My lady and I were in the middle of the football season, looking for a place to eat and just hang out while the Patriots and the Eagles were playing. Somehow, we ended up in Secaucus and spotted Blackjack Mulligans. We decided to take a chance with it and it did not disappoint! 4 words - Shepherds Mac n Cheese!! It was Shepherds Pie, but with Mac N Cheese instead of potato! It really took me back to my childhood with the hamburger helper and Velveeta. So good! We basically shared it as well as the 16 oz Ribeye Steak. The Steak was very good, but the Shepherds Mac n Cheese really stole the show. They also had a long list of cocktails and brews to choose from. I don't remember what I had, but I know how I felt when paired with the food and I know for sure it was delicious. This place is the bomb. Super friendly staff. The food was delicious. Being an Irish pub I, of course, had to try the corned beef and cabbage. Best I ever had and a huge platter full. Drink specials Monday - Friday from 11am - 6pm. I ended up coming here everyday for a week because of how good their specials were. $3 yuenglings and heinekens. Each time, we came in a group of four or more and we were surprised at how low the bill was each time, even though we were ordering 3+ rounds each time. Food wise, I had the steak sandwich, disco fries, mozzarella sticks, and buffalo wings throughout the week. The steak sandwich was cooked perfectly medium rare and seasoned so well. The portion size was huge for the price we paid for it. The fried foods came out hot and not greasy at all. I'm still surprised how great everything about this place was. A good locals bar with a ton of TVs to watch any game and they have weekly events. If you are into craft beer, do not go here as they do not have any available. We came for trivia night which also happens to be prime rib night for $14.99. Our table ordered 2 prime rib specials and 2 grilled swordfish dishes off the specials menu. Prime rib was good for the price. Obviously, not gonna be the best prime rib. My grilled swordfish was a tad overcooked but still good. The sauce was a bit sweet so next time I will ask for it on the side. We had a problem with the other swordfish we had ordered and a manager was called over and the problem was dealt with immediately. Awesome service provided by our server and the manager. Returned recently with a group of friends. The service is here is hit or miss. I was here on a Saturday night and there was a lot of patrons for the live band, but honestly service was above and beyond terrible - something you would expect from some place like a NYC club where the bartenders can hear you and they don't give a shit about you. So we had rounds for alcohol, shots and beer. The entire night was miserable because the bartenders and the waitresses were annoyed that we were there?!?! Like I'm sorry we stopped in for some food and alcohol for a good night. We expected a decent local bar scene and wanted to support the small businesses but honestly they need to train their staff about hospitality and helping them understand how to treat the customers. Literally, bartender Jeff and Chris were rude and this is unacceptable. I dont plan on returning with my friends and will make sure to spread the word to our family. Also we slightly under tipped the 15% and Chris chased after our car to curse us off. We explained that it was due to the service we received and continued to disrespect us. Thank you, but no thanks! I have been wanting to check this place out for quite some time and lucky for me, my dart team played against this bars team on their home turf. In the area, there is a pretty decent amount of parking options. The bar in general is very nice and clean. There is also a separate section for those who choose to dine in and eat. I personally didn't order any of the food, however, for the Tuesday night dart league, the bars are required to put food out for the players. Since they make their food in house l, they put out some chicken, shrimp, sweet peppers, broccoli, onions l, carrots and rice served in this Asian style sauce. I thought the food was pretty decent! There were two bartenders there last night, one male and one female and both were extremely nice and quick to serve! The bar also has a pretty good selection in regards to craft beer. The bathroom was also really clean. I also noticed a couple of signs that were up throughout the place and the bar apparently has specials going on all week long on a regular basis. I came here with my friend on a Friday night. The staff was super friendly and the environment was very chill. It's a local bar, has parking for the customers. I checked in on Yelp and received a free beer koozie. We started with the mozzarella sticks which were really tasty. The waitress was super friendly and my friend was able to build her burger and add an egg. They don't have avocado (sad face). The burgers were cooked to order. Received the order first thing I see is two types of cheese melting on a burger and pickles laying on my fries. I've been a patron of Dublin for years - when it was Black Jack's. It's always been great and the staff makes it that much better. I want to address the most recent slandering reviews made by Linda. Her review was complete and utter BS. I was there and witnessed every everything. She came in and immediately screamed angrily at the bartenders to assist her at the atm machine. Cheyenne then politely told her unfortunately she couldn't assist her as she has never used an atm machine. Linda then proceeded to go back in the hallway where the ATM was located and started screaming so violently it sounded like she was being murdered. Then she starting hitting the machine and trying to take it off the wall. Which prompted the staff to check on her. She said that her card was stuck, but that atm doesn't suck your card in. Realizing she was clearly mentally unwell, they asked her to leave before she damaged the atm any further. She refused to leave even after other patrons told her to leave as well. George, the manager, was then called to be advised on the situation and they decided to ban her. Apparently this isn't the first time she's caused a scene - she threw a chair at one of the bartenders in the past! Surprised it took this long to ban her honestly. I hate the fact that she is slandering the business like this on multiple platforms. Dublin is a great local spot with an amazing food and drinks! We were looking for the perfect spot to celebrate a Surprise 50th Birthday party! We had been to BJ Mulligans many times, but never for a party. We called a few weeks in advance to inquire availability and get pricing/menu. They were very reasonably priced and able to accommodate our 30+ guest party. Trish was very helpful with this process. When we arrived, Julian helped get the room setup and answered all our questions. He's definitely an asset to the BJ Mulligan Team. We stopped by Blackjack's last night after spending the day in the city. We weren't sure what to expect since the vibe was part bar and part restaurant. The food was incredible. I got the Shepard's Pie MAC and Cheese and my husband got the roast beef sliders. The Mac and Cheese was the meat base for Shepard's Pie but with gooey, cheesy goodness instead of mashed potatoes. I can't wait to get home to try and recreate it. It came out hot and bubble and I only managed to eat half! My husband said that the roast beef sliders were great too. He got a side of fries which was too much for him but rest assured he made it work! If you are ever close to Secaucus, make sure to check out Blackjacks. Wow! What a sad decline. Blackjack Mulligans used to be my "go to" UberEats but that has stopped as of my horrible experience yesterday. I put in my ubereats order and was greeted by a lovely Uber driver a short while later. Before she left I noticed the 3 Coca Colas I ordered were missing. She immediately returned to the "restaurant" after reviewing my order. I then received a phone call from a Blackjack Mulligans employee telling me that they were out of Coca Cola cans and that I should have received an "Uber notification" refunding me the drinks. This was a LIE and FALSE information. I had told the male on the phone that I wished I had known this so I could have selected a different drink. I told him I didn't receive any notifications or refunds and he just repeated himself completely ignoring what I said and made no effort to resolve the issue before he gave the phone to the Uber driver. What "bar" runs out of soda?!?! I was appalled at how this was handled with such inconsideration, disrespect, unprofessionalism, and laziness. Plus I was told a LIE regarding a refund. (Later I submitted a complaint to Uber of my missing items and received a refund through them). Not only has the customer service quality suffered but so has the food. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with fries and three pickle slices, pretzels with beer cheese, and a coleslaw. Upon opening the coleslaw it smelled rancid. I taste tested a small amount and sure enough it was spoiled. Straight in the garbage it went. Next up was the Philly cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was dryer than the Sahara desert. It was so dry and lack of moisture that I took it apart and reconstructed it myself to at least make it decent. The fries were a soggy flavorless mess that also went right into the trash. The only tasteful item was the pretzel with beer cheese; that's pretty sad! What's going on here?! Blackjack Mulligans has definitely been removed from my go to delivery options.
