    Sake sushi
    Jim B.

Fantastic. Still basically the same decor as when it was Berg's Landing, nicely done dining room with a super view of the bay. We came in for my daughter's birthday. My wife ordered French onion soup, and my daughter and I sushi to start. The only hitch was the soup came long before the sushi, and our entrees immediately after the sushi, so the table was a bit crowded for a while. The soup and the sushi were excellent. I ordered sake nigiri (pictured), and it was really, really good. Entrees: I had the Dutchman platter (pictured). It was really, really good, perfectly cooked and the twice baked potato was wonderful. My wife had fried shrimp, and they were great, definitely bespoke breaded shrimp, not frozen! My daughter had a wonderful plate of sausage and shrimp fettuccine, and my grandson bacon-wrapped chicken off the kids menu. All was very good. We will definitely return for a pure sushi outing! Well done, Kashiwa!

Berg's is a fantastic 5 star restaurant. They welcome you in with a big warm smile! The restaurant is such a beautiful place located off the lake. We normally start with one of their cocktails. Their menu has a nice variety of items fresh seafood , chicken, and steaks. We enjoy the appetizers of walleye strips and shrimp cocktail as well as the fresh made bread. Every meal we ordered came out perfect!! We've been coming here for years and look forward to many more years of visiting Berg's when we visit Michigan. I would recommend making a reservation they get quite busy.

    Veggie stir fry

Love this place. It's an upscale restaurant in Menominee with a full menu. I do wish there were a few more vegetarian options, but the stir fry is delicious. I do wish I could get half an order though but they do not offer that as an option. One order of stir fry is enough to feed me for three days and as I don't enjoy leftovers, that's a negative point. The salad comes quickly and the breadsticks are very good. Staff is always very friendly and the restaurant is laid out nicely.

The ambiance is awesome. Service is good and the atmosphere is quiet. Steaks were done properly and the server, Holly checked on us appropriately. Great place. Got busy early. Worth going

This spot is one of a kind. Customer service was kind, prompt and professional. Our server was patient and friendly. Making table talk enjoyable and we learned about the city this restaurant is located (Menominee, MI). The food was fresh and delicious - can't beat the price! I highly recommend the owner and this restaurant.

The food was exceptional! It is somewhat elegant but casual in ambiance but a very nice fine dining experience! The service was adequate.

We were seated right away, they weren't too busy even though we were there during the height of tourism season. It seems like they have some local regulars, which is always a good sign. The restaurant was dimly lit and nicely decorated, definitely an upscale atmosphere. We were so, so excited to find that Crate was a Coca Cola establishment. Those seem to be few and far between in Door County. So we happily ordered some Diet Cokes, and some refills. Come to find out later, they were $3 each!! I had a vegetarian sushi roll, and Deb ordered a Ramen bowl. They were pricy, but not more than one might expect from a touristy area. However, comma. $20 Crab Rangoons? Surely these must be some amazing rangoons, mother. We had to try. My sushi roll was fine, maybe a bit heavy on the vinegar from the sauce that was drizzled on it. The Crab Rangoons were hot and fresh, but honestly not any more amazing than those from my local Chinese restaurant. I likely wouldn't order them again at this price. If I am in the area again, I'd go to Crate if that is what the group wants to do. For me personally, it was just a bit too expensive for what it was.

We seek these dishes out when traveling in Florida. The dishes here were equal if not better. Cathy, the exceptional server who makes a fantastic old fashioned, laughed at how clean our plates were. All were full and was told that if we were to dine outside our meals would come out faster, but I would have to come back inside to place orders. Took a picture of the menu, which other than what the protein was did not go into a description or what would come with the entree. Came back in with orders and was first told need card to put on hold then said, maybe just charge for entire ticket might work best. So that is what I did. The card machine also asks for the tip up front as well. Meals come out fried fish platter for two, which I was told was better deal for our two folks than ordering each separately really didn't come out any different then what they were getting if single order. Seabass was maybe 4 inches by 4 inches in size and the grits were not creamy like you would expect, but clumpy. Asparagus was thinner than a pencil and tasteless. My granddaughter's steak looked okay, but she had to cut it with a plastic fork and knife as none was provided for any of us and meals all came out on paper plates. Everyone except for the seabass order came with fries and we had to ask for ketchup and a squirt was added to the paper plates. No one came around to see how we were enjoying our meals or if we need any refills (husband had to go in and get a glass bottle of tap water for the table.) If the staff would have come around and checked on us they would have gotten an earful. I get now why they want you to pay ahead of time and not at the end of service because no one will becoming around to check on you and they want their money up front. I would not have tipped generously for what we were served and how we were not checked up upon. This place to the locals may be a gem, but to folks on vacation wanting a great meal and overall experience it was not. Over priced, lack of service from staff, not so great food and lack of indoor seating. If I could it would have been no stars.
