Their food is fantastic. We've been going there for years when we visit the Door and I've no complaints about that. However, we have visited twice recently for carryout food. On both occasions when we came to open and eat it the food wasn't exactly what we ordered. The first time we ordered a number of cinnamon rolls and cherry rolls. When we came to eat them a while after there were cardamom rolls and cherry rolls. No cinnamon rolls. Not a huge problem but a little disappointing. Yesterday we ordered 3 Turkey Ole rolls with fresh fruit and some cinnamon rolls to go. When we opened them there was no fruit. Instead there was pasta salad which no one wanted. Nothing was awful but there seems to be some sloppiness in the food prep area that may lead to bigger issues if not addressed. read more

It's not so often that you find a Swedish bakery, so I was excited to stumble across Fika and give it a try. At 9:00am on a Sunday, the line was already out the door, so you'll want to get here early to secure your favorite pastry. I waited for a solid 45 minutes to get to the counter. The staff were super nice and definitely didn't rush anyone, and the interior had a cute, cozy vibe. Everything looked great, so it was tough to choose between the offerings. I opted for the classic cinnamon roll and the turkey, cherry, and goat cheese ole roll. The cinnamon role was enormous and a good value for the quantity. I was hoping for a warm gooey roll, but it was quite dry and sparse with both the icing and cinnamon filling. The ole roll was piping hot and had a good amount of turkey, but I felt that it was also on the bland side. A crisper, more buttery crust or some chopped nuts would have made for a nice texture contrast. A lot of items like the muffins looked very good, so I would return to try some of the other offerings during a less busy time. read more

Here are the positive things I have to say about this place. They were open, the staff were friendly, and they had a fun selection of pastries. We came here for some type of breakfast and coffee after another place we had planned on was closed. They had some kind of quiche on the menu but were out of it. So we both got a ham and cheese croissant which I think could have been really good but after they "warmed them up" they were still cold. I also had a side of "fresh fruit" that was very unripe melon and pineapple and some grapes, one that had mold. The coffee was mediocre and my husband ordered a large but received a small. Unless you're just going for a danish or muffin I would skip this place. read more

Was extremely excited to hear about the relocation expansion. Lots of interest and vehicles parked all over the road. Warning - No posted prices on nearly all items. The Swedish meatballs lunch special was one scoop of mashed potatoes and 5 tiny quarter sized meatballs for $11. Underwhelming and disappointed. I realize this place is now closed and moving locations which will be great. This place is a go to for us when we come up to Door County. Their cream cheese danishes are HUGE!! Everything we've ever had here tastes great. The cherry cheese danish, the chocolate coconut balls, the Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. All so good. Went here close to close on a Saturday and was happy that they were finally open! I've been wanting to go here for a while, but just havent been able to get there until now! I ended up getting the last cinnamon roll in the pan, which was probably the problem. They are brioche rolls, so I was assuming it would be soft and fluffy. Unfortunately, it was a little dried out on the sides and kind of crusty. Good flavor, but the texture was just off. I think I should have probably just heated it up slightly. Fika is a gem in Door County. They have delicious baked goods (the cherry white chocolate scone and the carmel pecan sticky buns are amazing) and REASONABLY priced coffee and coffee drinks. For real, some places charged almost twice for their coffee which wasn't any better than Fika's. The place is unassuming and understated, but very well managed. It is clear that thought went into the menu and the decor. This business takes understandable pride in their establishment. We are vacationing in Door County and have tried to go to new places each time, but Fika draws us back. This little unassuming gem is son the northern side of fish creek and is a fabulous place to grab scrumptious baked goodies. The GIANT cinnamon rolls are amazing. Buttery smooth, spicy, and sweet. They also have a few lunchables including a fabulous Swedish meatball plate. They are lighter than others you can get up here on the Peninsula but incredibly filling! The ligonberries they served with them were not quite as sweet as some other restaurants, but that was great! The scratch-made pickled cucumber salad and mashed potatoes were perfect matches. If you need a great continental breakfast or a filling lunch, this is your place. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Be sure to grab a latte to go.
