Babb's in Fargo is one of my all time favorite coffee shops, so why would I not love the original location in Jamestown?! The vibes here are so awesome. It's very indie, calm, and the perfect place to hang out. The coffee is most wonderful and you can't go wrong with a pastry. I do feel I need to comment on the bubble tea I had here. It's always risky trying boba at a place that doesn't specialize in it, but I decided to try it anyways. And I'm still regretting that and disgusted. The "tapioca" boba is NOT boba. I don't know what it is but it's an absolute disgrace. It's chunky and horrible and I don't even want to think about it again. Please, just do yourself a solid and don't get that. Babb's has truly amazing coffee and there are so many other options that are phenomenal. I love their breakfast quesadilla too if you wanted real substance food. They win at the coffee shop experience (just not the boba.. you can't win them all). read more

I feel like I'm tossing out 5s left and right and I really try to not do so many so they mean something but I really loved this spot! First off, I grew up in Tacoma, WA, and seeing a Seattle themed cafe in North Dakota was just soooo cool!!! Like omg my home! Someone themed a spot after my home! So it has adorable decoration and Seattle memorabilia all over the place and I already loved it for that. Second, the chai was great. Now, I should knock off a star cause the quiche was only okay - but the CHOCOLATE CHIP SCONE HEATED UP should be 6 stars so we're going to average that one out. Get the chocolate chip scone. Get it. Just get it. Like, am I going to have to go all the way back to North Dakota from NYC for this damn scone? Service was great, too. read more

Made a quick stop here. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I got the green lake bagel and it was delicious. Bonus points for them making it fast as well. I didn't order coffee but my mom liked her almond milk latte. Definitely recommend if you're in the area! I'm from Seattle so it was fun seeing Seattle themed menu/cafe! read more

We were driving through Jamestown to get to our destination and I was super hungry, and wanted something local and quick. Babb's is local but a part of a shop located in Seattle, so there is a lot of photos and other things to show that. The menu had drinks, sandwiches and delicious desserts. I went with the quesadilla that had bbq pulled pork. Somehow it took 15+ minutes to make. The guy making it was literally putting down cheese one shredded piece at a time and seemed challenged to make a quesadilla. It tasted pretty good but was soggy and a complete mess. Probably too much meat. I also got macaroons and a piece of banana bread. DELICIOUS. I recommend for baked goods, maybe a local sammie, or a coffee. However, I recommend Plantation Coffee Bar over this place for coffee (uses a local roastery). Overall 3 stars for slow service and average food. The atmosphere was cozy and you could meet up with friends pretty privately. The staff were friendly. read more

Babb's is our favorite every time we visit Jamestown. The coffee selections are handcrafted and very good and their menu including paninis and the amazing pulled pork quesadillas are out of this world. If I had one bone to pick, its not food related. They need to get some better ventilation to make it a bit less smoky inside ;) read more

I have stopped at Babbs a few times over the past year while visiting relatives. I always al for coffee for 'here' and a pastry. Each time they prepare everything 'to go' which is in a paper cup and bag. Not what I want because I enjoy sitting down and drinking from a ceramic cup like others. This last time was especially strange. The server put a napkin in the paper bag w the pastry and proceeded to to staple it to the paper bag. Should I be tipping 20 percent here? You need to make people feel welcome. read more

We grabbed a couple caramel macchiato's and panini's, while passing through town. The coffees were very good. The Bellevue panini's were also very good. Both were prepared quickly. Whether you choose to dine in or take out, I recommend Babb's. read more

Very cute atmosphere. They sell little handmade goods & knickknacks and it's nice to have a look around while you're waiting. I got the pulled pork sandwich & an Americano. The sandwich was good, but the americano tasted like shitty watered down coffee from a gas station. It was basically just hot water. I have a friend who loves Babbs, so I made a point to stop in when I was in town. It's a cute space and was pretty busy when I was in there, but I got my drink quickly. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't speak to that, but I liked my chai and pastry. read more

For a college town, I had higher expectations. Coffee was hot and good. All the staff were wearing masks. There were several jars announcing that 'we love tips'. They didn't greet anyone when they came into the shop, and left us standing waiting to order even though there was nobody in line in front of us. We had to bus our own tables when we finished. We retrieved our own utensils. We ordered the spinach & cheese quiche which was salty and not heated all the way through. Underwhelmed. read more

So we are passing through the Jamestown area and thought it would be nice to find a local coffee shop for an afternoon pick me up. The first coffee shop we stopped at was closed so we headed down the road to Babb's. First impressions? It's a very cute coffee shop atmosphere. Looks like it used to be a bank. We ordered two16 oz hot vanilla oatmilk lattes, one of them half sweet. They are sneaky with their up-charges though. Didn't see a cost on the menu board for any up-charge. Our 16 oz drinks wound up costing $9 apiece, (including a 15% tip). Pretty sure that is the most we have ever paid for a 16 oz latte. But hey, it's a local shop. We like to support local businesses. We could have overlooked the cost. But then one of the baristas set two iced lattes on the counter for us instead of two hot ones. We said excuse us, but we ordered these hot. Boy did we get a dirty look for that! You would have thought we kicked her dog or something. She grabbed the drinks and stomped off with the other barista close behind. It only took a few minutes and the other barista delivered our hot drinks and he did apologize. However, I don't know what they did to them. They certainly didn't taste like you would expect a $9 latte to taste. The best I can describe it is as watered down burnt oatmeal. Not sure if they just boiled up the iced lattes and dumped it into another cup or what, but it was nasty. Unfortunately, we were five miles down the road before we tasted them. And we weren't going to turn around. But I can guarantee that we won't be patronizing Babb's again. Should have gone to caribou I guess. read more

Terrible service. The place is dirty. Prices are inaccurate!!! Watch for the menu prices and for what you are charged. They are deceitful, you don't get an itemized receipt just a total to sign. The workers are rude specifically Patrick. The bathroom needs a lot of TLC. A lot. I am surprised this place is not shut down by the health department. read more

It's been awhile since a barista asked to be sure that my coffee was perfect when she handed it to me Friendly service is just the cherry on top of a great cup of coffee for an out of towner with a pretty picky coffee palate :) If you're a fan of cappuccino, this would be my recommendation - the barista actually requested how wet or dry I would like it to be. OMG - a true dry cappuccino? Yes please! The definition of customized and customer-driven. Really a gem of a coffee shop in the Midwest! Great coffee and bakery items. I enjoyed a raspberry muffin and great halfmocha. Outside of the building doesn't give you a clue as to what lies inside. Not too crowded but there were six baristas. Each one was pleasant and busy with the steady stream of orders. Ample seating and very comfortable chairs in which to relax. Softly playing music in the background wasn't meant to get you to move on like some coffee chains. Was passing through from Calgary to Chicago and really happy to find this oasis. Especially since Caribou closed its freestanding store in Jamestown. Will try their location in Fargo as well. read more

I use to love this place, but I've stopped going since COVID because their health standards are so low. None of the employees wear masks. Stopped here on our annual westward roadtrip. Babb's has good food, fast counter service & "local" character (chain is based in Seattle but building is uniquely local to Jamestown ND). Not just premade sandwiches in the case -- also salads, soups, made-to-order sandwiches vegetarian & vegan-friendly options (hummus/sprout wrap), fabulous baked goods (try the chocolate cake layered w cheesecake), and a couple dozen varieties of refreshing fresh-brewed ice tea (try peach ambrosia). On Main St downtown in a historical former bank building complete with visible vault door. Spacious interior with tables, couches, room for kids to move around. In past years passing thru Jamestown we've eaten at Buffalo City Grill, Paradiso -- both also good, but this was much faster & will be where we stop next time. read more

A sit down place to interact with others or work on a laptop. Great coffee choices if you're into the sweet drinks. On the pricey side but support local business!
