We found new brand of hummus to try, grabbed some bananas and spontaneously decided to take how two small salads for dinner. Lived the freshness of the salads with homemade vinaigrettes. Thoroughly enjoyed walking by the rows of sunflowers that lined the parking lot and continued in the home directly perpendicular from the market. A lively August sight. They also have great bakery options including muffins, cookies, etc that look delicious. I wish I would have ordered one! In addition to coffee they have beautiful plants for sale. There is no inside seating so its more of a take and go place. They will be getting a drive through in September. Denny's Super Valu was exactly what we were looking for. The employees were helpful in directing us to certain food, and it was a pleasant experience for us too. The store is full of charm and value - and most importantly, local foods! Of course we were looking for cheese curds and Denny's Super Valu had quite the selection. Cheddar and white - and a mix, plus others with seasonings and such... and local! We already had our smoked salmon from Havegard's and the mix of Cheddar and white looked most appealing. We saw some other cruisers looking for WI cheese curds and pointed out the great varieties. We weren't the only ones looking for local cheese goodness! No indeed, as when we were back onboard the ship we found some new friends had grown up with cheese curds and were wishing they had found Denny's Super Valu as well. Yep, we DID share our cheese curds and even some of the smoked salmon. The ship's food was fabulous, but the cheese curds and smoked salmon were worthy of a scouting trip in lovely Algoma! We always check out the baking aisle - and were so tempted at the boxed whipped frosting. You all have Jello sugar free pudding that is to be cooked - and that did come home with us. The candy aisle is also a gotta check it out, and I found a special bag of black licorice for a new friend who LOVES it - and the rewards for it were beyond belief.
