Arrived at 1:15 for Sunday Brunch Buffet/ -items listed were not served (no grits, mashed potatoes, bagels) -had a "carving station"/ unmanned -Old shrimp and salad (not fresh) -almost 2 hours there- no items were re-filled (except stale shrimp) -desserts had absolutely NO taste -tried to sit us in a weird booth (circular, attempted to "trap" us in with a pushed in rectangular table). -bacon (trap) had loads of (un-replenished) crumbs Under the serving platter -omelette station was WEAK at best -NOT WORTH THE PRICE OR EFFORT/ looks like they are unloading old product on unsuspecting buffet seekers... boo read more

Pretty disappointed in our brunch at the Delegate. I came Sunday with some friends; we'd made a reservation but the place was pretty much empty so I'm not sure we needed it. The service was slllllooooooowwwwwwww. We had to track down our server more than once and had to ask for everything we needed. We never did get refills on our drinks. The food was pretty good though, so I'd be interested to see what this place is like for other meals. Maybe our experience was a one-off, but I don't think I'll be back since there are so many other great places in the area. read more

Tuesday I took my husband out for dinner and let me tell you as soon as I sat down there was a beautiful chocolate woman (she told me her beauty secret) who greeted me with a big bright smile . She took my order and sold me in the Cajun salmon dish . When looking at it I was turned off by the price (a little Pricey) but she kept raving about it how it was low cal and delicious so I took her up on her offer . My husband had the pork chop which he cleaned the bone . Long story short everything we had was amazing and it was all because of her (Nikki) and don't get me started on them fantastic drinks she kept shaking up ! So I've been staying at the Courtyard for 8 days and I've given the Delegate multiple chances. This is the worst hotel bar I have ever experienced. For the amount of volume they get from Conference/Hotel folks you'd expect a well oiled machine. Nope. All but one of the bartenders appeared completely lost. They had no idea how to tend bar efficiently. No waters, no greetings just odd stares and confusion. One guy didn't know where anything was. The beer taps are always jacked up. The blue moon tap was Coors Light or some other nasty shit for 3 straight nights. Two nights all the taps blew. The happy hour food is terrible. The boneless "wings" are the dryest chicken tenders imaginable. It's literally chicken breast. There are only two sliders and they are overcooked. Do yourself a favor and walk anywhere. City Taphouse, Yard House and City Brewing are within 8-9 minute walk. Get your steps in and have a better experience at a professionally run bar. read more

Came in during the week for breakfast at about 8am. The place was empty and the service was horrid. I sat there for almost 15 minutes before anyone even came by to speak to me. My scrambled eggs were wet and runny. Disappointed for this type of service at the Marriott. read more

I came back and Precious was my waitress and she just blew me away. She was consistent and checked on us multiple times she's an amazing waitress She does an excellent job bartending too. I seen her do her little tricks. And she actually talks to the customers and have a conversation with them. I really like that. I really think she should get a raise in her job. read more

We were in town for an event and this was the closest option for food. Two nights in a row the service was slow and the waiter was indifferent about providing service. The first night we thought it was a fluke but it turned out to be just the way they operate. Despite having 5 people behind the bar our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. Food was under seasoned. I tried to visit The Delegate this past weekend and even though we had a reservation were turned away due to being "completely booked". There were bar stools + tables that could have easily been turned into a table for two (to accommodate us) but they made no effort to try and problem solve. I understand their location and catering to those visiting the convention center (it was packed with the ALA attendees on Sunday), so I get having a quick turn over of tables, but if a reservation has come in that is accepted and you need to give up the table before they show up, give 'em a call to confirm they are still coming in. I'm often in the neighborhood and was excited about having additional options but may have to rethink moving forward. Or, just categorize it as a "hotel bar" and move along. read more

This place is great! Usually I don't spend much time at the restaurants inside the hotels I stay at, but this one is the exception. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. They went out of there way for me by having the chief preparer a breakfast dish for me even though it wasn't being served at that time. read more

I was a guest at the Residence Inn during a non-conference weekend. I dined at The Delegate for breakfast and lunch on 2 separate days. Devon and Trevor provided excellent service! I almost felt like I was at a fine dining restaurant. Again, this was a non-conference weekend so the hotel was not overwhelmed with guests. When I return to DC, I will come back to The Delegate just for the pancakes alone. They were perfection! I will be back. read more

Sooo ambience is nice. But the chicken and waffles is not as advertised. As per the menu, The waffle was supposed to be a jalapeño cheddar waffle. But what came out was a plain buttermilk waffle. The service was good as well. I just wish they had changed the menu or informed us of the change when we ordered. read more

Worst meal ever! Went to lunch there yesterday with a few business colleagues. Took 20 min before confused wait staff took order and 60 min to get food. Mediocre food - one colleague ordered the brunch pizza and it was not as described on menu. Hostess suggested that I find the manager to complain or leave a Yelp review. My brother and I were staying in the Courtyard Marriott and decided to try out The Delegate for the convenience of being on the first floor in the same building. I now regret not walking a few blocks to find a better restaurant. When we arrived, we were quickly seated and our waiter seemed very attentive. Things quickly went downhill from here. Our waiter seemed to disappear after taking our food order, and then no one else working in the restaurant looked our way for almost an hour. We patiently waited for our food to arrive, and I finally had to flag down a bartender to check on the food. After waiting for almost an hour, we were starving. The bartender came back to our table after checking in the kitchen and asked us what we ordered. It became very clear that the kitchen had not even begun cooking our meal, as it seemed to have been forgotten. When the food finally came out 15-20 minutes later, our orders were wrong (no chicken on the caesar salad and the wrong kind of cheese on the cheeseburger). The bartender kindly brought out a new caesar salad with chicken on it. After finishing our meals, we again had to flag someone else down to refill our waters and bring us the check. After this 2+ hour experience, for what was supposed to be a quick meal in our hotel restaurant, we were extremely disappointed. The waitstaff seems kind enough, but the lack of attention they pay to their patrons makes for a very bad dining experience. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I was tempted to leave until our server, Devon, changed my mind. The restaurant was in the lobby of a hotel and it was not the atmosphere i was wanted. Devon was incredibly attentive and friendly; this made me decide to order off the menu. We had the fried green tomatoes and chili lime shrimp for an app which were out of this world. Very surprising for the location. Our entrees we had an outstanding crab cake and couscous salads with salmon/shrimp. The food was good but the service was outstanding! read more

It's located at a beautiful location at the Marriott hotel. The service for this dining was terrible. If you are in a rush to get somewhere, I would not recommend eating here. The drinks & view are great. They also have a roof top which is beautiful. But service was terrible which made the overall experience terrible for me. This place has a lot of potential if the customer service was better & food didn't take over 45mins to over an hour to arrive. read more

I spent most of the week at the Courtyard and actually ate at this restaurant multiple times which is not normally something I do when I travel. I was more than surprised at the food. The dishes I thought were excellent, crab cake sandwich and the Thai shrimp app. Recommend those for sure. I had the crab soup which I really enjoyed. The only dishes I had which were just ok were at breakfast...the BEC sandwich and 901 breakfast....they were fine but nothing special. The service was great for the most part. The team was always very friendly, just a few hiccups with timing which I am sure is associated with this restaurant being new. Check it out if you are in town. read more

Delicious, grrreat service as in the attention we were given from the management. Delicious food--I came with a group of six for brunch with a Meetup group today and it was awesome! The French toast was delicious and so were the pancakes. Beautiful interior, nice look. Great location for me and metro-ers. I would come again and host most more meetups here. read more

At a conference, we wanted to hit the taco shop next door to "The Delegate" but the line was nuts and there was no available seating, so we came here. The waiter was excellent. Very personable and kept our drinks full. The restaurant was really loud and weirdly dark. The food was ok, but not great. I wouldn't specifically choose to eat here again. read more

The food was good, but this place really needs to work on their service. The servers were nice however, the food for the table was not brought out at the same time. Although, we had a large group, we had two people having to wait over 15 minutes for their food to come after everyone else already had theirs. Some of the servers seemed new and maybe need a bit more training. With some work, this place has potential to be really good. read more

Not ready to be open . Been waiting for this to open and tried tonight. Beautiful bar, a lot of staff. No drink menus yet and the bartender had to ask someone else what was on tap. One of those blank taps so patrons have no idea. Ordered two beers which were fine. Ordered two salads one with chicken. 40 mins later got them but instead of chicken was shrimp. Chicken came another 20 minutes later after we'd paid. Caesar and spinach salad were 95% lettuce and driest salad I've had at a sit down restaurant. Disappointed since we both live next door. I'm sure they'll work out kinks, but would advise staying away for now. read more
