, however, was really bad service from Mellisa, the bartender. We walked in and sat at the booth right at the entrance. Before being seated, Melissa yelled out from inside the bar asking us what we wanted to drink because there was no server for the restaurant area. She then placed two menus on the bar and directed us to come pick them up. A customer sitting at the bar actually brought the menus to us. When Melissa finally came to our table to take our drink order, she directed us to sit at the bar because there was no server. When we entered, there was no sign indicating areas were closed. I informed her that I am handicapped and there are no backs on the chairs at the bar presenting a problem for me. She rolled her eyes and walked away. My wife and I had one round of drinks paid and left. We went elsewhere for lunch. WE WILL NEVER RETURN! The reality we were considering coming here for New Years Eve celebration advertised on the door, but based on how we were treated that is NOT happening. read more

This is a casual dining place. When I first went in, I was not impressed. The place is dark and noisy. However, after I tried the food, I completely changed my mind about this place. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had spinach and artichoke dip, fish and chips, and chicken wings. I love the chicken wings. They are juicy, tender, and crispy altogether. Going against my 100 reviews or less policy, Dubliner currently has 128. But I wanted to compare one of my favorite bars in the Phoenix area to one that is close to where I live now. This is part of my legacy series of past memories. I first came to the Dubliner on Sunday, October 1, 2006. At the time I was doing pizza delivery, and it was a little slow that night, and I was reading the Phoenix New Times magazine. It mentioned that they have an open mic at the Dubliner. I told my friend about it, and she was not in the mood to go (she was having feminine issues that night she told me weeks later), but I convinced her to go. She probably said I'll go to check out, but I don't want to stay too long, which I agreed. I picked her up. She lived 4 miles from Dubliner, and we drove to what was at the time an unfamiliar bar. The bar was established in 1985, but I was far too young to drink back in their early days; I could barely walk or talk! When we arrived, we realized this was a large place with a huge bar area (which makes a U-shape around the middle of the place), booths, tables, dart boards, and pool tables. We sat in a booth near the Open Mic area, and we were impressed with the various musicians. We each had a beer. I think I might've had a Smithwicks as that was & still is a common beer choice, and unfortunately, I don't like Guinness. The server was friendly. The person hosting Open Mic was super talented, and we even talked to her that night, and she was warm & engaging; too bad she was engaged! Guess what happened the following Sunday? My friend wanted to go back to Dubliner, and we enjoyed the Open Mic all over again on October 8th. We went many of the Sundays in October & November 2006, and we continued to go less frequently after that. They still do the Open Mic on Sundays today (I checked their website). Additionally, we went on a couple of Tuesday nights, where the singer [The one who hosts the open mic] & band perform (She is still performing there 12 years later!). During on Sunday & occasional Tuesdays, we met a lot of great people. The servers & bartenders were all nice & got the drinks out quickly. One of the random people we met there always got a Blue Moon beer. A nice guy, but we jokingly made fun of him behind his back about always getting Blue Moon. Guess what? Today, that is one of my favorite beers. If it hadn't been for the Dubliner, I might not have realized the joys of a cold Blue Moon. We went on St. Patrick's Day 2007, which was a Saturday. It was during a massive heat wave. The high that day & before was a blazing hot 99 F, a record high temperature that will be very difficult to beat. St. Patrick's Day, of course, was a completely different experience. It was crowded, but still a good time with several friends. I remember one of the beers I had was green, but that's about all I remember from that infamous night...haha. I moved away to the DC area in 2011, but we went a couple of times since then when I visited at Christmastime. Nothing has really changed there (which is good). I hope that Dubliner stays in business for a very long time because it's my favorite in the Phoenix area. read more

No stars if I could! This place has seriously gone downhill..we were there a year or so ago and not bad it's a pub, right? Visited it last night for drinks and dinner...not good!! It all seemed unclean..table was dirty, we cleaned while waiting for our waitress. She took our order, we both ordered fish and chips...ugh! The majority of the fish pieces were over fried..so dark tasted burnt because they were!!! A handful of leftover fries and a scoop of something they tried passing along as coleslaw. No pride in food or presentation...we shared with our waitress..she said "sorry, I could get you new fish you can take home?" No thanks!!!! I can go to grocery store and buy my own fish sticks at a fraction of your price. No recommendations or revisit here. The only entertainment worth watching was the old men flirting with the younger skimpy clothed waitresses and patrons that was fun! Ugh read more

Was really excited to try this place, we drove 35 miles just to check it out. Walked in and waited for over 20 minutes and were never even greeted or offered a menu. The waitress saw us there and went to a table of two guys who walked in and sat down almost immediately and completely ignored us. Needless to say we were very disappointed. I was a regular before the pandemic. I tried to go there recently and things have definitely changed. There's definitely a different energy here. I walked in on a couple guys doing drugs in the bathroom and the rest of the patrons have been sloppy drunk, aggressively and rude. The bouncer did nothing to stop them harassing me. I heard good things about this place and I thought I check it out in our trip to the states. To my dismay I learned quickly this place is not LGBT friendly. All the male staff were very friendly and very open to sharing their "party favors" until my Black king showed up to accompany me and the vibe changed. We weren't interested because we had plans to head east and see the rest of the country but it sounded like a good time. As we were leaving this young woman came out yelling and screaming at us, I assume she was the manager or owner or something because all the men backed off and became very timid. In no uncertain terms she told we were not welcome there and we should never come back. Terms accepted. I don't want to be anywhere I don't feel safe and accepted. Would not recommend. read more

I've been to the Dubliner many, many times over the years. They make the best homemade potato chips, ever! Yesterday I had the GUINNESS Chicken for the first time. It was truly fantastic! I didn't expect the chicken cutlet to be breaded and fried, but it was not greasy and was completely fork tender. My adult kids had the fish and chips, they LOVED it! My friend had the corned beef sliders, she said it was the best corned beef she ever had. They were generous in size as well. My son in laws Rueben sandwich was awesome as well. Black & Tans reasonably priced, and cold! I really appreciated the sign on the door to be patient as they were understaffed, like most resturants/bars are right now. So no big deal if it was slightly longer for service. We really didn't notice. Our server was wonderful and friendly! Being a good guest is also a part of your own experience, cut people a break.
