So I FINALLY was able visit just the other day & specifically came for their Passion (today's was strawberry) Flakies, as they are only sold on weekend. I have been obsessing to try these for over a year now. In high school, I was addicted to the Vachon version, so happy they have made their own (sans chemicals) & am happy to report they deliver on light creamy jam deliciousness! Thank goodness I pre-order/paid as they were sold out the time we arrived. As I visited with my sister, we also tried the vanilla s'mores (which they lightly torched... extra Yum toasted flavour), small peanut cookie sandwich.

I…read morecouldn't find the Yelp Review for the Aurora location but Google gave this place lots of positive comments so I decided to give it a try. There was only 1 staff member at the front and I was a bit taken back by the open-kitchen concept. I'm not saying that in a negative sense, but you can literally see every corner of this shop. Everything is really cutesy looking, and you can definitely smell the sweet aroma of the treats. I'm not great at describing dessert places, but I know a good one when I taste one. This place was okay at best. Maybe I came at the end of the day and the pastries weren't as fresh, or perhaps it was an off day for them but I ordered 2 cupcakes and 1 cookie. The cupcake's icing is TOO sweet. We had both the cream cheese and lemon - easy to identify, but it was too much for me and my friend. The top layer of the cupcake was slightly crunchy which made it really nice. While the inner cupcake was moist, I didn't feel like it had much taste to it. In fact, other than the crunchy top layer, I didn't think this cupcake was any good. Yeah, the cookie was a decent size and had those nice crispy edges, but the core was too thick. It didn't leave any "wowzer" moments for me and my friend. I don't want to deduct too many points off the cookie, because they are meant to be eaten fresh and that is when you can properly rate the taste. Having said that, I think this place is okay but there are many places in Toronto that glow in comparison.

Not only did they have Cookie Dough Cupcakes (I was sold right there), but the shop strongly supports equal opportunity employment for people of all abilities. I ordered my cupcakes and, when my sister picked them up, they even sang her a Happy Birthday. Can we say exceptional customer service? I think so. Although I was not there to enjoy them, my sister (who has very high cupcake standards) said that the cupcakes were velvety and phenomenal. I never had the desire to visit their old location but I've had them bookmarked on Yelp, since forever. I walked in and the owner (I think) was speaking to a customer. I didn't mind waiting since I was trying to kill a bit of time anyways. The customer ahead of me was so considerate and asked if I was getting any "Serendipity" cupcakes because she was buying several of them. I wasn't, but how nice! Not only was the customer nice, but so was the owner! Such a pleasant experience with her. She's so lovely and sweet, she talks to everyone as if she's known them for years. I ended up getting a single cupcake for my gf for her bday, a vanilla cupcake for me and a Nutella cupcake for my bf. The owner even took it upon herself to tie a bow on the cupcake for my gf! So sweet! Cupcakes are very reasonably priced and cheaper than most places at 2.99 per cupcake. 6 or more cupcakes and there's no tax. Finally the cupcake review lol. Yummy! I actually really enjoyed the cake of the vanilla cupcake. It didn't crumble and was denser than most cakes but still moist. The icing is buttercream and it's very light and airy. Too be honest the star of the cupcake was the cake. Very nice. Since they've passed my vanilla cupcake test, I'm very curious to see what the red velvet tastes like. Can't wait to try it. Wishing this business all the success at their new location! :)

But it's still quite close to the downtown Brampton area. It definitely has an independently run feel to it - almost like Ice Cream Cafe downtown and from the decor. They've got a bit of everything. Cupcakes may be their signature as it's in their logo and they had quite a bit of options. I know some other reviewers expressed some disappointment with these (and macaroons) but I didn't order either. My daughter wanted ice cream and my son wanted a donut. Like I said, they have a bit of everything so I was able to satisfy both of their cravings. The ice cream is Chapman's - so nothing exceptional, but does the job and the price is okay. My son got a jelly-filled donut and I got an apple fritter. I can't speak to the experience of others who felt their items were store-bought, but that wasn't my experience at all with the donuts. They both had a unique, homemade taste to them and much better than Tim's. Perhaps a little more expensive than Tim's, but not much and certainly nowhere near as expensive as some of these 'designer' donut shops are charging. On another note, incidentally today I was at a Canada Day event where cookies were handed out and had been prepared by Occasions. It was a simple sugar cookie, but I can say that they were soft and didn't give the impression of being store bought. I'll certainly come back and it's nice to have their type of selection which can keep everyone in the family happy.

I'm on the hunt for some really good sugar cookies and this was the only bakery that I could find in Brampton that had them. It's a cute little shop in a random rundown plaza. When you walk in, you're overwhelmed by all the different types of treats. I decided to treat myself to a vanilla cupcake and sugar cookie. They had several designs of sugar cookies for sale. I went with the cloud. Also, helllooo I always judge places on their vanilla cupcakes. The packaging was super cute. I didn't even say it was for a bday or anything, so I guess they always package everything with tissue paper. I had a bite of the sugar cookie when I got in my car and unfortunately, I did not enjoy it. It left a lingering, almost artificial taste in your mouth. I know everything is made in house, which made it even more disappointing. I was expecting a fresher homemade taste. When I got home I dug right into the cupcake. Again, sadly not so great. The cupcake did taste store bought. Don't get me wrong, the actual cake part wasn't too bad, but it didn't have the texture and taste I'd hope for. The icing also had that artificial taste. Like I said, it really pains me to write this review as I love supporting local businesses. Also, I know everything is made in house, that's why I was expecting more. I also prefer that they didn't fill the cupcakes with icing. I think it's too much when places do this. Sadly, I won't be returning. If anyone knows where I can get sugar cookies in the peel region, holla!!
