I loved the smell of the food when I first walked in and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the Cattleman's Plate. When it comes to the food I loved the rice, beans, and potato salad. The chicken and sausage was ok. The rest was very disappointing. The beef rib was dry - like eating beef jersey off the bone. The pork rib left a lot to desire. The brisket was tuff and super greasy. This is a decent pace for a brisket meal. Served with a side of rice and beans. Other menu items look tasty, and I will have to return to try these out. Usually, I drink unsweetened tea, but Ramos BBQ only serves a sweetened tea. I don't know if the tea comes from a mix, but it was good. Ok, back to the brisket sandwich; it was served on an bun and with plenty of brisket! Seasoned just right, I might add, because other places, I sometimes have to add more sauce to dry brisket. The rice was a little bland for my taste, and the beans were good. I opted to add potato salad and enjoyed this. I never order potato salad because I'm not much for potato salad. Weird that I even ordered it! But it was pretty good. My sister makes excellent potato salad hence I don't order it in restaurants. Came here on a week day, and using a fundraiser ticket that I purchased from a colleague at work. His cousin had a rare cancer, and sadly, Jasmine, passed away leaving a beautiful daughter behind. Price is a bit high for the quality of food. I would assume that food is probably cooked in bulk days before it's actually served. Today my food was lacking flavor and you can tell that it was reheated which caused it to be tough and flavorless. No plans in returning. read more

Decided to support local businesses due to the pandemic so we went here instead of BarBeCuties. Food was good,however, the curbside person was not wearing a mask or gloves and I saw her touching her nose (outside of course). When we brought food home we had to take extra precautions in sterilization because my wife is a nurse and catching covid 19 from dining out would be devastating to many others besides our household. I ordered the chicken and sausage plate with rice, beans and potato salad, along with a half pound of pork spare ribs and a sliced brisket sandwich, surprisingly the price points were spot on for all that food, to my dismay the taste and quality of the meats didn't deliver! The rice and potato salad tasted good, beans had a good flavor but lacked "Jugito" juice and dry. The chicken and ribs had an oven flavor not an authentic "Smoked/Bbq" taste one craves when seeking such a meal! The brisket sandwich was a good size for the price and had a decent flavor. But for me overall just didnt hit the spot nor the flavor profile I've been craving! Not that long ago my whole office ordered cheeseburger combos from this place a total of six. When they were delivered the burgers had no cheese on them even though we were charged for the cheese as an upcharge. Then to top it off the french fries were disgusting and dripping oil. It's pretty hard to mess up BBQ and have a simple, not picky guy like myself grab my phone to write a review on yelp. Well this place has succeeded in doing so. I cannot believe how awful it was. The guy at the register was rude and off putting. When I asked him for half pound of brisket and fajitas, he looked at me as I had never been to a BBQ restaurant before. He began to inform me that my order didn't include, sides, bread or any other condiments. I was fully aware of what I was ordering, but to not include pickles and onions with an order of sliced brisket is preposterous! I smiled and walked away. There was only one other patron and it took 30 minutes to receive our order. When I saw the fajitas, I immediately noticed ugly burnt marks you can only get from a stovetop. I went up to the young man and I asked him if the fajitas were indeed cooked on the stovetop. He said bluntly 'yes'..! I followed to ask if that's usually how they cook their meat, and he replied, "well we heat them back up on the stove top". Once again, I smiled and walked away. The brisket was horribly drowned in sauce. I guess in order to mask its very sloppy, unprofessional methods of BBQing. Save your money, go to HEB, and use a foreman grill. I am guessing they are trying to drum up business, because they have a fundraising scheme. My husband purchased two tickets to help a university group. The ticket was for a chopped brisket sandwich plate. He ordered chopped brisket without sauce for me--as that is what I always get. They said we had to take sauced chopped brisket. I don't like that. If you want more business, then you should try to make your customers happy. I would have paid a little extra for what I wanted, but they were not flexible. read more

I don't usually write reviews but for this particular restaurant I'm going to make an exception. Service has never been an issue for me but if there is one thing I hate it is being rushed to order. When I go to a restaurant I am sometimes unsure of what I intend to order. So like any other paying customer I like to take my time and look over the menu. I went to the restaurant around 3pm one day recently and it was not busy so I assumed they would appreciate my business, but apparently the cashier in the front seemed to be preoccupied. She was an older, light complected woman who at first seemed a little too friendly and then suddenly had the urge to start rushing me. As soon as she took my order she rushed to back and disappeared so there was no one in sight other than the cook. I wanted to add on to my order but I was unable, due to the fact that she was preoccupied with something more important away from the restaurant than customers. I eventually received my order from the cook with a broken thank you and soon after left the restaurant without ever seeing sight of the woman again. I would understand if they were completely swamped with customers but there were literally no customers in sight at the time so I couldn't grasp what would have been so important to first rush your customer then neglect them. It made no sense, she really needs to work on her customer service or they need to get rid of her. read more
