Decent place for a quick barbecue. The food was good enough for a quick lunch meal. Prices were fair. I didn't like the macaroni and cheese, It was way too thick, and I couldn't eat it. read more

Ordered a moist brisket plate with bbq beans and mashed potatoes, a chopped brisket sandwich and corn nuggets for delivery. Potatoes didn't come with gravy as advertised in the picture. Only got 2 smallish slices of brisket, and it wasn't moist, it was more than half fat. It wasn't even lukewarm, it was absolutely cold to the touch. Bbq beans were okay, but with everything else I mentioned, just not happy with my meal. Yall gotta do better. I really don't think I'll be coming back after this experience. read more

Menu is alacarte so it gets pricey but the BBQ is good. They need to put together a plate meal for ribs and brisket.

I had family coming over and was planning to grab some pizza, but the prices were shocking! So I decided to Google restaurants nearby, and Bar-B-Cutie popped up. I checked out their family packages and headed to the drive-through, where Julio helped me pick the perfect Family Value Pack. He was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions--even about the new family pack, El Chapo. It made a huge difference to feel like I was actually being helped rather than just picking up generic food. And let me tell you--the brisket was awesome!! This was a real meal, not just cardboard-tasting fast food. I'll definitely be back for more! read more

We ordered a spread for Sunday lunch. We had the ribs, chicken, sausage and brisket. As for sides, we got potato salad, fries and beans. The portions are pretty generous. The brisket is moist and juicy. Really well done! The sausage also was great. The ribs and chicken we ordered were ok. The batch we got were too salty and too peppery. The chicken was on the dryer side. The sides were ok, as well. Not bad, but not memorable either. They do load you up with bread, onion, pickles and barbq sauce, which is nice. Maybe it was just this location. I'd be willing to give them one more try. read more

Very very good brisket. The meat was moist and warm. It fell apart. It didn't need bbq sauce, but I tried the spicy with it. Amazing!! I also got a salad. It was ok. Service was pretty good. read more

Delicious food each and every time. I order food there for my large gathering when I don't feel like lighting up my pit .

The Victor is perfect if you can't decide between brisket or sausage sandwich . It's got both. With a cold sweet tea and pecan pie with a scoop of ice cream. Yum! read more

Decent bar-b-que! I've had fantastic to dry and horrible bar-b-que here in Texas. Bar-B-Cutie is a good place to go for a good meal. Enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and got some onions and a jalapeño with pickled carrots to compliment this sandwich and it made it even better. Bar-B-Cutie's has four sauces, there is picture, which remain on each table for anyone to add to his/her bar-b-que. I tried each and all are delish!!! Their coleslaw is sadly blah tasting and expensive. But being a true Yelper, I will return and try other bar-b-qued meats and other tasty looking meats and sides! They have plenty to keep me coming back! They had desserts options, but nothing looked inviting today. Next time because I enjoy my desserts! :) Good place to enjoy some local bar-b-que. read more

Great food. Very close to our home and place was real clean. Price is very affordable. Will go there again. I highly recommend this place

My son and I had a late lunch here today. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a side order of onion rings. My son got one of the featured sandwiches with brisket and cheese sausage. He also got a side order of fried okra. I really enjoyed the full pork sandwich. It was very tender and not greasy. I especially enjoyed the pulled pork with the Carolina barbecue sauce. They offered ranch dressing to go with onion rings. I tried it but did not care for that combination as much. I noticed they had a green salsa, and tried that with onion rings and really liked it. I was glad to see they added a Mexican style salsa. Sandwiches are served on wax paper in a basket. They have plastic forks, knives and spoons if you were eating something that needs that. They offer a family "gender neutral" bathroom as well as gender specific bathrooms in the back. They have a second dining room in the back which is decorated very nice. Overall I like this place and recommend it to others. read more

Bar-B-Cutie has all the makings of a good BBQ spot but definitely fell short of my expectations. The ribs were very tender but honestly flavorless inside. I added a significant amount of salt and pepper from the table so it wasn't bland. The brisket was even worse. Yes tender, but the slices were a bit thick which leads me to believe they were overcooked. Totally tasteless. I am not a fan of BBQ spots that depend on sauce for flavor. Texas BBQ should just be salt and pepper! read more

Have eaten here several times. Very good Barb que. I always get the brisket or the chicken. Usually go thru the drive thru. But have gone inside once and it was nice very clean. It is self service like most Barb que places . Wish they'd just wait the tables. I am disabled and standing in line is bar for me. read more

Dishes: brisket sandwich, panchos Time of wait: no wait. You order before you sit down. Wait for food: 5 minutes Taste: the brisket was very moist, tender, juicy and delicious! It could have used a little more flavor though. The pachos consist of nachos, beans, cheese and your choice of meat. I chose brisket. This dish was perfect for my picky eating kids. They absolutely loved this! It can feed a family of 4 easily. Atmosphere: very clean restaurant and friendly staff. I like that there's sinks outside of the restrooms to wash your hands. Kid Friendly: Yes! There's a playground area for your little ones. Price: a little on the pricey side read more

This place may be called BBC but I'd give the food an A A A! I tried a quarter pound of the lean brisket (that's the smallest portion you can get) with sweet bbq sauce along with the coleslaw and mac n cheese and boy was it yummy! To be honest, the brisket was good on its own as well so feel free to skip the sauce. If you're looking for southern comfort food with great service, Bar-B-Cutie totally hits the spot! read more

The sliced brisket was way overcooked, so dry you had to wash it down with your drink and absolutely tasteless.

I came at 1:50pm and sat down with my food at 2:00pm. Fast high quality smoked brisket. My favorite is the moist brisket and the food selection in general. My only gripe is that there is no infant carriers. Maybe they have some, but I didn't see any. In any case, I recommend this place for a quick Texas bite. Nice work, guys! read more

Their food always tastes great and they prepare it pretty quickly! They are friendly and polite as well!

The brisket is very good very soft and not hard my experience has always been good I also do recommend the panchos very good.

I came here with my mother. It's a super modern looking place. Disclaimer: I'm by no means a bbq snob, and have only tried a handful of bbq places. This is what I imagine everyone assumes I eat daily, whenever I tell them I'm from Texas. Truth is, this area is unlike the rest of the state and there are just a handful of bbq restaurants around (especially compared to Mexican food places). Still, among those I have tried, this one has stacked up really well. My mom had their moist brisket and absolutely loved it. She wasn't very pleased with the taste of their Cowboy Stew though. I had their pulled pork sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, a bag of jalapeño chips, and a pecan chocolate brownie. It was all incredibly delicious. Their brownie was my absolute favorite. The top part was a thick layer of chocolate (I should probably mention that's probably why it's served cold). I only wished it was bigger, but considering it's loaded with sugar, the smaller portion is probably a good call. They had country music playing in the background the whole time and a football game on the tv. I'm not a country listener whatsoever, but I did appreciate the occasional Taylor Swift song. read more

They did not have Turkey Sandwiches available at the time I went. The rice is good and also the potatoes salad. I haven't gone back yet.

If you love BBQ, then you will love Bar-B-Cutie's! God, this place is phenomenal and the wall of accolades next to the register obviously proves it. I'm really happy my grandparents brought me to this restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual, the ideal setting for eating messy BBQ. They have a drive-thru for those not wishing to dine in and there is a play area in the back for kids to run around in. The menu is very straight forward offering sandwiches and meat by the pound. There are some specialty items like brisket ponchos (I've heard they're good), and the BBQ stuffed potatoes. Their appetizer menu is composed of various fried delicacies, think jalapeños and corn nuggets. My smoked turkey was beyond phenomenal and super juicy and flavorful. The smoked sausage was easily heavenly and I loved their mild hot sauce. The Carolina hot sauce was too vinegar-y for my taste, but I know there are some people who buy it by the gallon. Uhhhhh, I could've tried one of everything on the menu but it's swimsuit season! They have fresh Texas toast that comes on the side and dill pickle potato salad. Do you need a BBQ fix? Don't look anywhere else. RUN to Bar-B-Cutie's! read more

I eat a lot of turkey breast...it's the perfect healthy protein choice!! So I look for places that offer legit breast, not deli meat. I've visited BarBCutie several times and found their turkey breast to be just acceptable. But, this time I have to say something! You can get by for awhile with just acceptable cuz the choices in McAllen are limited. But truth is, their turkey is dry enough to pass for jerky. You shouldn't have to put so much sauce on the meat that all you taste is sauce!! I would rather eat dirt than their turkey breast! I ain't doin it! read more

Food is great but customer service at the drive thru today was the worst. I had some questions and the employee was very rude. Although the food is great I will not return when the customer service is this way. Id rather take my business to Rudy's where they're ALWAYS courteous. read more

We came for lunch and we both got the brisket sandwich (chopped) it was pretty good for it being free . We ordered a side of fries and they were really good. My sandwich tasted spicy but I don't know if it was the sauce that I put (even though it said sweet) that made it taste that way. I liked coming here. Staff was nice. read more

I am a very picky with my Brisket specially when places like Rudy's sells it super dry. When it first opened i gave it a couple weeks before trying it. First thing i ordered was moist brisket and it was the best, so good i returned again later that same week. Second time I ordered brisket nachos expecting a small basket but instead got brisket nachos big enough for two. (Which got me excited). Their green salsa is the best, and don't get me started with the sweet tea. After the first two times it all went down hill from there.(for my bi-fold at least) i go twice every two weeks maybe more. The service is great. Must try and my favorites are the "THE VICTOR" and "THE MARK" but can't forget the brisket potato. to be honest my mouth is getting watery so I'm headed that way now. Great way to start the day and the week. read more

I am a big BBQ fan and I am always looking for places that have good quality BBQ. I had heard about this place and was told it was good so I decided to give it a try. Food: I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it sure didn't disappoint! I loved how at the table you had the BBQ sauces, which meant I could put as much BBQ as I wanted without having to ask for extra sauce. The food was very well maid and everything looked neat and clean, which is a major plus for me. Service: The staff was very helpful during my experience since they took the time to explain the menu and explained everything to me. They were very attentive and saw them constantly checking on tables and making sure everything was fully stocked such as the drinks area. I totally recommend this place to everyone who is looking for some good BBQ! read more

Not a bad BBQ place in the McAllen area. The meats weren't very flavorful but they were lean and had a little juice to them, you can definitely have worse brisket, the brisket was lean and not bland but not a lot of rub or smoked for very long. The sausage was good, better than Rudy's. The BBQ beans were a little too heavy on the BBQ sauce in them. However their selection of BBQ sauces and the flavor in them are very delicious. My favorite sauce is the sweet, but the mild and hot were good too! read more

First off, let me say that the food and speed of service are fantastic! We placed our order quickly and got our food in a timely manner; and it was delicious! My problem here (which seems to be a common theme among barbecue houses) is the cost; also that everything is ordered a la carte (no combos at all). A barbecue beef sandwich is $6.40 (with tax) and comes on a bun about the size of a 1/4 pound hamburger. I ordered two chopped beef sandwiches and the meat did not completely cover the bread on either sandwich. Perhaps the sandwich would be worth that if the meat was piled on, but it wasn't; they could have at least covered the bread on the bun. My wife ordered a smoked turkey sandwich at a cost of $6.22 (including tax). Her slices did cover the bread and my wife was happy with her portion. But, again, that is pretty expensive for a sandwich by itself with nothing else included. This place really needs some combo plates discounts to make things more affordable. Even the meat plates didn't include any sides, you had to pay for everything separately and it was very pricey. Our check total for 3 sandwiches came to $19.02 (we had water to drink). Our sandwiches were between very warm and hot; just the right temperature to dig in. The sauce used in my sandwiches were was delicious; I also added some of the "Hot" barbecue sauce that was on the table which gave it an even better flavor. In the future, we will probably eat there once in a while when we have some extra money to spend; maybe 2-3 times a year. read more

Decided to try this place out since I'm in town now 3x a week. Order at the counter and get your food quick =) I ordered the chopped bbq sandwich and some fried pickles. They meat was sooo good and they really stuffed it. Great assortment of homemade bbq sauce on the table and self serve for pickles, onions, etc. Atmosphere is very laid back felt like I was sitting at home having some bbq. My only complaint is the fried pickles. I am a fried pickle fanatic and while the breading was super good, the pickle was so thin I couldn't taste it. Felt like I ordered a basket of fried breading. A thicker pickle cut would make these incredible. Overall I really loved this place and will be back to try those panchos =) read more
