Flies, Bad wine and bad food. This is where the local old, overweight white guys go to get drunk and waddle home. Service was great she hustled and we tipped her for it. This place is a dump. Plank Road Inn is a very special sports bar to me, as I have been going there for over 20 years. Bruce and Brian run a good business that offers pretty decent food selections combined with so many accessible TVs. People come here as a dive bar, but often times can be a family restaurant in the early evening, The regulars here are often nice and their bar food (Frankenstein wings, burgers, fries) are always good. They have daily specials which are often times unique depending on who is the chef at the time. I will always give a shout-out to Oscar however because he is one of the best Italian chefs I've met. It can have its problems if it is overpacked and there is often people who are uninviting that come here at later points in the night, but they should not be considered the standard crowd. Overall, its a nice place for a quick, but cozy dinner and some good sports fun. read more

Dive Bar Went in late Saturday night. The bar was somewhat packed. The dining room in the back was decorated and festive. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. Came to the Plank Road Inn for a burger and beer. Hadn't been here in probably 40 years since I was in high school and the drinking age was 18! Pretty sure I never had one crumb of food then and only drank pitchers of Bud. Well, it still looks pretty much the same as I remember. And, as it turns out, it is now owned by a couple I went to high school with. Anyway, my sister and I both had burgers (mushroom burger for me, sis had a pizza burger) that were decent. The waffle fries were awesome as were the Sweet Potato fries. Good pickles, too. Add in a few local drafts and it made for a pleasant dining experience. Definitely a local hang-out. All the other customers seemed to know each other. The waitress was super friendly and made a fresh pot of coffee for my sister. If I'm in town on a Tuesday, I'll stop in for wings. read more

Good for beer & highballs We went to this tavern six years ago by mistake, and it was a total dive-y bar, which we love. At that time, it was some old grizzly guy serving beers and you could have a bag of chips if you were starving. Fast forward to current times, and it's the exact same look/feel, but now there look to be new owners, and they advertise some food. Since we were hungry, we were excited to try some of the wings that were on special. Massive disappointment - thin paper plates to eat off of (not a big deal) but the wings were so greasy, and tasted of dirty fry oil. There was no way they had been cooked fresh, they'd obviously been refried a few times. The wings were not crisp at all and were barely hot. We sent them back and honestly didn't even want to try again, but the bartender very kindly brought us another order. While the wings were hotter and crisper and tasted a bit better, they were still not even mediocre. I guess the place is intended more for beers and sports watching, and I'm the weirdo who expected some decent food. The staff seem nice enough and there were people there enjoying themselves, so it may have just been a fluke with me. I might go back for a drink, but I wouldn't bother with food again. read more

We sit at the bar and mull over what we want to eat. A female patron taps my shoulder to inform me it's wing night. 30 cent wings on Tuesday. I ask my date what type of wings should we get. A man at the end of bar gets my attention and recommends the Frankenstein sauce wings-- a little bit of every sauce listed. I thank him for the recommendation and get a plate of Frankenstein, buffalo and bbq. Frankenstein sauce stole the show. We got 3 more plates of that. By the end of the night, everyone was our friend. Patrons and staff were very nice and friendly. Please note that there is a dart board but no darts. And the dart board is behind a table so no one better be eating there. Everyone needs a local "goto bar" in their life so i you don't have one, I'd recommend, The Plank Inn. It's been around forever and the decor is pretty basic bordering on a bit dingy. Nevertheless, they have a large selection of beer which is served really cold. The food is very good, so are the prices, and the staff is friendly to customers. I always get Chilie Cheese Dogs with a beer. They have a big selection of burgers, wraps, salads, wings (the best), etc. They also have a small restaurant area in the back for a full meal, yes, dinner or lunch. The chef is very talented. The bartender had an attitude the moment we stepped in and asked my friends and I for I.D. We obliged but he seemed to have an attitude about it all. Still, we ordered drinks. However, ours were either watered down or just not what we asked for at all. He even slammed my glass down and didn't care for the mess he caused. My fiancé and I have come here quite a few times and really like it. It's a local bar with pretty good food and prices to match. There are plenty of TVs so it's perfect place to come and watch almost any sports game you could think of. The selection of beer on tap is decent and they generally have a cider on tap too. Last night I ordered the balsamic chicken sandwich and my fiancé got the Philly cheesesteak. His sandwich looked and smelled amazing and he really enjoyed. My sandwich was absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a healthier sandwich option this is the way to go. The flavor of the chicken and the peppers was so perfect together I was in heaven. Everyone is extremely friendly here and the service is pretty good. Recently Linda Thai, a local Thai restaurant, started to share the kitchen so you can get Thai food sometimes as well. If you attend on on Wens-Sat you can get a meal that you wouldn't expect to be able to order for a place like this. Great Italian dished are served and on the other days their "bar" food is pretty comfortable. I've been to this place a few times in the past few weeks. The first time I was there I was pleasantly surprised... I honestly expected the worst because from the outside it looks a bit sketchy. However, the atmosphere is pretty good.. your typical dive bar, but low key and friendly. Actually really friendly... the bartenders/ wait staff are awesome!! Great place to watch games... and the wings/ food are DELICIOUS!! Probably the best wings I've had in the state.... FYI get the Frankestein wings or just the regular wings. I would give this place a 4 or 5 stars, however the few times I've gone the beer has not tasted great. They have plenty of choices, but each beer tastes off. Either the kegs are flat or the don't clean the lines properly. It's really unfortunately because I REALLY wanted to love this place after the first time I went. I would still go back because the food is definitely good and the staff are really nice... perhaps I'll stick to bottled beers when I'm there. read more
