Waitress was rude, short, never came around for coffee refills until she brought out my $10.50 overpriced veggie omelete with no potatoes included and I still had to ask her! Omelete was kind of small and square shaped compared to what I'm used to at other restaurants. Like the Marathon truck stop, staff caters to locals, kisses their asses and pretends the "tourists" don't exist. Old, dated interior in a storefront entrance on the side of a buoldjng were no parking is allowed in front. Very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. They don't want your business unless they know you and you're a Jamestown lifer, they'll NEVER get mine ever again! You have been warned to stay away, she got a $1 tip! read more

Great good and service. Nice place to eat , staff was excellent. Had fried eggs, one came broken. The cook made another one , I hadn't even complained, no charge for it they just wanted to make it good!!! Son had tuna sandwich, ate it all, would definitely go back. read more

Driving from Alaska and passing through. Very VERY road-weary. Been on the road for 7 days straight by the time we got to this place for a late breakfast. If I rated on food alone I would give 5 stars. That said, we ordered the Depot Breakfast Bowl and it was amazing! We ordered it with pepperjack cheese and bacon, don't forget to ask for gravy, even though it says it comes with it apparently it doesn't. It seems odd to have the eggs and cheese and still top it with gravy but you won't regret it. Now as far as the service the server wasn't very nice and I'll leave it at that. We wound our way all through town from the freeway for some lunch. If you are looking for a slice of meat on white bread (sourdough really?), this is your place! Or how about a bowl of soup (not a cup) less than an 8 oz measuring won't be filling you up. (Still wondering what a cup of soup looks like). And don't ask for water. Stopped here on our way to Spokane to eat breakfast. Off the interstate a bit but worth the drive. Food was very good and service was great.

Clean restaurant with good food. The omelet was very good and the price is reasonable. A little off the beaten path downtown but well worth the time to find it, across the street from the civic center. Service was good although not very attentive to coffee refills or follow-up to make sure the orders are correct. Overall a good place to eat, refreshing to find a local restaurant that is not a national chain that is doing well. read more

Stopped by for lunch. Typical diner menu, no surprises which is nice. Ended up having the soup and salad bar. Basic salad bar with lettuce and spinach, toppings and other salads (potato, cole slaw, broccoli, pasta). The soup today is vegetable beef. It was as good as one would expect from a local diner. Long story short had the worse waitress ever. walked in sat our self down 10 minutes later our so called waitress comes to the table with no menus no water and says know what you want to order? I said we didnt even have time to look yet, she huffs and turns around starts walking away at same time i am saying can we get something to drink she cared less to even listen or turn around. another ten minutes later some other waitress comes by and finally gives us water and a menu walks away and between the both of them they never came back at all? another 15 minutes went by I said enough of this and we walked out. I had the country fried steak sliders and my husband had the Conductors special. Both meals were very good. we clean both plates the servers always checked on us and refilled the coffees. A little ways off I94, we found this local cafe. Excellent, home style food. We only had grilled sandwiches and fries, but very good and very filling. Shared a piece of apple pie afterwards. Delicious. We stopped around 4pm so it was not busy, only one front end person plus the cook. Front end person was very friendly and helped with suggestions- they have a homemade chili, but we decided not to this time. Also several pies and cakes and many flavors of ice cream. We would definitely recommend this for a stop for travelers who want to experience local flavor. read more

Adjusted review from 1-star to 4-stars. Original: We are locals, who have had brunch at this restaurant, many times. The quality and amount of food that you get is a great value, and has always tasted good. The service is good, as well. The reason for the low review: My wife found a hair in her food, one time... well, sometimes things happen. It can be overlooked. On another visit, she found a hair in her food, again, and tells me that there's a problem. A really gross problem. Upon getting over the fact that she found hair in her food on two separate occasions, we decided to give them another chance. On that very next visit, I found a thick, dark hair in my omelette. That was the last time we will ever eat here. read more

I used to come to the depot nearly every week, at the very least to grab some food to go. Today I ordered my burgers, sat for half an hour while the servers who were off the clock bragged vocally about their tips, only to hear voices from the kitchen saying my food hadn't even been started. 20 minutes later when the voices from the kitchen announced to my server that my food was ready, she continued to chit chat and another server had to go get me my food. I love the food at the depot, but the service is very unprofessional. And I think from now on I'm going to get my lunches somewhere else. Breakfast food was good here. I had eggs, sausage and English muffin, and it was all fine, and pretty cheap. I took off a star because I discovered a piece of paper floating in my coffee, which is a little troubling. But still recommended, especially, since there's not much other choice. read more

The employee was rude and said he couldn't change the channel when clearly no one was watching the filth of Right Wing Propaganda, Fox Opinion Channel. Yes, he could have easily, there is no rule ever that said if no one is super engaged in the station currently that the employee or management can't turn it to something else. Local news or The Weather Channel would be a great alternative to biased "news" stations for both sides of the political spectrum. Fox for the Right, and used to be MSNBC for the Left (even though it's still clearly Corporate Media, meaning they don't just tailor to the Left but to the money, as Fox does with the Right and fake/biased shows). Other Corporate news stations are also biased and may copy Fox's fake news stories. Therefore and point being, he did not have to scuff that he could not change the channel, and more business would be made of this cafe if local news or Weather was on instead as ours more appealing to larger customer base and doesn't bias either way politically. Trailer to your customers and potential customers, not what you "can" or "can't" do for no reason this explained. Thank you. Also, stopped in for lunch, Channel still in and took over half hour or more just to get a server, not too mention the food wait itself; that's unacceptable service! read more

The kid strawberry pancakes are a hit with our kids. They have an excellent rubin. This is a bit of a diamond in the rough for Jamestown.

I was a little leery of the Depot when I walked in. The decor did not make me think I would have a great meal. We went to eat there almost by mistake on a Sunday morning closer to noon. They had a delightful menu with plenty to choose from for both breakfast and lunch. I chose the two eggs, sausage, and toast, which would have been plenty. But, I added the hash browns and am I glad I did.. They were a little crispy just like I love them. It was more than enough to eat. The others in our party were pleased as well. It's not "fine" dining, but it is good reasonably priced food. read more

This has been worse experience. I ordered meat pot pie and was rudely told they discontinued. Then got Fleischkeuchla and it arrived slowly and very overcooked. Delicate crust was more like stone. I couldn't cut with steak knife or chew. I complained and supervisor told me cook said to charge full price. Horrible horrible people. read more
