I'm still looking for a cupcake in Toronto comparable to my beloved Crave Cupcakes in Calgary. I've yet to find it (thus believing there's nothing like Crave) but I was pleasantly surprised by The Cupcake Shoppe. It's down an alleyway (beside a restaurant/bar). I was walking by on my way to Eglinton Station when I spotted the sign on Yonge. Glad I stopped by. A friendly raven-haired woman greeted me warmly. I purchased two cupcakes - a raspberry cake and icing and a marble cake with blue frosting (tastes like vanilla). Also bought a cake pop (no photo evidence - I ate it). Cupcakes are moist and the icing is sweet but not overly so. The cake pop was super moist. A great treat. I look forward to purchasing more in the future. Crave Jr!

Assorted flavours and delivered on time! Very nicely presented and taste delish!!

Had to find a nut free cupcake bakery and I happened to stumble upon the cupcake shoppe. Everything made here is nut free and taste delicious!! Never had to physically enter into the bakery. I had to order 5 dozens of cupcake for my staff and had no time to pick them up. I placed my order via phone with credit card and got them delivered exactly at the time I needed the next day. They have lots of flavours to choose from and if you do delivery they can come in these nice plastic boxes to keep them from moving around. Though delivery does cost abut 20$ extra. Had a great experience from ordering to the execution of the cupcakes. The delivery guy was super friendly and delivered them at the time I needed them. Cupcakes were moist and the buttercream icing was to die for! Definitely will be returning here because overall experience was very positive.

I popped into this shop despite the 3 star average on Yelp because my boyfriend and I needed a treat. I picked up 4 cupcakes of different flavours. When I got home, my boyfriend said "Oh, you went there. I heard they have poor reviews". So, my expectations dropped immediately. We cut each cupcake in half so we could try every flavour. I thought the cupcakes were good! Cake was moist with a top crust that I particularly liked, and the icing was tasty. My favourite was the raspberry buttercream. Overall, they weren't the best or worst cupcakes I've had in the city, but they should get a better overall rating than 3 stars.

Tried their cupcakes for the first time. They have been around for almost 2 decades and is one of the first cupcake shops in Canada. Was right on Yonge before and now moved to the Alley before hitting Spacco. Had the red velvet with cream cheese icing. Red velvet was not dry, but the icing was too sweet for my taste. They had a few different choices on display (~about 11) of which all were nut free but no vegan options available. They also charge extra to use the debit or credit machine so bring cash.

I love the vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting from the Cupcake Shoppe. They have a long list of flavours to choose from but only a few are available each day. Sometimes simplicity is best. My boyfriend knows that picking up a half-dozen cupcakes from here will quickly make me very happy. They have a daily rotation of flavours so you never know what will be for sale until you stop by. Their little space on Yonge St. is mostly bakery space with a little counter and till at the front, and some gift cards in case you are in a pinch. Their cupcakes are moist and not too sweet, and their frosting is smooth, rich, not too sweet. There is just the perfect amount of icing on each cupcake. They are priced at $2.50 each, but if you come late in the afternoon you can buy their "day old" ones for less.

This is my go to place for cupcakes! I wanted my boyfriend to try this delicious place but arrived near dinner time, so it was no surprise that they were sold out of cupcakes. The owners who is super friendly suggested a cookie sandwich so i went with a chocolate one. It consisted of two chocolate chip, heart shaped cookies with a ton of chocolate icing in between. My boyfriend stated it was very yummy and dimming and tasted like chocolate icing from Dunkaroos. Yet another win for the cupcake shoppe, I will definitely be back again!

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. There is free street parking on their one-way south-bound street. Review 2023-017

Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
