I most recently ordered cupcakes (vanilla with strawberry filling, banana, and lemon and their fruit tarts) with buttercream frosting. He was able to customize the frosting on the cupcakes to match the baby shower colors and also included edible baby shower toppings (rattles, bottles, baby toys...etc). Lindley is easy to communicate with. From the start of our email communication, he responded in a very timely manner and made the ordering process so easy. On the day of the event, he dropped off the cupcakes and tarts early, which worked out for me and I was able to set up the dessert table with plenty of time. Overall, I had a great experience. I highly recommend him for your events whether they are small or large. I will definitely be ordering from him again for future events.

I filled out the form on their website a couple of weeks before my husband birthday, and noticed that their prices had increased recently. The regular 6" black sesame blueberry hojicha cost $55. Megan responded in email within 2 days as expected. Her payment instructions were very clear, and we agreed to meet at their designated community park at 10am on Sunday. (They would also do delivery with an additional cost.) An hour before our meeting time, she sent a text with the make/model/color of their car, as well as, some dessert care instructions. They arrived on time. The cake was carefully packaged and included a "Happy Birthday" paper topper. The cake was really good. It was fresh and airy; the black sesame taste really stood out; the blueberry jam was delicious and not too sweet; the hojicha fresh cream was light and flavorful. While we all really enjoyed the cake, it's very pricey, and it's a 20-min drive from home to pick it up at one of the two time choices.

However, I will say that one good thing that has come from this movement is the plethora of innovative gluten free bakeries and eateries that serve up tasty products. I first learned about Sweet Diplomacy when my neighbors gave me some cupcakes from here that tasted amazing. When I looked them up, I was surprised to learn that they were in Los Altos as I live nearby and had never heard of them. The shop is very cute and homely and feels as if you are in someone's home kitchen. Although they seem to specialize in cupcakes, they also serve a number of other gluten-free and even vegan items. I should note that this bakery focuses on more desserts (ie cookies, cakes, tarts, etc.) rather than pastries (ie croissants and buns). I never thought that my new favorite go-to bakery would be a gluten-free one. As a Mountain View resident, I must say that it is also nice not to have to trek to Palo Alto in order to get some tasty cupcakes!

Upon entering, I was really impressed with how clean and nice the decor was. The tables and chairs were really upscaled and I felt like I was visiting a fancy french style cafe. The display case showed all of the pastries they had available. I went to the counter and ordered a little of everything, just so that I could get a good feel for it. The only table service is they bring the order to you. I had an Apple Turnover, Ube Sesame Tart, Lemon tart, and a Mini Almond Croissant. These were house made and really fresh and excellent. They serve various coffee and espressos, If you are looking for a nice relaxing cafe with great pastries-Marvel is the way to go!

There happened to be a race downtown, which obviously isn't the café's fault, but after dealing with parking and walking over to pick everything up, it was extra disappointing to not enjoy either thing I ordered. We used to shop and order our cakes from Dick's bakery, up until they burnt down. We loved their famous burnt almond cake. When I heard that Peter's makes an excellent burnt almond cake, as well, I knew that's where I wanted my birthday cake to come from. When I opened the door, to enter the bakery, a fresh smell of baked goods and sweets hit me in the best possible way. It smelled like fresh maple glazed donuts. I love that smell. We were warmly greeted by the staff. It wasn't busy at all, so we took our time looking for other sweets to purchase. They found our pre-ordered cake and they did a wonderful job decorating with a cute pumpkin on the top. We also chose an apricot danish, a maple bar and a raisin snail. The prices were very affordable and reasonable here. I really loved how all the pastries and cakes. were displayed in their cases. Everything looked amazing. They even sell fresh loaves of bread and rolls. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were immediately helped with a smile. I love the old fashioned vibe in here. Both pastry and cake boxes were tired up with sting, to properly secure our box. We paid for our goods and hurried home to try a few of them. The maple doughnut was good. I loved the icing better than the doughnut itself. The apricot danish was delicious and so soft. The apricots on the top were not overly sweet, which I prefer. The pumpkin burnt almond cake was so good. The cake was so soft and light with a wonderful pumpkin flavor that reminds me of fall. The frosting and custard filling paired perfectly with the pumpkin cake. The caramelized almonds covered the entire outer cake and offered a nice flavorful crunch. The whole thing works perfectly. I didn't even know you could get the burnt almond cake in pumpkin. A huge thank you to my friend John D. for letting me know about this limited time fall flavor. We will definitely be back for more soon.

On September 4, 2026, I ordered and paid for my mother's 96th birthday cake--a burnt almond cake--a day in advance. When I arrived to pick it up, the line was very long, and the wait took far too long. Unfortunately, the cake itself was unbelievably dry and crumbled with every bite. After recommending Peter's Bakery to family and friends for many years, I was embarrassed to serve this cake. Sadly, it took away from a very special birthday celebration. I hope Peter's Bakery improves both its customer service and the quality of its cakes.
