For the staff, it's a family-run business and they're all incredibly nice and personable. It's easy to talk to all of them and they're more than willing to help with special requests and orders. They also offer a 10% in-store credit reward system which is simple and quite generous too! In terms of location, while it's a bit off the beaten path, it's close enough to one of the main streets in tow (and another hobby shop) to not be an issue. Parking can be cramped on busy days, but that's to be expected. As far as product goes, there's a lot! Miniatures in particular are well-represented. All Games Workshop IPs are here (some more than others, but also including some boxsets that aren't available anymore) and they're always getting new product in for pre-orders. While they do sell them at GW retail price, their rewards program has let me get away (more than a few times) with getting a few boxes for free or for more than 50% discount. Dungeons and Dragons + Pathfinder minis are also available, as are Star Wars: Legion, BattleTech, and HeroClix, as well as more niche stuff, like Blood and Plunder. A fair selection for various card games, but also a generous and wide selection of board games as well! Lastly, there is also a selection of paints, primers, brushes, magnets, basing material, and other hobby tools that are readily available. As far as gaming space, the backroom has space to accommodate plenty of people and for different games. Plenty of tables to set up at, and a wide selection of terrain to make use of for wargaming. While I unfortunately cannot comment on the music section of the store, as I have not made use of its services, I can say that the gentleman who runs it is very respectful and helpful. Overall, a very worthwhile visit for hobbyists who want a wide selection of goods to peruse at an honest price from honest staff. This place means a lot to me, if you couldn't tell from the review lol

It's way better than it needs to be, and the people of Muncie are lucky to have it. What I like about this store is that it feels very cozy. There are cramped hallways filled with comics, plus small rooms with bookshelves of graphic novels and action figures. It's a lovely feeling to be surrounded by so many stories and ideas. One of the rooms has a nice little chair at which to sit and read. Another room has toys and action figures and Funko Pop characters. A whole wall is dedicated just to Funko! It was oh-so quiet when I visited, which was nice because then I could just browse and look around without distractions. The people behind the counter were super friendly, and ready to answer questions or joke around -- it seemed like they were down for whatever. One of the things I love about this comic book store is that they have a designated section for young children, with comic book and graphic novel recommendations. Their recs were spot-on, too. A whole area dedicated to Raina Telgemeier? Heck yeah.

Running a comic shop can be tough, but for some stores, the joy of browsing old issues and feeling…read morethe comics is what makes them special. Unfortunately, this store doesn't quite capture that magic. Upfront, I want to say that it appears to have been around for a while, attracting dedicated comic fans. It is doing something right. It also hosts local card tournaments (and maybe D&D?), but I can't speak to the variety of those. This might be their bread and butter. Not sure. The comic section, however, is a mess. As soon as you walk in, you pass a narrow row of shelves about 5 feet tall facing away from you--it's unclear why, but it makes the space feel small or uninviting. Still, it isn't a large space, and it doesn't match the charm of classic comic shops. Felt more like I was entering a dark porn store from the 80s. For my trip, I had read revieews and as a local comic store, I wanted to check it out. I was looking for back issues. Remember stores with hundreds of boxes overflowing with comics packed in too tight to see the comics? Yep, that is this place. Navigating the shop is tricky: new comics are on hanging shelves too close together, forcing you to crouch and strain to see them under the shelf above. Independent comics are on the far left of the store in the back - between the boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of back issues. The backstock is packed with rows of comics, about 25% overflow in each box (plus stacks of comics on top of those boxes). Very hard to browse. When you do find a title, the comics tend to be dusty, and although sealed, I didn't have my glasses to check for spine ticks or other issues. But, it can't be good to store comics on top of a box without a lid. If you're hunting for key back issues, forget it--these have been picked over like roadkill in the desert; there's nothing valuable left. Instead, you'll find many comics priced between $1-$2, labeled at $4-$8 or more, but most are from the past and generally worthless. I can't tell if the store is clean, but it felt dirty (maybe the lighting or the dusty boxes?). If I were to advise the store - even though they seem to be doing fine - I'd suggest selling your stock on Whatnot, starting at $1 per comic, to gauge interest. If you can clear out 35% of your back issues that way, you won't need to sell low-value comics at higher prices. I understand the reluctance to take losses - I've felt the same - but if your stock is holding back from creating a warm, vibrant, energetic atmosphere, it might be worth doing. There's no shame in dumping unsellable stock as a tax write-off. Listing those low-priced comics at $4-$6 could generate significant revenue and help the store thrive. Personally, I think this is the best approach, as you don't need to spend hours selling thousands of comics. I will note that the staff were friendly. I spoke with one staff member and they are knowledgeable about the stock they had. My guess is this might be where the store shines for people. The human touch. I so wanted to like this place. But, maybe I wait until I make trips to Chicago in the future.

Ms. Sadako (owner's mother) is always friendly and sweet; I enjoy the conversations I have with her. It's always fun to just stop by and browse, and they also have a small section of old nostalgic Japanese manga. The owner, Roy, is very knowledgeable and can help you find what you're looking for. He has a great sense of humor and he's full of interesting stories. I didn't grow up near a comic book store, but I hope this is what the good ol' days were like. Just a quirky family business with a strong sense of community. So stay for a while, and enjoy meeting old and new friends.

I…read morecould not be more excited about it because the last time we had a comic book shop in Hamilton was when I was a small child, and then that quickly turned into a tobacco store of all things! It's so great to not have to travel at least 30 minutes away to get some fresh comics. The owner, Brian, is super very friendly and helpful. He is one of the nicest, coolest people you'll ever meet. He's not at all stuck up or rude like at other comic shops... *cough* Queen City Comics *cough cough*. They sell new comic issues and some back issues as well. If you don't see something you want, Brian will be more than happy to try to order it in for you if he can. He started carrying Invader Zim just for me and my husband. They also sell toys and collectibles, they have a good selection of Funko Pop figures. They sell graphic novels, manga, table top gaming supplies and t-shirts too. He is always getting some good rare stuff into the store that he found at flea markets or auctions. They also regularly hold costume contests, signings by artists, and other such events. They have a table top gaming space in the back of the store. I know he is trying to get a program started where people can come in, sit down, chill out and try out a table top game, and afterwards he will start selling the games in the store if people really take to it. Indeed, this is a godsend and a lovely, wonderful gem to have in Hamilton. Do yourself a favor and stop in, chat with Brian, buy some of his awesome merch, and maybe sit down for a game or two. This store deserves all of your business!! Don't let another comic book shop get away from Hamilton! Especially not an amazing one like this.
