A quaint family owned bbq place. It's a small, but very personalized place with excellent service. I was seated right away and noticed families, seniors, and young people all enjoying their meal. I ordered the fresh made lemonade, which for me was the only real downfall. The "lemonade" had no lemon flavor. It's like what you would find at a fair, all sugar - no lemon. Definitely not worth the 3.75 I paid for it. For my meal I ordered the lean brisket sandwich. They make their own bbq sauce which is vinegar based, but just a hint on the sweet side. A really nice flavor balance! The sandwich comes with your choice of two sides, beans, rice, or potato salad. I'm not a fan of any of those, so I had a bag of chips. The sandwich was 8.75 - very reasonable for home smoked brisket. Over all, a good place to eat! I love supporting the little guys, and small businesses with good food. Maybe ima BBQ snob but unfortunately Uncle Roy's didn't meet my expectations. I had high hopes due to the high Yelp ratings. And to look at the joint it LOOKS like it would be a great bbq joint - small, nondescript building with a lot of oak rounds used for smoking, out front. Maybe our group of ten overwhelmed them. I don't know. But, I judge all bbq joints on the quality of their brisket and on that, Roy's was not up to par. Those that had combo plates - a brisket slice, a piece of sausage and chicken plus sides of beans, rice and potato salad, we're not overly impressed. I ordered the combo plate plus a brisket taco. Unfortunately I didn't get the combo plate but did get the taco. After eating 1/2 of the taco I chose to not ask for the plate. The brisket had no discernible smoke flavor at all. When I looked at the two folks next to me their brisket had no smoke ring AND required a knife to cut!!! I looked a little closer and the reason was apparent; they'd cut the brisket WITH the grain, not across the grain!! That's brisket 101!!! Anyway, others said the potato salad was basically tasteless and the beans, mixed with the rice which I got from my wife was pretty bland. I resorted to adding bbq sauce to my taco and the sauce was thin and watery, sweet with little tang and no heat at all. Pretty much Sweet Baby Rays watered down. So our lunch with one combo plate, one brisket combo, a bottled water and a glass of lemonade with tax totaled $24 and change which was overpriced for what we received. We tried it out and won't be back since there's far better bbq closer to home and for less money. Usually I'll plan on giving places a second try but this isn't worth the drive. read more

I really like this place. I first tried it out because I bought a bbq ticket for a fundraiser. It was the chicken plate which includes a leg quarter, rice, beans, potato salad, and 2 slices of bread. I was surprised at how juicy the chicken was and how tasty the sides are. The potato salad is so good! I enjoyed it so much I went back today and got the same plate for $5.95. I totally recommend this place. It's inexpensive and very very good! They even have a drive thru so you don't have to get off. I wanted to take a picture but I forgot. :( read more

Love this place. Love their sausage plate and the potato salad is out of this world for someone who doesn't always love potato salad. Their barbecue sauce is the perfect balance between sweet and vinegar. Pretty sure they prepare everything to order, so even the drive thru takes a couple minutes, but it is well worth any wait. If you're searching for great BBQ without having to take out a second mortgage like some other fancy dancy we made the review of Texas Monthly so we need to charge an arm and a leg prices (smoking moon), then this is the place to go. The indoor decor feels like grandma went nuts at the flea market but the food and the prices will bring you back for seconds and thirds...so if you're looking for that hole in the wall place...and I do mean hole in the wall, with great BBq at prices you can feed your family this is the spot. read more

Hubby and I came here on a chance, after reading good reviews of the place. We got a meal for two, with three meats, beans, rice, potato salad, and the usual local favorites, white bread, pickles, onions and jalapenos. We chose brisket, pork ribs and sausage. The place smelled good, and was sort of cute and rustic. I didn't like the seasoning in the potato salad too much. The ribs were tasty, but the brisket seemed more steamed than smokey. Tender, yes, but almost too much so. The sausage was rather dry and I didn't like it very much myself. Hubby liked it ok. The food was not bad, but it wasn't great either. I doubt that I will go back. It was worth a shot. read more

I went to Uncle Roy's BBQ for the first and last time yesterday. It was WAY over priced and the portions were very small. I had the combination plate and baked potatoe. For $10 I would have thought the potatoe would be at least medium sized. It was so small, and the combination plate was ridiculous. I service was pretty fast. The potato salad was bland. The brisket was good l, chicken alrite. It's an OK place but, I prefer Rudy's BBQ.
