Service was great. I have an issue that I thought should be addressed with the cook. I ordered a noodle bowl that included kimchi. There was a quantity of Korean hot sauce but no fermented cabbage. Anyway I ate the dish and didn't argue. But the next time I will send it back. Next thing not every one likes thick bacon. Order up some thin bacon and give a customer the choice of thin or thick. This restaurant is the best in the immediate area, and the location,view and atmosphere is very pleasant. I've been dining there at least two times a month for over the last two years which should add credibility to my comments, as follows: Menu and meals: Many meals are very good, but there are some that I just couldn't eat. I've dined there enough that usually I know what not to order. For example I recently ordered seafood tacos with shrimp, lobster and crab. Sounds delicious right? However i can only describe the "taco shells" as a mushy crepe that could not be picked up and had to be cut with a knife and fork (since it was so soggy). Neither shrimp nor lobster nor crab could be found in the taco, only bits of an unknown fish. I like salt but the shnitzel was so salty no one at the table could eat it. I also like heat and use a lot of hot sauce, but I've had a noodle dish that was too hot to eat. Aren't most dishes designed for the masses? That's just a few examples, but I can provide many more if needed. A basic menu item such as a burger, fish fry, the summer seafood boil, a steak, is usually very good. I don't recommend trying some specialty dish. The appetizers are all very good. Service: The service is usually pretty good, but there are times when it's bad. In my last dinner, the waitress barely broke stride when dropping off the food. I actually thought the appetizer plate broke when it was thrown on the table. Again, just one example. Please know that we are always very respectful to the waitress or waiter because the food quality is out of their control. However, in my last visit, we only saw the waitress when we ordered, the "fly by" drop off of food and when the check was dropped off, again without breaking stride. Ambiance: The location and the view are great, and the restaurant is quaint and clean. read more

We went there on a whim... The bar service was fairly good.. to be honest they were all business and not very friendly BUT what they lacked in personality they made up for in food quality. My wife had a small tenderloin topped with a crab cake and hollandaise sauce with asparagus. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We keep our sailboat at Hi Seas in Oconto and ordered carry out tonight. The perch and the ahi tuna nachos. The chips for the nachos were delicious and the tuna was amazing. We decided to try Dockside for the first time last night for my fiances birthday. We figured a weeknight would be fairly slow and we would be able to get in and out relatively fast. We arrived and the parking lot was about half full but when we walked in there were only 3 tables that had customers at them, one being outside. The weather was beautiful... we waited about 5 minutes to get seated- we requested to sit outside. We sat there with our menus for about ten minutes before we were approached by a server. She seemed preoccupied and said, "what can I get you".. we ordered our beverages and she wanted our food order right away too- we gave it to her seeing we had already decided 8 minutes prior. We sat for about 15 minutes before our drinks came to the table. During this time the other table outside tried to get in touch with her and she was no where to be found.. eventually she came out and told us the food we ordered isn't ready and we can order something else.. okay, fine, its only 5 PM on a Wednesday, maybe they decided they didn't need to make pork that day, I don't know. Regardless, we kept our order- minus the pork. 15 minutes later our appetizer came out... At this point weve been here for almost an hour. A family of 5 sat outside with 3 young children and no one can seem to find our waitress. Our food was out a while later, tasted amazing. She never came back out to ask if we needed anything, ketchup, anything like that. The family of 5 had to go inside to place drink order. We foolishly decided to order another drink- it never came. Actually, our waitress never came back either. The family of 5 asked us if the service was always like this, it was obvious the kids were uneasy and ready to go. With it being our first time here we had the same questions. The sad part is, the table of 5 were all going to get the salad bar, they just needed to tell the waitress... they left before this happened. We got our bill and left. If you have 2 hours of your life to waste and appreciate awful service this is the place for you. Gave 2 stars because the food was good- but wont return because of the service.
