We recently moved into the Oakdale area and were looking for a diner to have breakfast at on the weekend. The Diner is right down the hill from us and it is everything we were looking for! The staff was so nice and friendly to us and were so quick with everything. The Diner has the old school diner vibe, which I loved. The food was delicious for breakfast and the price was super reasonable. We are so excited to come back for lunch or dinner to try out the rest of the menu!

Yummy, made from scratch creamy potato soup. So flavorful!

Surprised how delicious the prime rib was, with a tasty beefy jus for dipping. We asked and they had fresh grated horseradish. With scratch made mashed potatoes and gravy and we ordered green beans side. Perfect to split with my guy, so we had enough room to start with the creamy potato soup and finish with a hot tart and sweet cherry pie slice with cold ice cream on top. Great service, comfy booths, each seat by a window.

I ordered breakfast or I should say I wanted breakfast but it was over. Luckily the breakfast chef agreed to make one more meal and my belly was very satisfied with the Whomping Hungry man. I got cakes, giant sausage, bacon and delicious hand cut potatoes. Also 2 eggs and toast to compliment the coffee. I totally loved this meal.

I've truly rarely ever had such great service as we did at The Diner. Thank you, thank you!! The options are wide on the menu, too, whether you want breakfast or lunch! And the food was scrumptious and portions pretty large. However, this building is in serious need of both cleaning and repair. Dusty windowsills, crumbling walls, dirty restrooms... it needs some work.

After biking along the Panhandle Trail, this is the perfect place to stop for breakfast. My boyfriend and I have been here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts. He got the Italian scramble both times with a side of marinara sauce. The first time I got the breakfast sandwich and the second time I got the veggie omelet + add bacon. The omelet was better than the sandwich so I would go for that if you are deciding between the two. I look forward to continuing trying new things there. The servers work hard and the place is usually busy but we haven't had to wait in line yet to be seated. The desserts and ice cream flavors are also enticing but I have yet to try. Give this place a chance if you want to experience what I call a genuine and authentic diner.

Just your typical diner in a small town. They have very quick service which I love but the quality of food wasn't anything special. They do have a pretty big menu and I do like how they serve breakfast pretty late in the day. The portions are big too. Almost everyone in the restaurant was taking home a to-go box. It's definitely a good place to go if you're looking for greasy food for cheap but I wouldn't suggest coming here for a nice date or anything.

Huge meat lovers omelette. Eggs were super fluffy.

A classic diner experience. Wanted to try a different spot today. Had the meat lovers omelette and it was packed with ham, bacon, and sausage. It was delicious!! Couldn't finish it all. They serve Mancini's bread which is a plus. They also have great looking pies and donuts in their case. Our waitress was a little rough but in a diner type of way; she made me chuckle. She had no problem giving the cook a hard time when something was missing. Lol. The owner came around to each booth to see how everything was. Thought that was nice. They have an open kitchen too. We will be back.

Please see my attached photos for the menu in July 2025. Customers may either dine in or get takeout. My husband and I sat at an indoor table of our choosing. An outdoor deck also had seating. Our waitress spoke very nicely with us. We had a bit of a wait for our foods, but it was a busy weekend morning. I ate the Mama Evans' Blueberry-Bacon Pancakes. Three pancakes contained both blueberries and bacon pieces and tasted both sweet and savory. I personally prefer blueberry pancakes and a side of bacon, but I appreciated trying this unique mixture. My husband ate a Ham-Cheese Omelet with sides of chunky homefries and toasted bread. He liked it. We shared a half-sized Not Your Mama's Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. The spicy gravy was balanced with the slightly sweet biscuit. My husband said, "I'm glad we got it. It has good flavor." We both drank orange juice. The total price was $43 plus a tip.

The food came quickly. The quality and quantity of food was an amazing value. I tried the Eggs N'at ($12.50) which included 2 eggs, 3 bacon strips, country potatoes, bread (I had cinnamon raisin), and a pancake. I upgraded my pancake to the monthly special - peaches and pecans. Everything was so delicious! To top it off, I enjoyed their music playlist. I wish they were closer to me in the SF Bay Area!

You instantly feel welcome. It's a small place - only about 5 tables & 6 or so bar stools. Good ole fashioned diner breakfast food - egg dishes, a few bowl bfasts, pancakes, french toast, and a popular breakfast sandwich. My husband got the latter w/ sausage, egg, & thick American cheese on Mancini's bread - and enjoyed it. I got the "Home Fries Supreme" bowl with over easy eggs. It was good - not great - with a ton of potatoes, thick American cheese, grilled onion, and a lot of crumbled bacon. My sis-in-law got french toast and said it was good - but her usual order of pancakes and scrambled eggs is better. You can modify your order however you like, it seems. The wait staff is so friendly. We really enjoyed ourselves. The cook even popped out to take care of 2 of his favorite regulars who won't pass by, apparently, without their bacon (see the pic). We'll definitely be back, though probably when it's warmer --- cuz yowza is it cold when the door opens for people entering/exiting. This place could really use one of those exterior tent-door things that pop onto the outside of the door!
