Some products have even quadrupled in price! Besides that, they're always trying to sell expired meat, which IS EXPIRED if it has today's date on it! They don't seem to understand community loyalty. I think most people are happy to support a store that makes enough to keep the doors open, pay their workers a fair wage and a fair profit to ensure their family is cared for, but we aren't interested in buying you another vacation home when our neighbors struggle to feed their families! Most people can no longer afford shop here and go out of their way to shop at Green Bay or Marinette stores. It is very sad that what was once a fair priced, small town grocery is now focused on maximum profit and following the poor example of the surrounding grocery store chains. I do my best to avoid shopping here now, so I don't have to pay 20-40% more for everything. Thankfully I can get most of what we need at Aldi, Kwik Trip, and Dollar General.

The produce looked good and fresh. We were hoping to pick up some local pasta that we had found online, however unfortunately they were out of stock. If you go in during the day, for the most part, our Super Walmart is a pretty standard Walmart to visit. But if you go in on the evenings, you will get an entirely different type of shopping experience. Depending on what time of night you visit the Super Walmart in Marinette, WI, you have a 50/50 chance of coming in on a shift where they only have a single cashier manning the front checkout lines. Many times I will come in later in the evening (Midnight, 1AM, 2AM) and there will be a line of people waiting to be checked out and only a single person running a cash register. Even more frustrating every single time I have come into the building, the self checkout lines are closed. Last time I was in Walmart, it wasn't until I openly and verbally complained about the lack of cashiers that someone called another employee up to the front to take care of the crowd of people lining up to check out. I remember when Walmart used to have two or three cashiers on duty at any given time of the night, that isn't including a support staff employee at the customer service counter. These days it's very rare to see more then one person manning the front registers. Even more annoying is their new penny pinching attitude. If a product was improperly labeled or advertised in their building, Walmart used to be more then willing sell the product for what it was listed as. I don't know if it's a new corporate rule or if it is simply the Walmart in our area, but the last few times I picked something up by mistake because it was literally stuffed in the wrong spot, they refused to honor the prices it was listed for. Many people in the area feel a certain frustration with the Walmart in our area and for the time being it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Hopefully Walmart makes some sort of attempts at running a better business.

It's a limited release and he was a fan last year (which was a chore to find) and he wasn't to get some if I ran across any. I went to New Beligiums website and found that the nearest grocery store that carried it was Econofoods in Sturgeon Bay. Sturgeon Bay is a 2 hour drive from my home, but I like taking drives and it was autumn so I figured, screw it, I will take half a day off work and take a drive to get some beer for my in-law (and a 6 pack for myself). I called Econofoods asking if they had the beer. They took my number down and said they would check and call me back. The made good on this and called me in about 15 minutes, letting me know that they had the beer and that they would set however many I wanted aside for me to come and pick up. It was raining cats and dogs when I left, so my idea of a nice autumn drive went out the window. Even better, once I got into town my cars check engine light came on. I didn't think much of it, but almost immediately after getting onto bridge on 57 my car gave me a warning that my transmission was overheating. Yikes! I pulled over, found a mechanic, and got into a loner car and then headed over to Econofoods. They tons of the beer I was looking for, I loaded up the cart (completely forgetting that they had set aside beer for me) and headed home. A week later, about when I was going to return to pick up my car, I received a voice mail from Econofoods saying that they still had my beer up at the desk and asked me if I was going to be coming in to pick it up.
