Came in for lunch and ordered a Savannah chopped salad, McAllisters club, a spud max, and a French dip. Our food was delicious and refreshing from a week filled with fried food. Glad we stopped in! Employees were chatting and weren't engaging us for an order which made things a little awkward, they were out of cookies, and the restaurant smelled like poop. But the food was good! read more

McAlister's has yet to disappoint when it comes to sandwiches. I took my wife there and the place was fairly empty so service was quick and the area was very clean. After much pondering...I finally decided the spicy Southwest Chicken looked good and my wife ordered herself the McAlister's club. Each sandwich basically checked off all the marks...they tasted fresh. The ingredients felt crisp...they appeared deceivingly small but they were definitely filling. The sides were fairly standard....potato salad and a bag of chips. They were the perfect complements to the sandwiches... Everything was tasty....good service...nearly 5 stars...was there anything lacking? I would say no...but still definitely recommend for a quick delicious bite but maybe if they had original sauces like other local establishments do....then a definite 5 read more

I picked up my order and they gave me an overcooked potato and was brown looking ugly taste. sandwich was okay.

I'll say this: usually my experience is 5 star, but unfortunately - this wasn't one of those times. While the chili was AWESOME, the service and ordering experience left much to be desired. From time of order to seating: 5 minutes. Time from order to serving: 7 minutes. Order: Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken. Bowl of Chili. Croutons on the side. Diet Dr. Pepper. Ordering process: I made sure my order was accurately relayed to the cashier, multiple times. When my receipt was printed, I said, "I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken ... this says 'grilled chicken salad.'" I was assured that it prints that way, but that I would receive a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. While, at this point, I should've known better - I accepted her response. Reason for deduction: Wrong order. Customer service. Weird odor. The server came with the correct order of chili, and the wrong salad order. I informed them that it wasn't correct and I was asked for my receipt. After showing her my receipt, I was told that I ordered the "chicken salad." After needing you explain (again), she left with the wrong order (mumbling something like, "okay I'll be right back"), and the manager returned around 3-5 minutes later with my correct salad. He was polite but did not apologize for the confusion (which I can forgive, considering he may not have known the whole story). There was a weird odor that my friends and I could not identify, but I guess it was likely that it was food that I wasn't accustomed to smelling in the restaurant. Food quality: The salad was fresh, but had several brown pieces (one of which can be seen in the provided picture). Otherwise, the food was good, the dressing was rich, and the croutons came separate as requested. I've been here several times, so maybe today was just somewhat off, I'll be back but I'm hoping I won't have difficulty in getting what I order next time. Climate = good, cool and comfortable, A Social Distancing = A+ Masks = A+ Gloves = A+ Sanitizer provided = A+ Customer Service = B- Cleanliness = B+ (weird odor otherwise clean) Food = A Overall experience = B+ read more

I had a French dip with added horseradish, and subbed a tortilla soup. Sandwich tasted good but no horse rad, had to ask again for horse rad. Waited finally had to go again to the counter to ask again. ajus was cold, as was soup. I was most disappointed with the little things about this meal, y'all were not real busy, but clearly to busy to have hot soup or aujus. I travel every week for work, wanted to give y'all a try, not likely to try again. First impressions matter. I didn't even finish my soup. read more

McAlister's Deli - Not a difficult order - Sandwiches Near Me - McAllen, Texas

Solid 3 stars for a hassle free lunch during the work week! Clean, attentive service, and fresh menu. This sandwich shop is in a busy plaza that you could find everything for your shopping needs. PROS : simple, clean, tasty, fast, and there is something for everyone here. It's s good fill up if you're working and just want to get something tasty without much fuss. The service is fast and friendly. The sides are pretty tasty but nothing that is mind blowing. The sandwiches are a pretty nice size but still your Panera portions so sometimes the pick 2 just won't cut it for me. The cookies are tasty and not thick. The avocado tastes fresh and freshly cut. CONS : nothing is spectacular. I won't be leaving the state wishing I could have McAllister's everywhere I go. The soups aren't bad but again probably your typical frozen batch that are warmed up. Portions are OK however if you're trying to fill up this probably won't be the most bang for your buck. read more

I highly do not recommend coming to Mcallisters. The AC is NEVER working in this location and I can never enjoy a meal here due to the fact that's it's so hot. I can't imagine the work conditions that these employees go through. Also, i don't appreciate the general manager. I can see how unprofessional and rude he can be with his employees. He mid interrupts them whenever they're taking my order. I prefer the Mcallisters in Edinburg! read more

Not a bad little spot to stop in for a quick soup/sandwich. I used to come here often before I moved out of the RGV; the potato soup is bomb and the side salad with a little balsamic hits the spot! More recently stopped in because my boyfriend was hungry and wanted something good but pretty quick because we were in a hurry. They're open late and have great prices! read more

It was a disappointment. I don't wish to return. My Boyfriend and I's soups had no flavor. Apparently the faucet water was "no good" and we had to order and purchase another drink. If I could put 0 stars I would. Me and my boyfriend went on Sunday and it was not busy. There were 3 girls behind the register/counter and none ever turned around to acknowledge us. The manager had to literally tell them "don't forget the customers behind you" we finally ordered after 10 mins of just standing there. The food also took forever to get to our table. I got the sweet chicken chipotle sandwich and it was so terrible I took one bite and got grossed out it was barbecue sauce and zero chipotle. They also got our soup order wrong when we both asked for potato soup! It was the main reason we even went. The soup was terrible also. Very watery and no flavor. And the girl who brought back the right soup held our soup cups right at the brim with her dirty hands. So gross. Everything about that visit sucked and we will never go back. read more

This fast casual restaurant offers far more than most delis, with a large selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads to choose from. I would compare it to a Panera Bread on steroids. I ate here with two college friends, one of whom had already been to this establishment on several occasions as a local. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Griller sandwich along with a broccoli and cheddar soup and was very satisfied with my meal. The portion size was fairly generous for this type of establishment, certainly more generous than that of Panera Bread or the clones I have visited throughout the Northeast. On Sundays, they have a great deal where their "Pick 2" deal (such as a soup and 1/2 sandwich) is just $5.99 all day. Hopefully, we will not need to wait long before McAlister's hits the New York City metropolitan area. It looks like they are approaching the Washington, D.C. area with their location in Herndon, VA. Panera Bread really needs some competition as they are one of the only, if not the only, players of its kind in the NYC area, and as a result, the quality of the food there has taken a back seat over the years. read more

Went today for a roast beef sandwich and was grossed out by the bugs that were inside the sandwich! Yes! I said BuGS! I cannot believe and chain such as Mcallister wouldn't be conscious on how to handle food properly! And the bugs were big and obvious on the sandwich! I will never go back to this restaurant again, I'm sure this is not the first time it's happen! read more

Bad experience at this McAlisters. Close it down immediately or hire new staff. The food is mediocre. Sandwiches are alright and more than likely will not hurt your belly. But the staff, OMG. There isn't much work they need to do other than take your order at the front and give it to you but somehow something goes wrong 50% of the time. read more

Oh my. A classic example of why the owner needs to always be onsite. Franchise Owner was nowhere in site during the high time from 12 noon-2PM Employees bumping into each other, no hustle at all. The gal who took our order didnt get one thing right. They wanted to make the correct sandwich and were very nice, but we don't like to take advantage. its sad, but most likely its going to play out like this-they are located on a hard corner in a great location. But, At 1pm, there were only 5 tables with 2-3 people, so call it an average table ticket of $35. There is simply not enough margin in this business to be on a hard corner. Location-Location -location is not always smart, when there is no margin-margin-margin. I predict them closing or moving within 1 year or sooner. Its sad, because the concept is great but too many employees running around doing god knows what. The manager was on the floor sweeping from 1PM to 2PM. She needs to be behind the counter monitoring all going on and making sure that orders are expediting efficiently. Go into a Jason's deli and than go into McAlisters and you'll see what I mean. You just get this feeling that nobody is steering the ship and its sad. read more

I read the reviews and tried it because they carry a turkey cranberry salad that I love, and their salad was very good. They didn't skimp on the pecans and crans, and it was very fresh. I also ordered a bowl of chili which I do not recommend. Flavor was too similar to Wienerschnitzel, and appearance was NOT appetizing. Chili should not have finely ground meat! Another con was music inside was far too loud. I will come back to try a sandwich. read more
