Great bbq place in Mission, TX. The staff were friendly and helpful, I had the Texas Mess with brisket. It's a bowl of rice, beans, cheese and your choice of protein. Comes with choice of bread or corn tortilla. You can add condiments which include salsa, guacamole, and onions. The dish had a little spicy kick to it but not overpowering. I had unsweetened ice tea to wash it down. Almost all the other lunchtime patrons were locals on their lunch break. My husband ordered the Chicken Borracho, he said he loved the chicken for it being our first time here. His critique is that it could use a bit more seasoning. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the pork was very soft, what I appreciate is that it isn't drowned in BBQ sauce. So you get to sauce it to your liking. Ok Y'all second visit in a week since finally finding this spot! Second time was just as welcoming and Delicious as the first . Today we had the chicken tacos cooked to perfection filled UP with flavorful chicken ! The side of guacamole with onions tomatoes and Cilantro was great besides their condiment bar can't go wrong . Subbed out the sides for their homemade fries !! Husband had the smash burger with brisket add on . He devoured it . Prices are more than fare !!! Decent BBQ, but nothing overly special in my opinion. More bread with the meat plates would be nice. Canned green beans with canned corn. Mac and cheese was watery and needed seasoning. The chicken was the best part because it was smoked right, but again, needed more seasoning. Brisket was good and there was a decent amount on the plate, but this too could have been seasoned better. It's like they forgot the salt that day. Asked for loaded twinkies and we were never even told they were out until we were paying and asked about them. First time, went to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church to pray and as I walked out I smelt the grill going out back. This place is a must stop, wife had a brisket sandwich and I had the pulled pork.
