There was, up until recently, a café/restaurant in Rathmines whose decoration and menu very much put me in mind of this place, it was a lovely place to go for a hungover Sunday brunch but sadly it has gone the way of the Dodo and its name has escaped me entirely. The room is small with only a few tables scattered around which gives the feeling of space and you are not sitting on top of the people at the next table - which makes a very nice change indeed.
The menu is small to be sure but the food is good and there is a modest wine menu to accompany it.
In the corner is a fire place which I really hope they light in the coming winter months, it would be the cherry on top for the café and would have me travel all the way from Sandymount for a coffee without so much as a grumble. read more
