This is an awesome Mexican restaurant. The food tastes great! Love the chips and salsa! Our server was outstanding and had a great sense of humor. Everything was timely. Love the model train as it ambles overhead! It's been a part of the dining experience I think as long as the restaurant has been in the old train depot building. If Mary is there, tell her "hi". We've been going to the Depot for many years and never been disappointed. Now that we don't live in Riverton, we make a point to eat there when we visit. Congratulations on your BOB award! read more

Yikes. Not very good in my opinion. I ordered chilli relleno and a taco. The chili relleno was the worst I've ever seen. It was completely flat like a pancake, actually thinner than a pancake. Maybe 4" completely flat. It looks like they just took a small piece of a green chili and battered it. They obviously have NO idea how to make it. It was a joke. The beans and rice were OK. However, the rice had a very strong clove type taste to it. The taco was OK nothing special. Definitely will not be going back to this place. Service was good. People were nice. Ambiance was good they have a toy train running around over your heads. Debating if they should get 2 stars. read more

Fast service. Decent food. Seems to be a popular place for Mexican food. My fiend ordered the carne asada burrito and loved it, but didn't like the refried beans. I had the taco salad. While I prefer grilled chicken in my salad, the "boiled" chicken wasn't terrible. read more

I went with friends, qe each ordered something different. I ordered the chimmies for an appetizer to share, the half order came with 3, perfect for 3 of us, it came with sour cream and guacamole, very tasty, the meals we a good portion, we each got the half order and it was so much all of us took some home, the place was very busy, so the drinks and service took awhile, but the food was so good, you forgot about the slow service, get here early, the margaritas were good, chips and salsa were set down when you wete first seated, i definitely will be back. read more

I've eaten here three times in three years. I had fajitas and thought they were pretty good. My wife paid $8 for a tortilla with cheese thrown in it. Their green chili is more salty than anything and overpriced. My last waitress didn't like the look of us or something. She seemed absolutely put off to wait on us. I think that's how my wife ended up with a tortilla with cheese thrown in it. For Riverton I feel like one could do worse. Hence three stars. read more

The Depot was actually a historic station turned restaurant hence the name which is quite cute and cozy with delicious Tex mex innovations and interesting long tables for many guests. It's nestled centrally in podunk Riverton which is surrounded by signs a dying small town. The menu has a lot of different enticing entrees to offer. The staff was attentive despite being very busy and did a great job accommodating requests. . The food did take a bit getting to our table but we gratefully were happy in our patience to gobble it down once it arrived. Everything came out hot , correct and absolutely delicious!....Good Tex Mex in the middle of barren-ass Wyoming even !! Patience is a virtue people, especially when the place is full. The service here is THE WORSE! I have tried on multiple occasions to call in an order for pick up and every time I do I get out on these ridiculous long periods of hold. Bland tasteless food. No value for the price paid. It has been impossible to find actual decent Mexican food in Wyoming. I guess that sort of makes sense. This Tex-Mex restaurant is designed like a railroad dining car. There was a model train above running in a circle above. The atmosphere was pleasant. There were only 5 customers including me this Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is located in the middle of downtown Riverton, Wyoming. The service was friendly. The waiter brought chips and salsa to our table. The made from scratch salsa was very spicy. I ordered the Chicken Verde enchilada. It was a single plate with a big enchilada surrounded by cheese sprinkled with black olives and red onions. There were 2 small servings of rice and refried beans on the plate as well. The rice and refried beans were unimpressive. The enchilada was very good. This is an excellent restaurant if staying over in Riverton! read more

This was probably the worst customer experience I have had at any restaurant. We went of Friday night and arrived at 8pm. They close at 9pm. We had a party of 9, which we knew was large. However the moment the hostess saw us and found how how many people were in our group she had a terrible attitude. First she told us it would take 30m to get a table, which we were ok with. Then she followed up with the fact that at that point it will be 8:30 and they will be 30m from closing therefore they would be unable to serve us. Then we offered to split our group into 2 smaller tables, making it easier to get us seated. She then proceeds to tell us that the servers don't like to do that and would have to talk to them before doing that. There was not a single person that worked there that acted like they wanted to make some money or to help us. We quickly left their and will NOT be back. I would recommend staying away from this place as they definitely do not care about their customers. read more

I have gone to the Depot four times, why it take four times, I guess I was hoping it would get better. But it didn't! First time there was a fly in my husband drink. We just said it was because he was outside dinning. 2nd time our food was cold. We thought maybe because they where busy. 3rd time, we when for my birthday. We where sited way in the back room. Thought maybe because I have a service dog. Then we ordered, get our drinks. Thought maybe this would be good. BUT no, we waited for a hour for our food. It was burnt and dry. Yes we asked every time we seen our waitress, which wasn't to often. Even ask a manager. Always told it is on it way to us. It was not busy that night. Get there at 5 left at almost 7. Four time was my Granddaughters when in. Ordered, waited 45 minutes. Was wrong order and burnt, when she said something was told they would not take it back and get right order. Then told them if they DID NOT pay, the cops would be called and they would be put in jail!!!!! So the paid and left. How many college kids have they done this to???? Will never go back!!!! Was it all because of my service dog and because my granddaughters are gay and black, I have ask myself. If I had my way wouldn't have the place a star. read more

One of the more "upscale" restaurants in town. The ingredient quality seemed good. The salsa was above average -- better than the main dish. Overall, it feels like a very Americanized version of Tex-Mex food. Don't come here expecting authentic Mexican food. I had beef fajitas. It was dry and boring. The sauteed / grilled vegetables were better than the meat. The staff were busy and did make an effort to serve me in an efficient way, but overall the concept of customer service was not strong here. Price is high for what you get. Come here more for the ambiance than the food as it is one of the more premier places in town. read more

The margaritas are yummy, but is it hard to mess up a margarita? They have good food, but it's nothing outstanding. My husband doesn't like Mexican food, but loves this place. Always good food and friendly service. You really can't go wrong here. I really like the Enchaladas De Mariscos, nice cheesy white sauce with some tasty seafood mixed in. If you're not a seafood fan, the chili verde enchiladas are equally delicious with the same (or similar) white sauce. We just ate there after reading all the reviews, which were mostly accurate. I ordered a combo plate with a tamale and chili rellano. The tamale was good, not particularly The rellano was not that great. The beans and rice were perfect. My companion had a chicken taco salad and loved it. Service was fine. Loved the atmosphere. Nice ambiance, great Margaritas. Had lunch there while traveling to Wyoming for the Eclipse. Good food, my chili verde chimichanga was very good, but my husband's fajita salad was just okay. Servers were polite but service was very slow that day. Server said it was because of a large group that came in before us, but I think they were under staffed considering the additional traffic in town that weekend. Outdoor seating is an option and the decor is fun with a little train going around on overhead tracks. read more

We have gone to this restaurant for years as have our friends that we were lunching with on Feb. 27 around noon. Our table was right under the huge painting in the front dining room. Our waitress was great, even remembered to give us separate tickets and our food was fantastic. The restaurant was NOT busy by any means...our waitress always had at least one table open in her section. Now, to address the waitress we had....ma'am, I know we were at our table double the amount of time we should have been....I'M A WAITRESS TOO, SO I KNOW HOW UPSETTING IT CAN BE FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE UP A TABLE FOR A LONG TIME....but the fact is, you HAD open tables. We weren't taking up necessary space! We had given you a tip, but had decided to leave you an extra $20 in thanks but WHEN YOU CAME OVER AND NASTILY SNATCHED UP OUR UTENSILS, WATER GLASSES, ETC ETC FROM UNDER OUR NOSES WHEN WE WERE STILL DRINKING OUT OF THEM, we decided not to. I had the taco plate. Three shredded beef tacos on corn tortillas with black beans and rice. The corn tortillas were cold, dry and brittle. The meat was tough, dry, and very stringy with no seasoning. The beans and rice were pretty good. Table service was good.
