    Karaoke Sundays !
    A V.

Catering, wow! We got a spread of tacos carnitas, veggie, and chicken from The Deep End for a 30-person picnic in the park, and what amazing compliments we got! I'm Mexican, so have very high standards for tacos in NYC. As a Mexican-owned restaurant, they definitely delivered! They even brought their own hot pan to help warm the tortillas. These were certainly a hit! Added a photo from one of their karaoke Sundays for fun. Also a blast and v warm, community and LGBTQ+ friendly feel. Highly recommend!

Had no idea what to expect when we wandered in here, but it was delightful. We ended up here on karaoke night and while we didn't sing, we had definitely had fun listening to everyone else. This is a pretty basic neighborhood bar, but the food was surprisingly good. My husband and I got a selection of deep fried bar bites and they were all good. We tried the Onion Rings, Chicken Fingers, and Jalapeño Poppers and enjoyed all of it. This is a small bar, and apparently pretty popular, so you may have to wait a few, but it's worth it and definitely a fun night out.

Came here during the Autumn Tippler event to try their signature cocktail, The Bad Hombre. My first time ever trying a jalapeño infused cocktail and it was delicious!!! I also ended up ordering the fried pickles to go along with my alcoholic beverage. The pickles were crunchy and juicy ( perfection). I stayed long enough to finish my drink and to order a burger to go. Only outdoor seating was available and the weather was chilly ( not quite enjoyable for me.... after all I'm a summer baby). While I waited for the burger to cook. I decided to redeem the check in offer of a free shot to warm myself up. Definitely was needed. Overall my short stay was good I believe I would have stayed longer if the weather had been nicer. Would recommend if the cool weather does not faze you.

My beer battered fish tacos. One completely upside down and the other hanging out of the box.

I ordered from delivery on Seamless so this review is reflective of that. I ordered 2 beer battered fish tacos and a side of chips and guac. Fish Tacos came with the box dented. Once taco was hanging out of the box the other one was completely flipped upside down with its contents spilled out (see pic). The tacos tasted pretty good. Comparable to Tacombi which you have to go into the city for. My only complaint was there was more batter than fish in the taco which after the way it was delivered further ruined the experience for me. Chips and guac was good. Guac is nothing super amazing on its own but it is tasty (I added cayenne and some more salt and it was poppin) and they give you a ton of chips that are fresh so definitely worth the value and I can appreciate that aspect. Overall I'm not sure I would order delivery again from here even though the food is tasty. Tacos were salvagable but I would hate to see what a burger would look like.

To the best bartender, Ariana! Awesome drinks and definitely good veggie burger with curly fries, cant wait to try this place again! Stop by and follow them @deependnyc on instagram to see their drag queen shows and other events!

First time here, I was not disappointed with ambience, service, quality of food or quality of menu. Will be back & I'm hopeful it wasn't a fluke first impression (: I got the veg burger w cheddar cheese! The buns they use are really fluffy and crunchy at the same time. Maybe brioche? And also the goat cheese balls.. (will be back especially for those) They came w a side of honey and gorrrllll its over

I don't think so, but in the area I would say there are a few gay bars around.

The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is cozy and charming. The food and drinks are consistently phenomenal. I've probably tried just about everything on the menu at this point, and not a single dish has ever disappointed. Even though I don't usually like salmon, theirs is prepared so well that I actually enjoy it. Some of my personal favorites are the birria tacos, tortilla soup, and the wet burrito. The drinks are just as impressive, with a secret sangria recipe that's always a hit. My go to is the frozen watermelon margarita, refreshing and delicious every time. As a longtime regular, I can confidently say that once you try La Casita, you'll be hooked and want to come back again and again.

We got a table just before 3 which I was very grateful for and the host staff was friendly. We were told to get our order in before 3 since they would be closing. We ordered just an order of pancakes and unfortunately they were very burnt, but we did not want to send them back/cause any inconveniences as the place was already technically closed with most tables finishing their food and the waitstaff walking around to close out tables. The inside of the pancakes were delicious but the flavor was unfortunately altered by the char on the outside. I would come back with a reservation at a better time, it was a cute spot and seemed like there were a lot of delicious options but we definitely felt the time crunch in our food quality.

Starting with the Soft Scramble Egg Tostada, scrumptious is the right word! The eggs were perfectly soft and creamy and paired with that chili sauce it had just the right amount of heat to wake everything up. The Shrimp Ceviche was clean, bright and fresh, served with thick crispy tostadas to scoop it all up. The Chamoy Watermelon though? order it, full stop! Juicy watermelon cubes coated in chamoy, chili flakes and mint. Sweet, spicy, tangy and refreshing all at once. It's one of those dishes that sounds simple but completely delivers. The Chicken Milanesa was a solid protein forward dish. Beautifully golden and crispy with a light coleslaw on top that kept it from feeling too heavy. And the Chilaquiles were loaded and satisfying, topped with crema, cotija and scallions. The Vampiro cocktail has spicy tequila, house sangrita, hibiscus and grapefruit. It had everything I look for in a drink. Bold, a little spicy and so well balanced. Couldn't have chosen better!

There is a patio outside for additional seating. It is family owned and if there is one downside is that they are a little slow. But it's so worth it. Go if you're not in hurry. We got so much food: different tacos, quesadilla, elote, horchata, salsa, chips, and guacamole. It was all good. The elote was sweet, salty, and smokey. The chips were warm, the guacamole was creamy with a hint of spice. There was three distinct salsa, one green, two red. One red was super spicy. The horchata was frothy, nicely spiced, and just a little sweet. The tacos were really good. I had the fish, birria, and the surf n turf (shrimp and steak). The fish tasted fresh. The shrimp was bouncy and the steak was flavorful. The birria taco was one of the best birria taco I've had outside of San Diego. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla. She said it was very cheesy. For dessert we had their churros. It was freshly made. The filling tasted slightly like coffee and was molten hot. The caramel dip which was very pudding-like really added to the flavor of the churros. We found our new favorite taqueria.

I walked in after an afternoon of shopping in the area and sat at a table by myself. It's not a big or fancy restaurant. Then I ordered guacamole which they made fresh at the table. I thought that was pretty cool and don't see that often anymore. The enchiladas came with a savory salsa verde sauce and side of rice and beans! Everything was cooked to perfection. The owner was also my server! She was amazing (I didn't get her name) but she made my drink and made the guac too! I look forward to treating myself again to dinner here soon.

I ordered the quesadilla, which was a bit odd for me to do as I never order a quesadilla. My thought process was that since I LOVED their burrito the last time, they must make a good quesadilla. But anyway, there I was sitting on the patio next to these fake-looking potted plants, staring at my drink and looking at Metropolitan traffic. My Red Sangria came in this tall glass with a slice of orange stuck on top, looking all fancy, and it had a bunch of chopped-up fruit floating around at the bottom that you couldn't actually reach without making a total mess, but to be fair, it wasn't half bad. It was cold and fruity and kept me from having to talk to anybody for a few minutes. Then came the "Tacos Entraña." That's skirt steak, if you're not trying to sound like you're from somewhere, somewhere, where its like common and stuff. They serve three of them on this wooden board because apparently regular plates aren't stable enough for many Mexican restaurants anymore. They were absolutely smothered in this white crema stuff, cilantro, and chopped onions. I'll admit, though, the meat actually tasted pretty damn good. It was thick, properly charred. I go into these new pop-ups expecting the whole food fusion thing to be a total fraud, and then the food actually turns out to be quite excellent and not too expensive. I had a great waiter who made the whole lunching experience feel effortless. I lefy feeling taken care of, without ever feeling like I was part of someone else's performance.

Since it was quiet on a Monday, we had our pick of tables. The atmosphere is warm and inviting--dim lighting paired with low Spanish music playing in the background. We sampled three different drinks throughout the meal, and all were excellent: White Sangria (First Place): Exceptionally refreshing and smooth--the standout drink of the night. Frozen Margarita (Second Place): Perfectly blended with a delicious, smooth, slushy consistency. Red Sangria (Third Place): Very enjoyable, though slightly outshined by the other two. It's worth noting that Klan Destino offers two distinct menus--one Mexican and one Argentinian. We ordered entirely from the Argentinian side, and the kitchen delivered on all fronts. For appetizers we ordered Burrata Klandestina which is a unique spin compared to traditional Italian burrata. It was well-executed, served alongside a fresh salad and flavorful prosciutto. Our main course was Asado Klandestino Pura Vaca - For Two. The highlight of the meal which was packed with an outstanding selection of meats. The portion was huge and we couldn't finish it all. It made for fantastic leftovers at home. For dessert, we had the Tiramisu. It was perfectly balanced. Neither the espresso nor the chocolate overwhelmed the dish, making for a light, delicious end to the meal. Klan Destino delivers great ambiance, excellent service, and great quality food. This restaurant deserves a 4.5 rating.
