So many things looked good. Bummer that we experienced ANOTHER person who took umbrage with my friend's "Trust Black Women" shirt. Guy behind the counter- maybe the owner- covered in tattoos- HAD to ask my friend why we "Wouldn't trust black women" in the willfully ignorant way that racist people ask when they are just looking for a fight. My first time here as I was a tourist. Cute coffee shop with a few tables & outside options too. I had a great vanilla latte with oatmilk made with collectivo coffee. Also an everything bagel with cream cheese. Which they didn't skimp. Toasted perfectly. They were training 2 new people when I was there & it seemed to be going well. We popped in to see their lunch menu and we find a super cute coffee house with loads of gorgeous plants and lovely decor. Friendly service and delicious food- the chicken salad wrap was so good and the quiche was a treat! Loved this visit! Can't wait to come back. read more

Nice local coffee shop in downtown Sturgeon Bay. The cafe is very small , only two tables, but there are seats in a patio area and out front. Service was excellent. We had the Pumpkin Spiced Walnut Latte and Campfire Latte. They offer three size options, which I always appreciate. The coffee was smooth and rich. We also had a slice of lemon pound cake and chocolate cherry scone. Both were fresh and delicious. A very good local coffee shop. read more

This is hands down my favorite local coffee shop in all of Door County. It is always our first and last stop when we come into town. Kick constantly adds new drink and food specials, which makes our yearly visits fresh and exciting. The team is friendly, outgoing and so kind. We always feel welcome. The drinks speak for themselves...all the espresso is hand pulled and you can taste the quality. I only wish I lived closer and could visit more often! read more

Another great find! There was a dog friendly back patio that was quaint and full of fun plants (see shrimp plant). The owner was so nice and even brought my dog some water. The iced latte was delicious and the chicken wrap was a nice reprieve to the hot day. We hung out of the patio for some time and had a lovely chat with the owner. Next time we are traveling to Door County, we'll definitely stop by to get our caffeine fix in. read more

I seem to be on a coffee place travelogue lately. San Diego, Carmel, Chicago (hometown) and . . . (so you don't think I'm putting on airs) Detroit. My fave latte so far is found at Fritz's on Diversey in Chicago. Detroit has two fantastic places. So how does the Kick crew on 3rd Street in Sturgeon Bay stack up? Very, very well! I had a latte and a blueberry crumble cake. Very good! My server made sure of the order and even offered to heat the crumble cake. Nice! I didn't stay long, but it was friendly. You could tell the regulars were there for good reason. I'll give it another drop by and get more intel. There's lots of items and they all look very, very enticing. read more

I really was impressed with this place when we stumbled across them on a random Sunday. The specialty sandwich was just what I needed and very filling. Paired with some yummy tart lemonade. Its a small shop and they did their best to direct customers to stay distanced and it really was nice that they had a cute patio to eat out on. I would love to stop back. read more

While it's pretty tight in there, the staff is very friendly. Coffee is quite good and snacks-food was average. We were a little put off at the perpetual snarky, left-side political conversations going on each and every time we went in. It was baristas and customers alike. So, since it made me feel unwelcome, we stopped going there and chose another coffee shop where that sort of thing isn't going on & everyone seems to be happy and friendly. read more

I was unfortunately stuck behind a woman who needed her coffee measured, ground and brewed, so that was a bit annoying, but the coffee was worth the wait. First time here. This is a trendy coffee shop. A small storefront on one of the main roads going through downtown. there are about a dozen chairs and tables inside and a couple more outside on the walkway. There is an internet café with 2 stations. The décor is trendy with hand made pottery displayed and for sale along one wall. There is a flat screen TV tuned in to CNN. The offer a couple soups, 4 salads, a variety of cold and grilled sandwiches some wraps and specialty sandwiches. They offer a few breakfast sandwiches as well as a kid's menu. They are a coffee shop with the usual flavored coffees, teas, and smoothies. I ordered a bagel sandwich made with honey baked ham, cheddar cheese, lettuce, red onion, tomato sweet pickle, and brown mustard. The bagel I chose was an everything bagel. The sandwich was very good. I could tell the ingredients were fresh. I was impressed as they offer a gluten free bread for people with that particular food allergy. If you are in the area this is a little coffee shop worth checking out. read more

Seemed weird too because the folks behind the counter were all chatting and nobody seemed to be having a bad morning. Just unfriendly to the tourists I guess. We won't be back, sorry. This is a great place and one that you can tell cares about the local community. We stopped in each morning we stayed in Door County so I could get a decent cup of tea (loose leaf for the win!) We were glad to see that they had seating available on our weekend in town since Kick occupies a small space. The paper menu did have descriptions of the items while the overhead counter menu did not. My husband asked about the daily quiche option, and the server pointed to a counter sign that mentioned the quiches while I was over by the window trying to read the paper menu taped on the window there. I asked what the "kicked up coffee" or something like that was, which I saw on the overhead menu, and was told it was brewed coffee with a shot of espresso. The server was not overly friendly and personable. We ordered two of the ham and cheese quiches. which also had tomatoes and rosemary in it, I think. They were surprisingly pizza-like but pretty good. We also shared a cinnamon roll (also pretty good) and had one latte and one cappuccino, both of which were more milky than coffee-flavored, but we may be biased on the coffee drinks as I think we may be moving away from enjoying milk-based drinks. It would have been refreshing if the server was more friendly and also helpful about the menu, and noticing the 4% automatic credit card surcharge sign after we paid and were eating kept the experience at the so-so level. read more

What a cute little respite from the busy street. We came in for coffee and sandwich, not our typical combination, but lovely all the same. The Colectivo coffee was wonderful, I had a latte, spouse had a mocha. Blunderbuss sandwich with cherry jam and a flavorful cream cheese was excellent, flavors blended beautifully. My children grew up and went to college as I watched the girl behind the counter get ready to make the fruit smoothie. Alongside my fellow line-waiters, we watched in silence as she ever so carefully lopped off the leaves of each strawberry, carefully taking each discarded top and dropping it into the bin. I worried that my hair might be reaching an unattractive length. Why had I come here? The girl went to the fridge to retrieve the yogurt, and then to close the refrigerator door. I decided it might be a good time to visit the ladies' room. When I returned I found that I hadn't missed a thing: the strawberries were still being puréed, and the yogurt was being ever so gently returned to the fridge. As more people came into the store, animal species went extinct, and the blender was carefully washed and wiped. Eventually, my turn came, and I decided to order cappuccino. It was too hot, and alas I had grown too old to enjoy it. Pass. read more

What a cute little coffee shop! It reminded me of some of the independent cafes around Chicago. It's fairly small inside, but there is seating for (I'd guess) 12 or so people. It's very clean and simple. There are a couple tables out front, and I think I spotted a patio with some more chairs out back. The menu is extensive. They have all the usual espresso drinks you'd expect to find at a good coffee shop. They also have an assortment of breakfast and lunch type sandwiches, and some pastries, bagels, etc in a case. I ordered a Greek omelet breakfast sandwich (on a bagel--you get a choice). Very creative idea! It was kind of juicy, which caused the bottom bagel to get a bit soggy, but that's not a big deal. It was tasty! I got a "Kick medium" coffee and it was very good. Definitely better than Starbucks! There was only one girl working, but she did a good job of keeping up even when it started to get a little busy (there was only one person there when I arrived). She was very nice and efficient. Prices seemed OK to me, but might be considered high to the locals. I suspect this place might cater to tourists (some other Chicagoans arrived while I was eating). And even though I'm originally from the area, I think I've lived away long enough to be considered a tourist up there. Oh well! read more

I've been here a couple of times and almost every time I've been disappointed. The amount of time that food and certain beverages take is just crazy to me. I've had it take anywhere from 10-25 mins. Today we came in for a breakfast sandwich and it took 10 mins which is the amount of time it takes to get a meal at a sit down restaurant. It wasn't busy at all. On top of that the order was wrong. I waited for an iced tea for 15-20 mins one time. I tried multiple times and won't be coming back. read more

I am a big fan of the Alterra Coffee they serve. I've had a lot of lattes and frappes and they are all great. They have some really good baked goods available as well. I like their muffins and zucchini walnut bread. In addition, they have soup and sandwiches but I haven't tried either of those yet.
