I ordered a new york sandwich which was a mix of pastrami and corn beef. It was ok the cornbeef didn't have the flavor i thoght it should and it was dry, they also don't have russian dressing. Good spot for a healthier lunch option. I had a turkey sandwich and a drink. The staff was friendly and the tables were clean. It was getting crowded during the lunch rush, but it wasn't overwhelming. A break from tacos and enchiladas is always welcomed. read more

Sorry to say there's been a change, and it's not a good one. Ordered a big BLT with avocado, there was one slice of tomato and one skinny sliver of lettuce. Had to look for the avocado. This one is no exception. I met some friends from Mexico here. They had never been to a Jason's Deli, and they loved it. Jasons has the best salad bar in the RGV, always fresh, lots of choices, best salad dressings. Their sandwiches, soups, potatoes and pastas are also excellent. The sandwiches (hot or cold) are loaded and made quickly with fresh ingredients. There are also great options for vegetarians or those on gluten free diets. I usually get the manager special: a half sandwich and one trip to the salad bar (or soup). I have to gauge myself at the salad bar as the plate is large enough I can easily gather more food than I can eat. Jasons has a long list of featured sandwiches, Panini's, wraps, hoagies, muffulettas and clubs. My favorites include the California Club, Ruben the Great, and the Beefeater (like a French Dip). If by the wild chance you can't find one to your liking you can "build your own". The soups are superb. My wife loves the broccoli cheese. I like the Irish potato soup, fire roasted tortilla or the spicy seafood gumbo. The self serve drink station has several varieties of freshly brewed iced tea as well as a large variety of sodas. Coffee and teas are also available. Don't forget to try their complimentary delicious mini muffins! My favorite is the dark one with the molasses flavor! And top off your visit with a cone or cup of soft serve ice cream. Order and pay as you enter, get your receipt and buzzer. Show your receipt to the attendant at the pick up counter (get any salad plates and silverware needed), find a table. Most times your sandwich, soup or other hot entree will be ready by the time you finish going through the salad bar. The buzzer will let you know when your hot entree is ready for pickup. Bathroom is always clean. The dining room can be crowded at peak hours. But I have always found a table. For the price and quality of food and service you really will be hard pressed to find a better deal. read more

Ok so when evaluating you need to evaluate food ambiance and service. So giving Jason's deli a 5 would be just, you aren't a serious rater. There is no ambiance at Jason's deli lol. It's like a cafeteria. And the service is nothing. You order get your food and sit down. But the food fucking rocks. For what it is. Jason's Deli was a good meal to have on a Sunday afternoon. It was mostly packed, but seating was available. My wife had received a coupon for 5 dollars off of a dessert for being her birthday week. She decided to get a strawberry shortcake. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed there wasn't any on display. Upon inquiry, we were told they had ran out. However, they lady at the counter asked if any could be done. She said that they would make one for us and take it to the table. That was greatly appreciated. The meals themselves were ok. My wife had a turkey wrap. The option to only order half was available. Since she doesn't eat much, this was perfect for her. She found it appetizing and enjoyed it with kettle chips. I ordered the Alfredo pasta. Normally, it's my favorite. However, the dish today was disproportionate. There was an excessive amount of pasta (no problem there) but not enough diced chicken (big problem here). I usually have that plate delivered to my work place and they've never been stingy on the chicken. I hope today was an exception. I still enjoyed the pasta but didn't feel like the protein portion was adequate for what I was used to. read more

When we walked in the door there was a white board advertising a BBQ sandwich with ONION RINGS. I ordered it. When it arrived there were no ONION RINGS. When I questioned the staff I was told that was the raw onions that came on the sandwich. Fairly deceitful! BBQ was average at best. Only saving grace was the ice cream machine. Delivery! Thank goodness for the convenience of food delivery service...other than pizza, and sometimes Chinese food. That way we don't have to stop drinking the beers or leave the hotel to enjoy tasty deli sammiches. We've tried Jason's a couple of times and I've placed a phone order, which was pretty simple. The online ordering had a glitch. There wasn't a confirmation, so another order was placed. Suddenly two wild delivery guys from different locations showed up. Unfortunately, one was turned away. Pretty much thumbs up for everything we've tried, from soups to specialty sandwiches. I've had the California club and Rueben the Great. My friends approve the New Yorker and the chicken panini. Other than the online screw up, the snacks from Jason's Deli is yummy. It's not exactly an old school classic Jewish delicatessen, but it's a welcome alternative to boring Subway sandwiches. read more

So.......it's the middle of the COVID-19 hysteria and the restaurant has everyone gloved, masked but not gowned, as in the O.R. Amazing! Weren't they afraid of everyone getting the plague because the whole World doesn't look as though they're about to do a heart transplant? Anyway, I do my usual and have salad bar there and also order a Ruben to go. As I'm eating the salad, a girl brings the table about 15 feet away from me a bagged sandwich, puts its on the table and walks away. As I heard this group all order the salad bar, I know that this table was just given my to-go sandwich. She opens the bag, opens the clamshell to see what's inside, recognizes that it isn't anything anyone at the table has ordered, places it in the bag after closing the clamshell container and pushes it to the edge of the table. About ten minutes later, the same employee goes to the table and retrieves the order in the bag. As I predicted, she rebags it so the torn bag isn't noticed and staples the torn receipt to the bag. When I go to retrieve my take-out order, this same, used sandwich in a new bag is offered to me, assuming that I'm a chump and will eat foot examined by another patron. I obviously don't take it and inquire--loudly--whether this is the same sandwich she delivered to the other table, now rebagged and being pawned off on me? The manager comes up and I point out the absurdity of all the masks, sneeze shields and gloves being worn, but giving a customer a sandwich handled by another customer should be no problem? The sandwich is remade and given to me. Now, the good part. The girl born without common sense offers no apology. The manager on duty offers no apology. I write to corporate and receive zero response. Quite clearly, this restaurant chain not only doesn't want my return business, they are hoping that NO ONE comes back and they go under. I'm hoping to make that wish come true. What was once a great dining experience has gone to crap. I obviously won't set foot in the place and neither should you. read more

Jason's Deli is a dependable choice for a good meal. Their sandwiches always taste really good. My favorite is the beefeater, which has roast beef with melted provolone on a hoagie roll with ausjus to dip it in. It comes with chips and you can have as many pickles as you want from the salad bar. Speaking of salad bar, they have a good one. It always is well stocked and the ingredients are fresh. It features lots of toppings and salad sides. I really enjoy the roasted red pepper hummus. Also I love that they have both regular jumbo green olives as well as kalamata. You can eat a very lovely healthy meal here at a reasonable price. But if you aren't stuck on being healthy you will want to enjoy the free soft serve available to all customers before you leave. Jason's Delis is so good, but I rarely go. This location is closest to my spot, and also the ONLY one that I've visited. The Bird to the Wise is the absolute best, and can easily be two meals. They offer various soups daily, but I love their Potato Soup w/ bacon and cheese. OMG! Seemed like a fast food type of place with a lot of seating. It has a salad bar and free soft serve ice cream. I am interested, I ordered a pot roast sandwich and it came as a deli sub. WOW! Was the roast beef tender and tasty. I had the salad bar with my meal and had plenty to choose from. Topped it off with ice cream and I was completely satisfied, but wait. The had these little muffins that were fresh and tasted like gingerbread cookies. Give me more please! read more

I'm a hardcore Subway fanatic but this place may have changed that. I always thought this place was all hipe but when my girlfriend decided we should go there, I had to find out for myself. I won't lie. It was really great. I tried the beefeater sandwich which was roast beef with Swiss cheese on French bread with a dipping sauce. I added avocado and pico de gallo. It was the bomb. It's a chain. That said, for the Valley, it has consistent quality offerings at a reasonable price--a combination that can be hard to find elsewhere. Large seating area and parking lot. Jason's in one of my favorites down here because it is so easy and good. Downsides include, overall dirty conditions and air conditioning units where leak condensation on customers. read more
