They left their card and I called them. As I was beginning to ask to reschedule the man who answered the phone, Lyle Bush, hung up on me as I was speaking. The Deck Dudes stained our deck. They did a good job but I did not realize that the posts of the deck were not included in the estimate (check that in your contract!). I paid them in full for their service but inquired about the posts. They said it wasn't included and sorry I didn't realize that. Then they offered to call me and give me an estimate for how much it would cost which I said I would like (or I said they could just tell me what stain they used so we could do it). But instead of actually calling or following up to talk to me they just totally ghosted me and stopped responding at all even though I emailed a few times to follow up. I was very civil so I was surprised that they would just totally stop responding. I would say be wary if you're doing anything complicated because if anything goes wrong they are more likely to just walk away once they have their money than try to resolve the situation. They used environmentally friendly cleaner that didn't kill my grass and power washed on a low setting to prevent damage to my deck. The stain was then meticulously brushed on by hand for an even application, no rollers. Very professional and punctual. They removed and replaced some rotten boards, cleaned the deck, sanded down the areas needed and stained my deck and lattice. There were so many colors to choose from and Logan helped me narrow it down to 3 of them that would coordinate well with my house. Just like any other outside project sometimes weather does not cooperate and we had a day that the temperature dropped and rained, so it wasn't ideal for the work to continue. Once the conditions were good Logan and his team were back on my deck working. All along there was communication with me on the status of the project and gave me realistic expectations. Simply put, these guys were amazing to work with! I don't think I've ever worked with a company as dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction as Lyle and Logan. We had Deck Dudes wash our house and deck, and then stain our deck and front porch railing. They washed our shed for free (because they were paying attention and could see it needed it), even though it wasn't part of the original estimate. The house looks so clean another contractor thought that I had new windows installed! Despite a crazy rainy summer, the Deck Dudes were able to get the work done, and all along the way, Lyle and Logan really took the time to make sure we were getting what we wanted, particularly with regard to the color of the deck stain. Even after we chose a color, and as they began to apply it, they stopped work to make sure we were OK with the chosen color, which turned out to be not what we wanted. I'm so grateful for their insight and their ability to think about what my wife and I wanted; else we would have had a deck color that wasn't to our liking. Instead, they were able to offer us another option that is much more suitable to us. Logan came out for a final inspection just today and touched up any areas that needed it - I think so many other companies don't go these extra steps or just think about getting a job done and getting paid. It's more than that for these guys, and I'm grateful for it. I hope to have them wash and stain my fence this fall as well once the summer foliage dies back. I highly recommend this company. Great company with excellent services and a level of integrity rarely seen. We had used them for some power washing and were looking to see if they could salvage some old interior brick. The Deck Dudes did a great job stripping and restaining our front porch. Lyle and Logan were very easy to work with and also scheduled around some other work we were having done on the house, which was much appreciated. The work took a little longer than expected to complete, but that was because stripping the old stain was more difficult than anticipated, and Lyle and Logan didn't want the old stain to create blotches or other issues with the new stain. Saw a sign for the Deck Dudes on a neighbor's lawn. Our house needed some TLC, so I decided to call them up. Our contact (Lyle) at the company was friendly, professional, and promptly responded to our inquiry. The day of the quote, Lyle explained what our house needed, what our house didn't need (and therefore we could save money on by not doing), and the expected timeline for completion of the work. The quote was reasonable, clear, and we agreed to terms. Soon thereafter the team performed the services as described in the quote. The house looks terrific. We had the team wash the siding, and clean up the deck. The deck cleanup included a touch up re-staining that was badly needed, and the job was very nicely done. The house looks great, and we are very pleased with the results. When Lyle came out to do the estimate, he blew me away with how knowledgeable he was - he didn't just give me a quote, he helped me understand the life of our deck and gave us his honest opinion about how we could clean and re-stain it to add 3-5 more years before replacing it entirely. They did an incredible job on the cleaning, especially with our front steps and the window framing in the front and side of the house. My only downside is that they weren't always the best about communicating, but I find that across the board with contractors and I had such a good experience in person and in the work. read more

Company caused damage to our property while working on our next door neighbor's unit, then claimed that their chemicals only removed mold from our wooden steps therefore it must have been strong enough to strip the stain. The owner of the company used profanity with us, threatened to sue us for $25,000 by writing this review. We understand they offered our neighbor a discount in order to write a good review therefore I am not sure you can trust the previous reviews if this is their strategy to build good reviews. They refused to re-stain our steps and asked us to involve our insurance company/lawyers and go a legal route which would invoice our neighbors in lieu of simply send out two laborers to simply re-stain our backyard steps. They offered to charge us to clean the steps which will not bring back the stain color they stripped. NOW WE HAVE TO FILE A SMALL CLAIMS VIOLATION AGAINST THEM AND OUR NEIGHBOR FOR A SIMPLE FIX ONE OF THERE WORKERS COULD HAVE SIMPLY RETURNED TO STAIN AND FIX IN LESS THAN A DAY. In July 2018, the property manager for my condo townhome said my patio fence required staining. I left a message at The Deck Dudes website. Lyle called me later that day. We discussed the situation - he was an excellent listener and communicator - and he gave me an estimate for cleaning and staining. I accepted the estimate. The following Wednesday, I received an e-mail from Lyle, stating that my fence would be cleaned that day and stained the following week. Two workers arrived and washed the fence with a cleaning agent. The following Monday, I received a notice from the property manager, stating that the cleaned fence was satisfactory; no staining was necessary. On Tuesday morning, I e-mailed The Deck Dudes, asking them to cancel the staining. I reached Logan via phone later that day. He cancelled the staining and prorated the invoice. I found The Deck Dudes easy to work with - organized, prompt, responsive. The pricing is about average. It's not cut-rate, but neither is the service. STRONG recommend. We called them on a lark after seeing their sign in on the road. We had put in a deck last spring and were told to wait a year before we had it stained or painted. Wasn't happy with the folks who put it in so we tried them. They came out and gave us really good advice - and OPTIONS. They found and fixed some problems that we hadn't noticed (some panels weren't fully nailed in) as part of the package. They took the time to walk us through the process - and everything was as promised. The work was fantastic - I'm super happy with my deck - it's beautiful. We also used them to power-wash our house and our brick walks as well as paint and repair the doors and ceiling of our screened in porch. Logan came out to do an estimate in February and I asked him if it held for the spring. He said yes. At the end of spring I contacted him to come out to do the work via e-mail and phone call. He never even responded. I called one last time and spoke to his father, who was so kind, who told me Logan would get back to me. Logan never responded. They were extremely hard to get ahold of. I was finally able to schedule an appointment. Their quote was absurdly high but we didn't have any choice as visitors were coming to town. They promised to wash our deck furniture too but failed to do so despite our multiple requests to return and do this. I received harassing phone calls and text messages for not paying despite their failure to complete the job. They also tacked on extra fees to the bill for paying 2 days "late" even though they failed to complete the job. Do not hire them!! If I could give zero stars I would. read more

My daughter went to high school with the owners son so we were excited to support a local company, when my mom needed deck work. The onboarding went very smoothly and we were excited for next steps. Unfortunately, it was all down hill from the moment we signed the contract. My husband reached out with a few questions prior to them starting and the owner acted as if we were a huge inconvenience and how dare we call him on his cell at 6:30pm, when in fact that was the number he shared with us. You do have the option not to answer your phone. This was the first of many red flags. They subsequently sent a crew to power wash and when we returned home after they stained the deck we quickly identified many issues with the quality of work. There were visible posts that had not been painted, sloppy painting in certain areas that are clearly visible. For example, instead of moving small pebble size stones at the bottom of several support posts, they painted unevenly around them. In addition, they painted the floor boards of the small staircase to the deck, but did not stain the inside visible boards. My husband called to inquire and the owner started using profanity stating that this & that was not in the contract. My husbands entire team at work could hear the profanities being dropped as he was in shock and had to hold the phone away from his ear. In addition, he has repeatedly asked about maintenance for the deck and for the left over touch up paint. We still haven't received any correspondence addressing this customer request. They insisted that we tape a check to the glass door on the deck for which we were not comfortable doing for safety reasons and due to the lack of resolution on the unfinished, sloppy staining. We offered the option of picking up the check at my mothers house or mailing a certified check to which the owner sent a nasty gram from his attorney. The next thing we know, our ADT camera picked up the owners son pacing at the front door of our residence, not my mothers for which the job was associated with. Glad we weren't home at the time, scary. We highly recommend doing your due diligence before using this company. read more

They came promptly in the morning to begin work and were finished with the entire house, driveway, patio, and our walkways within 3 1/2 hours - an amazing feat! The sides of the house are sparkling and the driveway looks as clean as it did when it was installed 30 years ago. When he came to give us an estimate of the cost he pointed out some areas of our home that needed wood repair and suggested we not power wash those part of the home until after the repairs are done.
