This is an outstanding butcher shop. They carry all local products, and do the butchering on site…read more Superior quality and fair prices. They make their own sausage and will cut anything to order. Some cuts are not always in stock, but they will get it with reasonable notice. Service is outstanding. Friendly, knowledgable and prompt. They have started a catering business, which I have not used, but these people do everything right, so it surely will be good. Same family, but not same ownership, as Marchants in Brussels, Wi. I think the meats are better at the Sturgeon Bay store, but both are good.

I have to credit the TV show Wisconsin Foodie for this one as this was one of the locations that…read morewas visited during one of the episodes. After looking over their website, they do have a lot of the usual items you would find at a butcher shop. What potentially was very exciting is that it looked like they carried beef pizza burgers. My wife loves pizza burgers but does not eat pork. We have looked for years and never found any pizza burgers that did not contain some form of pork. As we looked around we were able to locate their pizza burgers, also approved by my wife. We bought all they had. They even had beef bacon that we picked up. They also had several tasty looking brats and breakfast sausage. I mean c'mon, we are in Wisconsin. You know the brats are going to be great. Another great place to stop at while visiting Door County.

My husband and I spent 3 weeks house-sitting near this shop and quickly fell in love with it…read more The restaurant is delicious. My husband and I shared: - Loaded Cheese Curds - French Onion Melt - Hot Honey Chicken Mac And Cheese - Strawberry Basil Lemonade Everything was fantastic. The cheese curds were the best we had while in Wisconsin. The flavor of the French Onion melt was so good. I loved the hot honey addition to the mac and cheese. We bought a ton of their cheese too and it was fantastic. They have so many other great goodies too. If I lived nearby, I would be here all the time. This is a must stop in Door County!

Wisconsin has a serious reputation for cheese, so during our visit to Door County we wanted to find…read morea place to sample some. That's how we landed at Renard's. They had a wide range of cheeses and oils out for sampling, and the staff was friendly and walked us through the different varieties. One of them had us try a cheese dip with ghost peppers, which was hands down our favorite, creamy up front with a slow burn that built after. We picked up some cheddar, a tub of that dip, and a few beers for the road. We also grabbed food from the in-store café: a grilled French onion sandwich, tomato basil soup, and cheese curds. The sandwich and soup were the standouts. The curds were fresh and squeaky. We finished with their ice cream, which held up to everything else we'd eaten. The prices were low enough that the whole stop felt like a steal. A must-visit when you're in Sturgeon Bay.
