Crazy good food in a fun, retro dive-bar atmosphere. Super-friendly service and easy parking and access from the public lot in back. Note that music is loud, and typically punk or metal, so if you don't want to eat around that, probably not your place. Went for heavy metal brunch!! Starting with the food.... it was great. A bit pricey for such a casual place, but it was very good. As a vegetarian, I'm always thrilled to have multiple options especially when they're dishes I can't normally have like the biscuits and gravy. I also loved the walnut pesto eggs. They were unique and very green. I was interested in the French toast dish but didn't want to spend more so maybe next time. Service was good, prompt. Oh my god, where to begin. Everything we tried was amazing. For an appetizer we ordered cheese curds. They were phenomenal - crispy, cheesy, gooey, and tasted really fresh. They come with ranch and tomato jam for dipping. The ranch is top notch, not sure what it was that makes it SO good but I could have drank it with a straw. For mains I got the Salmon BLT and my partner got the Wisconsin Burger. The Salmon BLT had a lot going on but it all came together in the best way. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The walnut pesto mayo made sure the sandwich wasn't dry and added an awesome herby flavor. I love capers because they add such a nice saltiness to anything they're in, and frying them just kicks that up a notch and makes them even better. And of course bacon, everything is better with bacon. The Wisconsin Burger was also incredible. As I said we loved the cheese curds, and topping a burger with them is genius. Noise is the reason I gave this only a rating of two. I visited this restaurant twice during the supper hours and the noise was so overwhelming that I resorted to texting my companion who was just a few feet away from me across the table. The place had good food and a good selection of items. I even tried a few things there that I never have tasted. The feel is primarily that of a pub that serves food. There is an outdoor dining area that if you go, I highly suggest you consider being seated at. I like to go to a restaurant that offers both good food and a good environment to enjoy it. What a great patio! Covered, heaters, lounge areas and dog friendly! We went on the Sunday metal brunch and the food was delicious! I had the savory, green eggs and ham sandwich with waffle fries....so good! The eggs were cooked perfectly with pesto inside. I love their waffle fries! I have also had food off of their regular menu as well and enjoyed that as well. They have an extensive local craft beer menu and a unique signature cocktail list. The Crow's nest is the place to go for a night out to have drinks and dinner or on a weekend afternoon for drinks or the metal brunch. It's a confusing place, It's a place that is hipster, has the whole look, but whereas most places that are hipster have cheap fare, The Crow's Nest isn't really cheap. The average sandwich is between $16/17, as someone who eats ALOT of sandwiches, I can say that's pretty high up there on the sandwich scale. I will say that the food they have is very good. The decor is very hipster, down to the dirty bathroom. So all in all, it's a hipster bar with non-hipster prices and better than your average hipster bar food. read more

Walking into the bar feels like walking back into my old college room, replete with posters, oddities and cult classics playing on the large screen. The food always slaps, especially the hot honey chicken. I tried the stuffed mushrooms for the first time last night and they were covered in cheesy goodness and cooked to perfection. Normally, food is good. Tonight food was less than what you'd get in a drive thru. All of our potatoes fried dishes were undercooked - it's like they wanted to get the food out as quick as possible so they could get out themselves. Bar was ok, but the 2-3 bartenders (or maybe a bar back) were noshing on food around 8pm and it took them 5 mins to come over and take our order at the bar once my buddy fagged them down. 8pm guys - come on, don't you want to make money. Still tipped 25% because I was in the biz 15 years ago. But stop being lazy and get better cooks. We've been here a few years ago, had some delicious food but somehow never been back. Last week, we came in and had a nice dinner in their patio. Good news, the outdoor seating is dog friendly! So the outdoor seating was pretty cool with tables and hangout area. They have a heater which made it the dining experience comfortable. My husband and I both ordered the melt with a side of waffle fries. Their waffle fries were so fantastic! They were crisp and flavorful with a little bit of kick to them. I ate my leftovers the next day and although the waffle fries got a bit soggy in the microwave, it was still super tasty! Our waitress was fantastic and made sure we had quick drink refills. I went here for the first time and I'm a big fan. It's off of Manchester and can be easy to miss. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has plenty of options and several good ones if you're vegetarian. The brunch menu was fun to read through and honestly I don't think anything on it would be bad. I had the stuffed french toast with scrambled eggs. 10/10. The chili cheese fries also slapped; not as much chili as there was cheese, but delicious nonetheless. The interior was so cool and they had a lot of decorations to look at. While it can be a noisy place, it's awesome -- they play metal music and they were screening Stand By Me on their wall. I came here on a Sunday for brunch. They have a heated outdoor patio. This was great because I wanted to bring my dog. I came during metal brunch, they do indeed play loud metal music. I ordered the bowel of slop, unappealing name but tasted great. Portion was just right but you may need extra eggs or side if you are very hungry. Wow, reading other reviews regarding a similar inappropriate response of management to problems at the restaurant is not filling me with confidence they will be addressed and corrected... We've been to The Crow's Nest several times before and quite enjoyed it. We recently went with two other couples recently for dinner and cocktails/drinks and things were mostly good. Wait staff were very good and the food was good. However, after I finished a specialty cocktail, I ordered a gin & tonic -my rule is generally never order a gin & tonic at a bar, should've known... The waitress brought the drink and it was flat. I sent it back, asking if I could get one with fresh tonic. Apparently, the manager sent a shot glass of tonic back out (?!?!). I tasted it and told the waitress it was flat as well and asked the waitress to take it off the bill. I went to talk with one of our group in town from Kansas City and my wife approached us telling us the manager was not going to take the G & T off the bill, that I could only get another drink... WTF? I don't know if this manager thinks their establishment is just too cool and need not abide by long-established traditions for what constitutes customer service in the food & beverage industry, but being a wanke# to customers is not the way to go about it... As I said the food and wait staff were very good, I had a burger that was $18; it was basically a $10 burger priced at $18. So, you're paying a lot for your food, here. We will not go back while The Crow's nest is being so poorly run. read more

It was so good to be back for metal brunch again after all this time! My partner loves crow's nest vegan biscuits and gravy. They're a meat eater so I feel their stamp of approval is quite a compliment. We got a side of their green eggs today (think pesto scrambled eggs) and it was delicious. My bean veggie burger was great as well. They were happy to sub the olive tapenade out for some bbq sauce for me. Service was amazing. Hannah, our server was probably the best waitress I've ever had. She made sure our order was correct, provided coffee refills, was attentive and really kind. There was clearly a team working and it was nice to see a waitstaff enjoy one another.
