Really nice workers but Mega Evolutions ETB was resealed. Disappointing. Their prices were enticing but I'm suspecting why.

We have been shopping at Saltire for 4-5 years occasionally. My son did their Pokémon summer Camp twice and loved it. They had so many crafts and activities for those kids that weren't all the way engaged and wanting to play for long bursts of time. They were accomodating to all kids and my son really loved it. My son recently got into My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and peaked interest playing Dungeons & Dragons. The selection of merchandise is fairly priced and they have such a wide variety. But the best part is the staff. They're so accomodating, flexible, not condescending or arrogant. They're understanding and break things down for you while remaining honest and not trying to upsell you. We recently went to an Adventure League for D&D on Wednesday nights at Saltire games and had a blast. The gentleman, Gregory, who ran it was very knowledgeable and helped me and my 11 year old as it was our first time playing D&D. Everyone in the group was kind, appropriate, and helpful. It was really a wonderful experience. I'm thankful that Satire hosts these game nights so I can grow closer with my kiddo while learning something new and fostering his imagination. read more

This place is awesome. Every interaction I have had with the staff has been top notch. Great selection of games, puzzles, paints, etc. Probably the largest variety of paints that I've seen in a brick and mortar shop. Couple other things to note...they have a garage sale several times a year where you can buy and sell used games, earning store credit for future purchases. You can also play their in store selection of games for free (as long as table space is available) and even borrow games (for a small fee) as a way to try them out before buying. I believe they also have organized event nights although I've never participated. Wish I lived closer so that I could take advantage of their borrowing program. Check them out! read more

Saltire is awesome! Don't be put off by older reviews. The woman that they were talking about is one of the owners, now, EX wife. She really didn't have the right personality to be working with people. The staff there now are friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with their time. They have a wide selection of games and gaming accessories. They also have a decent sized gaming area, lots of events, and a great game library. The staff is always willing to help you find a good game to play and help you learn how to play it. They alw So have private gaming rooms available to rent for gaming groups. The store is clean and welcoming. If you stop by you will be so glad you did. I love the folks over there and have been going so long they know me by name and I consider them friends. read more

Fantastic store, I recently got into DnD and told the owner that. He stopped what he was doing and gave me the run down on the things I needed and even told me what really wasn't worth the money... one thing I picked up he stated he sells them for those that want it but in reality I could just print some off the internet so rather than make a few bucks he made a lifetime customer. The first time I wandered into the place the owner was happy to explain the game night schedule to me and the other customers there. I had all my questions answered. PROS: The books are very reasonably priced and there is a large gaming area. CONS: The employees could be more aware of the schedule and weekly events. I called ahead before a game, once, and it didn't seem like homeboy was in the loop. read more

tl;dr: Good staff, good stock, good service, good location, reasonable prices for a locally owned store. I rarely shop anywhere else for the stuff I can get here. STAFF There are likely a few reviews here that refer to a lady that was very... abrasive. It seems she no longer works there and the owner has gotten better, more personable staff to work the shop. The owner himself is a great guy, and knows at least a little bit about all of the product in his store, which is a HUGE selection. The staff is generally friendly and interested in the hobbies of the stores clientele, and are willing to chat about things. STOCK The store carries a wide variety of board games, tabletop RPG rulebooks, and miniatures games and resource books, along with tons of supplies for playing them. In addition, they carry Magic: the Gathering cards and other TCG and CCG games. If it's not in stock, there is a good chance they can get it for you, with the exception of more adult themed games, as the store is family oriented. SERVICES In addition to the storefront stock, they have several open and private play areas, including two closed rooms and several open tables that can be rented for private games at a very cheap rate. I was quoted around $10 a day last time I checked, and you get the room you rent for the whole day. There are also organized events, such as Magic: the Gathering release, prerelease, and FNM events, as well as other MtG events, and many other games as well (they have their calendar on their site). LOCATION I can't think of a much better location for a gaming hobby store. There's plenty of food nearby, as well as a Dollar General for snacks and drinks. If you rent a room for a open-to-close session, you won't have to get back into your car while you're there. In addition, you are within delivery range of a lot of other places, including Jimmy Johns. In that shopping center is Gramboli's Pizza, Burger King, and Taco Bell. Across the street is Little Caesars, China Wok, Arby's, and Mi Tenampa (a mexican restaurant). read more

The owners are honest and hard working people. They charge honest prices for Magic the Gathering cards, singles etc. I purchased a box of Modern Masters cards from them for MSRP when other shops were selling them for well above that price. I highly recommend this shop if you play table top or card games. read more

We absolutely love this place! My kids and I recently got into Magic the Gathering and Pokémon card games, and found this store to be super helpful. We were a little intimidated by the hard core players, and especially for Magic, the confusing rules. They have helped us whenever we have a problem or a rules clarification, even when we called on the phone instead of stopping by the store. We also love board games and they will let you demo many of them. The other thing that really surprised me is their prices on Magic and Pokémon are better than Wal-Mart, toys r us, target and Meijer, and in many cases, even cheaper than Amazon. This game store is my favorite in all of Indiana. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly, when I called the store they gave me all the information I needed for event times and products I was looking for. When I went into the store everything was very clean and everyone was even nicer than I could have imagined. Phil has done a good job with this store and covers a wide range of gaming interests and even stocks used items for the collector. The store is utilized by a wide range of old and young gamers, from historical to fantasy, RPG to card games. Phil is friendly and always happy to chat and help and is knowledgeable as he games himself. My gaming group uses his store as our centralized gaming place as it is convenient and has plenty of table space. I recommend that all give his hobby shop a try. read more
