A new favorite.. .Great menu, friendly service and German beers on tap...not just one lonely German beer, but a gold lager, a hefe, an Oktoberfest and a dunkel. Heaven! Had a great time there for lunch with the friendly, gregarious staff yesterday. The menu is awesome with lots of tasty seafood and comfort fare options. My meal could have been better, but I think I just ordered wrong. I got the pulled pork mac & cheese. It was quite tasty, but there was too much sweet BBQ sauce and it overwhelmed the subtle mac & cheese flavor. The portion size was obscene. I am a big guy, and I ate maybe 1/4 of it? Easily 4 pounds of pasta. I overate and made myself uncomfortable and didn't leave room for more beer. I have 3 pounds of leftover mac and cheese in my fridge and may just sprinkle some breadcrumbs over the top and rebake for dinner ( and lunch tomorrow). I should have gone for the clams; my body wasn't ready for the pasta & beer carb overload. My friends got the BLT and the buffalo chx samich. The BLT had a huge amount of thick cut bacon, with warm, fresh bread and the buffalo samich looked great, not very spicy but very tasty. The seasoned fries were excellent. It was a great time and a great meal and I can't wait to go back and I look forward to their summer Oktoberfest celebration. Prices very reasonable. read more

Was in town on business and stopped expecting typical "bar food" lunch. It was far from that -had the steak salad where the romaine was lightly grilled and the filet strips requested rare were just that and the quality of the meat was better filet than I have had for 3 times the price. Since I was there 2 days- went back and got the porchetta sandwhich- again, WOW- the pork used was spectacular- not cheap greasy pork, but well formed slices of a high quality pork- the meat didn't come from a food service truck- The menu options span the range if you are a foodie. This is truly some of the best food in northeast Wisconsin- rivals the "named" places where you pay twice as much. This place is amazing. Don't let the exterior or tourist trap location fool you. The food was pretty decent, however the service was not stellar. We ordered an appetizer basket but it never came before our meal. They charged us incorrectly for the salad bar on one of the dinners. I forgot my sour cream and salsa for my fajitas. The manager did come around and ask how everything was going with our meal tonightwe said the food is good but we did not get our appetizer combo basket. She apologized and said that she would make sure we did not get charged for it. Our server apparently after speaking with his manager brought us our bill but did not apologize for missing out on the appetizer basket he just handed us the bill and walked away. I'm not really proud to say that we didn't end up tipping him very much. But when we got our bill we were charged drawn for the salad bar we were charged nine dollars instead of five dollars since it was add it onto one of the dinners. We presented our concern with the manager over the messed charge and her response was "I guess we'll have to start watching that more closely" This was actually my first time eating here and I can definitely say it wasn't that impressive and the service or lack there of really spoiled the experience. Would NOT recommend, Customer Service 101 need to be taken by owner/manager and employees. From the moment we walked into the establishment we had a target on our back by Deborah (manager). Walked 3 steps inside and was told we need masks to walk around in the building (but nothing was told about outside) we said Ok and thanks. We had a reservation for 14 people and Deborah pointed to our tables outside which were set for 10 people. I asked a neighbor table that had 2 open chairs if we could use them. They smiled and said of course. When I brought the chairs back to the table (which we were still missing 2 spots) Deborah came darting at me telling me I had to leave. I asked why? She indicated I could not walk around outside without a mask (again never was informed of outside mask rule). I was dumbfounded at this statement as was our entire group. We have an 80 and 82 year old with us and she was very loudly saying we were kicked out and we ALL had to leave. I indicated that her review wasn't going to be good and she said "I don't care, leave". When I addressed the issue on the businesses website I was told by Raoul Zerbe that we were a problem from the beginning. "Changing our reservation from 4 to 10 and then to 14". Well I'm pretty sure the industry Dockside is in is to make money and stay in business. Why would increasing the number of people be a problem?? As I'm putting this review here I also put my thoughts on Facebook. Raoul Zerbe decided to verbally fight with my comments and others that weighted in on our experience. He also tried to say that they 80 and 82 year old grandparents weren't kicked out, just everyone else. To wrap up my review I will add that this is my second time to Dockside. The 1st time the food was not good. Burger ordered Medium Well came out bloody and could not be eaten. Grinder sandwich that myself and another ordered was poor. Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. I had seafood quesadilla that was a solid 10 Stars so delicious! Fish and chips also a 10 .Son ordered chicken Caprice which included a fresh salad bar and homemade soup- so good!!! We all got a small taste and agree with him....solid 10 Stars!!! Sweet potato fries were excellent..home cut fries were good too, I preferred the sweet potato fries over them. Portions were very generous, prices reasonable and quality so fresh and good. We will definitely be stopping again and again . We travel through Oconto often and want to try more menu choices. read more

Six months ago, ordered the schnitzel, which was nearly perfect, dine-in, and the seafood mac & cheese to go. Drooled at the thought of the mac & cheese ever since. . . Til yesterday. Had it dine- in. In a word: disappointment. Before, the cheese medley created a sensation, riotous joy for the palate. Now, it's a white sauce with some cheese melted in. Boring. I got a hold of the owner on Aug 2nd because of my interest in having them cater my daughters wedding next year. The menu looked awesome! The first email I received back after my inquiry was from the owner to give her a call. I let her know as soon as I had a break in my schedule I would give her a call which wasn't until the next day. I called and left a voicemail and then, two days later I called again, left a voicemail about reservations for lunch and perhaps linking it with a sit down on the information in regards to the catering. Two days after that I called and left another voicemail. I had not received one callback or an email. So I emailed her to see if she received my three voicemail calls. So I was pretty disappointed non the less. I never received a call or an email back so now we were saying that if this is how that works imagine having them cater a wedding and not being in touch with you . My family had reservations for 14 outside at Dockside on Saturday afternoon to celebrate family birthdays. 8 of us were sitting outside on a picnic table waiting for the others to arrive. 2 of us went in to check on table. They got a few steps inside and were told they needed to wear masks. No problem. They were informed that our tables were ready outside so they went outside and gathered who was there including my father who is 82 and mother who is 80 and needed a walker. We walked to our tables outside along the sidewalk. Our three tables only had a total of 10 chairs. There were 2 other couples dining on the patio far away from our tables. One of our party asked if we could borrow 2 of their extra chairs and they said no problem. We got the chairs and then Deborah from Dockside came out in a rage and pointed to the one who got the chairs (with the other patrons approval) and said you can leave now for not wearing a mask outside. I asked why we had to wear a mask outside at our own tables and she very rudely stated that we did not but since one of us got up and grabbed the chairs she had to leave. So I asked her if we all had to leave? Deborah said yes. This did include my elderly parents. So we said fine but you are not going to like our review. She said she was perfectly fine with a bad review. Needless to say we left. She flustered my 80 year old mother who in her confusion almost fell over a sign in the middle of the side walk with her walker. I think the owners of Dockside need to give Deborah a refresher training on customer service and not being a mask nazi while outside. None of us even knew we had to wear one outside as it was not conveyed to us. Since the owner knows many of our family, we gave her the opportunity to make it right and she did not. So, long story short...I do not recommend Dockside at all if you want good customer service and to feel comfortable having a meal. Certainly not with Deborah in attendance. We left and had a fantastic time outdoors at Wouters Sports bar instead without all the BS and drama and spent our several hundred dollars there. My family will not be back to Dockside! read more

We really enjoyed our visit - with one exception. The food was great, and although we had a new server, others servers helped her out and made our experience a good one. The only thing that was not good was the inflexible mask policy. STRICT enforcement with ZERO exceptions - even for medical issues - is not good. Food was excellent. read more

The restaurant was recommended to us, so we took we did. Food was decent but the dining experience was disappointing & distracting because of the FLIES all over our area. We were using the menu to swat them away. It was brought to the server's attention. He obviously was fully aware but no care what so ever. Not even an insincere apology..... We live there part-time in the summer & have enjoyed your restaurant BUT..... this time we brought friends there from out of town. WHAT A DIASTER! I guess Sunday's depend on what you have in stock. Our friend ordered a rib eye, rare, it came welldone. The waitress said you were out of ribeyes & wanted to give him the old one back. You wouldn't substitute mashed potatoes for any other potatoe. You were out of twice baked potatoes, scallops, mushrooms. Your salad bar sucks. It was 5$ extra with the special. Well, it ain't worth $1! I went into the bathroom & a lady in one of the stalls asked me to hand her toilet paper because there was none in her stall & then proceeded to tell me that her husband also ordered a steak welldone & it came rare. Your cook sucks too (Kimmy). Come on Raoul! Run your business like it should be run. You certainly lost our business. The ONLY good thing was the waitress Laura. She was very sweet & embarrassed by everything. Why don't YOU wait on the tables so you can take all the shit from customers that I'm sure people give your waitresses. We boated up from GB and really enjoyed the place. Restaurant is right across the street from the boat landing. We sat inside although they had a few tables outside that looked nice. Our server was great. Came up to check on drinks and food regularly. I had a bit of a special order with a flatbread and the waitress said the cook suggested it would taste better as a quesadilla (he was right). Went on a Friday night, crowded but service was good. Food came rather quickly and was quite tasty. Now for some negative thoughts, the salad bar is not worth $5 extra, but it's your choice so if you want it go for it. Our biggest issue was with the Friday fish special, although the fish was very good the tartar sauce was absolutely horrible, never tasted tartar like that in my life. We tried this place two times this past weekend on our way up north and on our way back. The first time we stopped was a Friday night so it was pretty busy which we are used to but the service was horrible! We immediately sat at the bar and asked the bartender if we could eat at the bar...she said of course and took our drink order. She then brought our drinks back without menus and never looked at us again. We ended up walking out after asking for menus and another drink numerous times. We thought maybe it was a Friday night so we would give it another chance because the place is very cute and the atmosphere is great. This time it was a Sunday afternoon not one table in the dining room! It took over 5 minutes for a hostess to tell us we could sit outside if we'd like and that a server would be right with us but unfortunately not...over 15 minutes later a "waitress" came out to take our drink order and give us menus, another 10 minutes went by and we finally placed our order. Meanwhile you can see inside that the "waitress's" are swatting flies in the dining room rather than getting us another water or drink. The food came out fairly quick and was delicious...thank goodness! This place could be a gold mine if they could just have better service.... read more
