We walked in about 5 minutes after they opened and it seemed like they were quite ready, so our food took a little bit of time but we weren't in a rush. We both went with the #2 combo which was 2 sliders and fries. It didn't include a drink which seemed odd but an easy way for them to get more money. The sliders weren't that small for having 2 in the order but we still finished it all. I wasn't super excited about a Kale Slaw being on the slider but it was actually pretty good and didn't have too much of a "kale taste". I don't do great with spicy but the medium spice level wasn't too much at all. It added flavor without being overpowering, which is exactly what I wanted. When we came in the place was packed and when I say packed, I mean no chairs or tables available lol. Something I like to see in restaurants because it means that they're doing a great job. When a table did become available. Marcus separated the table for us and got the chairs set up for us, so I really appreciated that service. The customers are Vibing with each other having a great time with each other. The food was excellent. I love this place. The drive thru was a bit crowded. I decided to dine in and check out the decor. The place has giant murals on all sides. A/C vents, tube, chairs and benches are in bright red. I don't have issue with the distracting decor at all. The music is slightly louder than average. Due to the hollow interior in a square shape, there are a lot eches with background noise from the ice maker. Spicy level is really a subject thing. My first try was medium to set a baseline. I ordered a 2 tender meal. The meal doesn't come with a drink, so had to sell out another $2 and change to get tea or soft drinks in small size. The chicken strip was served in a timely manner as a fast food restaurant. The chicken strips and fries were hot as they should. The meal came with 2 slices of white bread and slices of pickles. I think the white bread is a bit non-sense as they could make the bread into garlic bread or added flavoring. For a single meal with drink, I spent $15+ dollars after tax, it is steep for fast food. There are restaurants serving non-fast food for this price. The value wasn't there. I would say if the drink was included, then the price is justified. 1st time experience at Dave's. My daughter and I shared Dave's #2, of 2 sliders with fries for $18.68. You get to pick your level of "Hot" which gets as hot as ghost reaper. At that level they have you sign a waiver. They offer regular soft drink options, like other fast food chains. Nothing special about the fries. Their chicken is okay. To my tongue palette chicken was over seasoned, my daughter said the same. If you are trying to watch your weight this is not your chicken. I love the environment and if you want to work here you would have fun. Employee's appear to help each other and have fun while they are hustling. SO GOOD! Cannot recommend this place enough. The Mac and Cheese was so good, would go back for just this alone. The pickles were crunchy and so good. Fast service even though they were busy and the "Lite Spice" wasn't spicy at all (I like a lot of hot & spicy food), I'll definitely try the mild next time. We both had the #1, 2 tenders, fries, pickles, and sliced bread. One lite mild and one medium. We ordered the kale slaw to share. Meals do not include a drink. The prices are not inexpensive. After adding drinks it was just under $35 for two of us. There was no ice or lids for the drinks. The chicken while tasty was not overly spicy. My lite mild had basically no spice. The medium had a little spice. The fries were really good as well as the pickles. The slaw was not good. Basically tasteless. Wouldn't bother with it again. They did not automatically give us utensil packets. We had to ask for them. While I appreciate customer service, four different people coming by to ask if everything was okay was overkill. The chicken itself was ok not juicy but not dry now the outer layer was a coating of dry ,salty flavorless dust that clinger to the chicken making it undesirable.
