an english muffin and potatoes on a plate

We recently moved into the Oakdale area and were looking for a diner to have breakfast at on the weekend. The Diner is right down the hill from us and it is everything we were looking for! The staff was so nice and friendly to us and were so quick with everything. The Diner has the old school diner vibe, which I loved. The food was delicious for breakfast and the price was super reasonable. We are so excited to come back for lunch or dinner to try out the rest of the menu!

Yummy, made from scratch creamy potato soup. So flavorful!

Surprised how delicious the prime rib was, with a tasty beefy jus for dipping. We asked and they had fresh grated horseradish. With scratch made mashed potatoes and gravy and we ordered green beans side. Perfect to split with my guy, so we had enough room to start with the creamy potato soup and finish with a hot tart and sweet cherry pie slice with cold ice cream on top. Great service, comfy booths, each seat by a window.

I ordered breakfast or I should say I wanted breakfast but it was over. Luckily the breakfast chef agreed to make one more meal and my belly was very satisfied with the Whomping Hungry man. I got cakes, giant sausage, bacon and delicious hand cut potatoes. Also 2 eggs and toast to compliment the coffee. I totally loved this meal.

I've truly rarely ever had such great service as we did at The Diner. Thank you, thank you!! The options are wide on the menu, too, whether you want breakfast or lunch! And the food was scrumptious and portions pretty large. However, this building is in serious need of both cleaning and repair. Dusty windowsills, crumbling walls, dirty restrooms... it needs some work.

After biking along the Panhandle Trail, this is the perfect place to stop for breakfast. My boyfriend and I have been here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts. He got the Italian scramble both times with a side of marinara sauce. The first time I got the breakfast sandwich and the second time I got the veggie omelet + add bacon. The omelet was better than the sandwich so I would go for that if you are deciding between the two. I look forward to continuing trying new things there. The servers work hard and the place is usually busy but we haven't had to wait in line yet to be seated. The desserts and ice cream flavors are also enticing but I have yet to try. Give this place a chance if you want to experience what I call a genuine and authentic diner.

Just your typical diner in a small town. They have very quick service which I love but the quality of food wasn't anything special. They do have a pretty big menu and I do like how they serve breakfast pretty late in the day. The portions are big too. Almost everyone in the restaurant was taking home a to-go box. It's definitely a good place to go if you're looking for greasy food for cheap but I wouldn't suggest coming here for a nice date or anything.

Huge meat lovers omelette. Eggs were super fluffy.

A classic diner experience. Wanted to try a different spot today. Had the meat lovers omelette and it was packed with ham, bacon, and sausage. It was delicious!! Couldn't finish it all. They serve Mancini's bread which is a plus. They also have great looking pies and donuts in their case. Our waitress was a little rough but in a diner type of way; she made me chuckle. She had no problem giving the cook a hard time when something was missing. Lol. The owner came around to each booth to see how everything was. Thought that was nice. They have an open kitchen too. We will be back.

My husband and I ate one lunch here. The indoor and outdoor seating provided pretty views of the surrounding trees. We ordered and paid at a counter and took a number to our table. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Roasted Red Pepper Soup & Tomato Bisque - 4.5 stars - This soup of the day tasted spicy and good, and it came with nicely crispy bread. Rainbow Garden Salad - 5 stars - This salad was a good size, and it contained delicious organic mixed greens, sumac carrots, quinoa, red cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, beets, feta cheese, and lemon vinaigrette. Chicken Salad Sandwich - 4.5 stars - A Mediterra croissant was stuffed with chunks of chicken breast, almonds, cranberries, mayo, and greens. It did not look the prettiest, but it tasted pretty good. On the side were chips. Dark Chocolate Mint Tea - 4.5 stars - This tea was from Cherry Valley Organics, and I tasted some chocolate and mint. The total price was $44 plus tax and tip.
