My wife and I came in tonight for our 42nd anniversary dinner. She had the Riverside walleye, and I have salmon Oscar. Food was fantastic, and the service was even better. Our waitress was by far, one of the best waitresses we've ever had. Friendly, courteous, and made us feel welcomed and very comfortable. We chatted a bit with her while we were ordering, and she mentioned that she was 18 years old. I don't remember her name, but this young lady should definitely be nominated for Jamestown Customer Service Award. Passing through headed back to Idaho stopped here to try it out. Server was Bri. She was spot on with her service. First started with some bread and can't say anything bad about it. Delicious. Ordered the cheese curd while I waited for my dinner. They were also delicious. I try to not over do it while waiting on my dinner but caught my self going back and forth on the bread and curds. For my dinner I ordered Brave heart ribeye with mushroom port and creamy spinach. The steak was spot on wish there was more mushroom port on it. Little skimpy on that for the extra cost. The creamy spinach was good just needed some salt and little pepper. The plating was off looked little bare. Would have been better to put the steak in the middle of plate then off to the side. I still gave it 5stars. The things I brought up where just my preferences some people would probably hate it if they added salt and pepper to their creamy spinach and some people would've been OK with the amount of mushroom port so I don't deduct anything from any of that because the food was amazing and everybody's preferences are different. The environment was pretty cool inside of the old building. I know some reviews say the price with a little high. We stopped in driving from Aberdeen to Bismarck and felt like we found a little slice of foodie heaven! The decor is very inviting and the service incredible. But the food is what was what really sets this place apart from most! 2 of us had the Prime Rib which was very flavorful and done perfectly. The Ribeye was also cooked to perfection and it melted in your mouth. We will be back next time was are around that area for sure! read more

I keep coming back hoping this place will be like it used to be, and every time I leave disappointed. The only bright spot is sitting at the bar the bartenders are the only ones who seem to care and actually do their job. Everywhere else in the restaurant? Forget it. If you're not at the bar, service is basically nonexistent. Even when the place is nearly empty, no one checks on you, getting water feels like a chore for the staff, and trying to place a food order takes way longer than it should. It's frustrating and honestly makes you feel ignored. The food doesn't help their case either it's gone seriously downhill. The last time I went after a graduation, which should've been a great experience, they didn't even have steaks available. At a restaurant that brags about their steaks. That pretty much says it all. Super impressed with the changes that have been made since the last time that I was in about a year and a half ago . I love the new staff they're all so attentive and their new uniforms look great . They also have New Management which is great she fits right in apparently she also manages the big banquet room they have in the back of the restaurant . This is an awesome pet friendly restaurant. The outside seating was perfect. And had a wonderful breeze after a hot day. We travel with our dog. It is so nice to find an elegant lovely restaurant that allows pets on its patio. Now the food. Oh yes. We came on a Friday and had their prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes. Their queen cut is big. The steak salad was out of this world. Also, the staff. Amazing. So accommodating even when slammed. Thank you Zach. Note: these are US sized portions. Nothing stood out about this place. The food, the service, and atmosphere was just mediocre.

The Emergency manager in Jamestown recommended this restaurant and I'm glad he did. Buffalo Grill has that old western charm, when you walk in the door you are taken back in time as you see this gorgeous bar, it just draws you in and makes you want to belly up to the bar, and so we did. The bar tender was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Because it was lunch as still on the clock, we had to pass on the alcohol, for now. I order the special of the day, Cajun crusted walleye, sandwich with fries. It was delicious!!! The crust had just the right amount of kick and the walleye was sweet and tender. Made reservations for 2 on a Sat. for dinner to celebrate a student graduation commencement. Buckhead Denver steak with roasted mashed potatoes + asparagus was terrific, as was the spaghetti & meatballs. Cheesecake dessert was excellent. Great atmosphere, in a historic brick building with lots of character. Parking and location in downtown Jamestown is convenient and adjacent to an arts park across the street. Service was extremely friendly and courteous. Short wait time for food to arrive. The only thing worth mentioning that seemed curious was after ~ 55 min., we were told that the next reservation for our table had arrived and they were waiting at the bar, so we were asked to go at that time. Although we were finished with our meal and just talking, this was the first time I had experienced this request. I was ok with it since we were done, but I can see some patrons not liking this time limit, especially since I was not aware that we had limited time for our reservation. The ambiance was good. The dining room is beautiful. Unfortunately, the visit was one we won't return again for. I ordered a hamburger (medium) that came well-done with a bun that was so toasted it drew blood in my mouth. I ordered a diet soda with lemon and my companion ordered flavored tea (no lemon). When she took our glasses to get refills, my friends tea had my lemon in it and my diet soda had none. We asked the server to correct it and she ran away saying it was not mixed up. "I promise" was said as she QUICKLY walked away. We asked another server to help and he replaced our drinks. I asked for a new bun but ended up eating it without because he didn't show up with one for almost 20 minutes... by that time, I'd eaten my already cooked, dried out to perfection and overcooked hamburger. I'm sorry y'all that I don't have a picture of the Salmon Oscar I just had, but it was SO good! I sat at the bar because it was my first time and I wanted some people to talk to, and it was nice. The restaurant itself is a great size for casual fine dining in Jamestown, and the bar was spacious, and was really comfortable to be able to get an entrée, soup, and a salad. They have half priced beer on Tuesdays, and although I did not partake, I did have a wonderfully made in Manhattan from Tayler. She was pleasant to chat with between courses, and gave me some great history on the bar, as well as Jamestown itself. Usually, I am just passing through Jamestown to get gas, but I am so glad I stopped for dinner and I will definitely be back. She said that Tuesdays they typically offer prime rib, and only on Tuesdays, so if you are considering checking this place out, I think Tuesday might be the ticket because that is the day I am going to try to come next time so I can get myself some! read more

The cheese was a dollar extra on the burger. The toppings were also an extra charges, ordering lettuce and tomatoes and onion would cost an extra $1.25. For Jamestown, this is one of the higher end restaurants in town. They have a good drink selection and their steaks are were perfectly prepared. We had a large party and the service was good, with enough attention paid to our party. My only gripe was the loud music coming out of the kitchen. Since we were seated near the back, it was somewhat distracting and unnecessary. If you are looking for a more "upscale" place in Jamestown this is it. read more

One star is one to many. I can't tell you how it tastes bc we didn't get any service.we stood at the front desk for about 10 minutes before being seated, We sat there for about 20 minutes with no one coming to give water or anything. I called the manager over to bring water. He said he would get Kennedy, 5 minutes later still no waiter or water. There were 3 tables with people in the entire restaurant. There is no humanly way possible the manager has ever managed more than his bedroom at his parents house and the two servers probably never had a job before. They pre-bussed a table, brought their checks, took their cards, and gave their receipt back before coming to our table. My wife and I served tables for several years and always patient bc we know the struggle but this was basic serving 101 failure at all levels. We came to the truck stop. 8 active tables and 2 servers (same as this place) and received coffee and water within minutes. And these cheese curbs are super tasty. read more

We had lunch here today. It was a little slow in getting our food but well worth the wait. I can't remember what the sandwich was called but it was a 1/3rd pound burger with pulled pork, cheese and it was wonderful. It is too bad I live 1378 miles from here. I would like to try several other offerings on the menu but tomorrow we leave in our motorhome going west. As we travel I often ask, "If you have only one place to eat in your town where would you eat?" I have often found some pretty good lunches and dinners following the answers to that question. Our campground host recommended the Buffalo Grill and I am glad she did! That sandwich was just a unique mix of flavors. I'm wondering if I could duplicate it at home. 3 siblings met here for an early supper to celebrate a birthday. The rack of ribs was REALLY a full rack; the filet mignon was as tender as it should be. The walleye was a bit overcooked, but still good. Service from Aiden was friendly and attentive but not obsequious. Birthday boy's after-dinner cognac was comped as a celebratory gesture. Went here for an early dinner with a co worker, as others have said here, you go in and you wait at the podium. After 3-4 minutes someone comes up and says hello. We are seated near the bar, we get water and then we get ignored for about 15 minutes. Instead of being able to relax over a glass of wine or a cocktail, we ended up ordering drinks and our meal at the same time. Please note, it was not busy, there were four people working that I could see and five tables - 2 with 2 people and 3 four tops. When we got our food, it was good. The steaks were done appropriately and consistent with our order, we didn't have to wait long for our food but we did for the bill. Inside the restaurant looks great and as long as you aren't in a hurry I would recommend it, but it was really frustrating to see staff talking to each other and disappearing in the back while we just wanted to have a drink and relax. read more
